a hardness question
I was reading the Complete psionic and noticed the destruction mantle
it says that you treat objects as if they have half their hardness when sundering. you may expend your psionic focus to lower the hardness by 4...
so...
- do I lower the hardness by four then divide the remaining hardness in half
- do I divide the hardness by two and then lower it by four
the mantle descriptions are on pg12 and on pg 68Last edited by quiet1mi; 2008-07-28 at 10:33 AM.
SpoilerA Fighter/Paladin will just hack you to bits
A Wizard/Sorcerer will just blow you up with a spell
A Rogue/Ranger/Monk will just kill you in your sleep
A Cleric/Druid will just squash you after buffing himself
A Bard will slowly twist your ethics, corrupt your morals, and make you do vile acts just for the chance to face him. When you fight him, he will have your family and friends fighting for him. For he wields the deadliest weapon against you and that is, his word against yours.

Re: a hardness question
lower and then divide.
if you had a -4 to damage and did half damage wouldn't you do it this way?78% of DM's started their first campaign in a tavern. If you're one of the 22% that didn't, copy and paste this into your signature.

Re: a hardness question
If no order of operation is specified (I have not checked the relevant pages) you use the most beneficial for the user of the effect.
In this case it is most beneficial to first divide the hardness by two and then subtract four.
