What would affect a deathless vampire? 3.5
Hello,
I currently have a player who is taking the vampire template in a racial progression one level at a time. Since alignments are not enforced in my campaign setting (no Usually, Always, and such) aside from outsiders like demons, devils, and celestials (and even this is more lenient) I ruled that he would be a deathless vampire instead of an undead one.
Now this brings up a few questions I need advice on as a noob DM.
- Does holy water still effect him, or would only unholy water(Book of Extraordinary Deeds) hurt him?
- Would the holy symbol of a good deity affect him, or would only the holy symbol of an evil deity affect him?
- What other issues might come up by making him deathless instead of undead?

Swap good for it's evil counter part.
Evil clerics turn him, good ones rebuke/bolster him.
Unholy water burns him.
Unholy weapons and targath are bad news for him.
Cure still heals him, and inflict still harms him.Alchemyprime's Omniblog

Well, just take a look at the deathless type and compare it to the undead type.
>Good Clerics Rebuke/Command him
>Evil Clerics Turn/Destroy him
Ect...
Also, I'd rule that Unholy Water hurts him.Check out my class, the Clothfighter.

I see.
What about switching sunlight for moonlight as well?"There are runts in every culture. The little guys who get picked on and pushed around. Even among Kobolds. And at some point those runts always lose it and seek revenge if they haven't been killed..."

Looking at vampire weaknesses:
Garlic, mirror - leave these.
Holy symbol - replace with unholy.
Running water - not sure what to do with this. Unless someone comes up with a better replacement, leave it.
Entering home - leave.
Sunlight - switching this to moonlight makes sense.
Stake and holy wafers - leave stake, use unholy wafers?

Both sunlight and moonlight seem to be positive energy types since they're light. It occurs to me that the opposite of sunlight seems to be pitch blackness.

Or you could just say he's still vulnerable to sunlight regardless. It's simpler.

Re: What would affect a deathless vampire? 3.5
if we're just reversing everything, then does his touch give people levels??
Does he have to give people transfusions, boosting their CON, lest he get too fat from producing too much blood??
Instead of Turning Gaseous, Turns into stone??
has the power to banish bats, rats and wolves??
Can fall under someone's control as if Dominatedif he looks into anyones' eyes??
if he boosts another vampires' levels equal to double their own, will they turn human again??
Ages insanely quickly.
Instead of Spider climb, hands are constantly affected by Grease
Can transform into a dove or a cat at will
Instead of damage reduction, is vulnerable to everything
Instead of Fast healing, doesnt heal naturally at all
Canine teeth are noticeably smaller than the rest of their teeth.
Have a compulsion to eat garlic whenver they see it
can ONLY cross running water.
Level Adjustment -8. you count as 8 levels LOWER than you actually are.
