    Default OotS Character generator

Do you think we could get something like this running for OotS?

A secondary question, in line with the first:

How does one make Microsoft Paint turn something avatar sized (117x117)?

If I could import Inkscape to FW better, then yes.

you can go to [image] then [attributes] and set it to 117x117 but that will not expand or shink the drawing if that is what you are looking for. It just crops it or adds white space. If you want to do the pic itself, then you should go with the vector tools in other programs. ;)

First, crop until it's square. Then go to attributes, making it perfectly square if necessary (using flip/rotate to make sure you trim from the right side). Now, take the number you have for attributes (probably larger than 117). Divide 117 by that number. That will give you a number, say .234. Round up to 24. Now, go to stretch/skew. Put 24 for both percentage numbers in stretch. It should now be at 120 pixels. Divide again, giving you .975. Set it to 98 percent. That'll bring you to 118. Go to 99 percent, and it should be right where you need it. It'll now be at 117.

However, as Omen said, it's better to go with a vector program for this stuff.

LOL, then **** the hammer and slowly, very slowly, pull the trigger.

But really, thanks. I learn something new every day and today is no exception. Will I ever go through all that... not when InkScape is free ;)

    Oh, God...
What vector program (free?) would you suggest?

Inkscape is what saved me from never trying another avatar. I was trying to use Paint and Powerpoint but was completely unsatisfied. Once I found Inkscape I am only limited by my own creativity and artistic ability.

    Get Inkscape HERE
    and
    Get GIMP here for WINDOWS

You need GIMP to make the background transparent and convert the Inkscape pic to a GIF only. Just follow the tutorial... HERE ~ it's what got me started.

    Hope this helps. ;)

meh I love the idea of making your own or having someone make it for you, the origional-ness, if you will, of a stick avatar that no one else has except you, well it just makes me feel unique, cool, diffrent, happy etc. if you have an auto thing then it be possible for people to have the same avy, although it is now, an everything would become generic.

I agree to an extent. But I would love to have one for PbP games for NPCs etc. I really don't see custom avatars going anywhere, I mean 98% of the people on here have custom avatars when they have the option of say 20 odd ones on the 'Profile' link. I would love to have one for PbP if nothing else. ;D

Cool, InkScape works for you guys that HAVE artistic ability. But what about people like me, lazy and in need of a custom avatar??? Giant should make an avatar creator like the SP studios did. It could even be "member only" if he wants too, but there should be one anyway.

Agree with Elron, it's like the difference between making a pony avatar and using this maker - http://dolldivine.com/mlp-fim-pony-creator.php

If I want to have an OotS style drawings of myself and my favorite charcters or whatever pointless stuff I wanna do WITHOUT having to bug people with much better things to do

Or you can take it too the Request Thread. Rich can't account for every little detail you want as a template. Plus I think he has enough things to worry about.

Or you can check the artist thread and personally ask artists for a custom avatar.
