A somewhat silly thread: Fast Plays
Something I've always liked is the idea of a "fast play" self-contained game. You know, the ones where they've compressed it down to 20 or 30 pages so that you can show new players how the game runs without too much reading.
Some that I know about include the Star Wars one:

The AD&D one:
http://www.wizards.com/dnd/files/ADND_Fast_Play.pdf
And the Diablo II one:

The one I'm looking for is this:

Anyone know where I could download it? Also, any links to similar, free fast-plays for whatever RPG systems would be very welcome."It's not like chess, where choosing to play black or white dictates your entire strategy. Also, chess doesn't have steam cannons."

Re: A somewhat silly thread: Fast Plays
Hmmn. There are quite a few of these on RPGNow, but referred to as Quick Starts, I posted some links to a few of them a while back Index of Free Stuff, but some of them will probably now be out of date. You can also download the Fast Play rules for OSRIC that I wrote a short while back from here: OSRIC Fast Play Module: Orc's Nest.

It is a joyful thing indeed to hold intimate converse with a man after one’s own heart, chatting without reserve about things of interest or the fleeting topics of the world; but such, alas, are few and far between.

Thanks!
Oh, and I thought of another one: Bones of Ironforge:

If anyone knows where to find that D&D 3.0 one I was asking about, I would appreciate it."It's not like chess, where choosing to play black or white dictates your entire strategy. Also, chess doesn't have steam cannons."
