Re: Dancing Fox Inn OOC chat thread I
Yes, Doran, that is it.
With both you, AND Lerky, half the posts you guys make are solid OoC.
That needs to stop.
Not all OoC comments have to stop, just, don't let them stop the playing.
Renn has been talked to before, but Lerky is so busy making OoC posts, that he misses it.
It makes everyone mad.
But all of us do it.
Not just you two.Last edited by Mee; 2008-09-01 at 05:49 PM.

Re: Dancing Fox Inn OOC chat thread I
I hate it when people make an OOC comment and not respond IC, especially when I'm on Gabbly. When I'm on Gabbly I usually just give up and quit when it happens.

Re: Dancing Fox Inn OOC chat thread I
Another idea:
Get rid of all/most unused characters.
Such as: I got rid of Dragon.
I mean, I haven't played him in . . . months? And it would be a pain to bring him back.
What got me thinking about this, is, to be blunt, Quinsar.
He brought Froggie back after . . . a good month or two, and now needs care, which is interrupting K's life, which was fine.
Now, I'm not talking about . . . say, Lerky, getting rid of Halaster.
I'm talking about getting rid of the people you played once, then they disappeared.
Mostly, get rid of them, so they don't come back.
Because, after a long absence, they will be annoying.
I'm sorry if this kinda hurts you, Quinsar, but this is one idea that I had, and it doesn't have to be listened to.Spoiler: Quotes

Re: Dancing Fox Inn OOC chat thread I
Well, mostly, with Froggie, it's a:
He's around for a little while, he's a good friend of K's.
He disappears for months, then comes back, needing help, because he didn't take care of himself.
I mean, he hasn't been swimming? Ever?
It's . . . I'm finding it sad, to be honest.
Maybe K could release him into the wild, after telling him how to survive?Spoiler: Quotes

Re: Dancing Fox Inn OOC chat thread I
Yeah. I'm sorry, Quinsar.
But this idea applies to a lot of the people in the town that have been around for a while.
Like, the dwarf NPC I had as the first patron of the DFI, I've gotten rid of him.
I'm sure at least a few other people have characters that would be coming back.
I'm sorry, but this needed to be said.Spoiler: Quotes

Re: Dancing Fox Inn OOC chat thread I
I think that's a good idea, Mee. If you don't use a character anymore and you don't plan on using them again write them off.(All good TV shows do it.) Not that It affects me. I only have Nerick

Re: Dancing Fox Inn OOC chat thread I
I have maybe...two? characters that I don't plan on using anytime in the future, and as such I've placed one conveniently out of the way (he was a bit too strong and wasn't needed anymore anyways) while the second is still kinda lurking. However, one is a bit of a main PC that I used quite a lot, while the other has large potential for plot tie-ins. As such, I don't really want to permanently disappear either of them.
I don't like getting rid of characters, mine generally just hole up somewhere out of the way where they won't bother anyone.Last edited by LordVader; 2008-09-01 at 06:46 PM.

Re: Dancing Fox Inn OOC chat thread I
Well, you don't have to get rid of them, and these discussions aren't really for you.
They're for the people that are messing up.
Which you aren't.Spoiler: Quotes

Re: Dancing Fox Inn OOC chat thread I
I find that in IC-intensive threads, such as Trog's or the DFI, it's generally a good idea to always accompany an OOC comment with some kind of IC action.

Re: Dancing Fox Inn OOC chat thread I
Yeah, also, that's the point.
You only bring him in when you're bored/remember him, and then K feels bad for not taking care of him, like today, when he's dry to a point of death, and saying that he's never been swimming.
That . . . hurt K quite a lot.
Since he is a ranger, sworn to protect and take care of nature, and her creatures.
Lord_Vader: That is the point. That is what we're trying to do.Last edited by Mee; 2008-09-01 at 06:51 PM.

since everyone else is asking. Anything I should fix? And don't say allowing my characters to get hit because Quinsar blasted Halaster through a wall and an Inevitable strangled Renn so I'm trying to fix it

Re: Dancing Fox Inn OOC chat thread I
Lupy's Big Idea:
I have an idea about giving town some rules, and how we'll do it, so kindly read my ideas and then talk about them, though I am fairly sure that they will be put into action.
Development Councils:My idea is to divide the regulars up into councils to regulate one section of town as follows:
Divine Council:This council will determine rules regarding Clerics, Druids, Paladins, and such, and will create a Town Pantheon, which will be voted on in a general meeting after the council has narrowed down the choices. They will also govern rules regarding gods, demigods, divine powers, and all similar matters.
Arcane Council:This council will determine a spell system to be used throughout town, regulate magical items, determine to powers of wizards, sorcerers, magi, and other arcane magic users. They will allow a vote to determine spell templates, so that spells may be regulated and standardized. New spells must be registered with this council
Combat Council:This Council will determine the way combat will be organized, such as a combat order, weapon templates, and acceptable actions in combat. They will also define godmodding and determine punishments for it.
Law and Finance Council:This council will determine the value of money, regulate money, and will require new users to explain their characters monetary standing. They will regulate the rules for character death, stealing, and other similar things, and will have an IC police force to maintain.
These councils will be chosen by a general vote, however voting should require that the person is a regular, or on their way to becoming one. The definition of "a regular" will be determined on this thread by everyone.
-------------------------------------------------------------------
If you agree that something similar to my plan should go into action, or have ideas for improving it, this is the place for comments...SpoilerAvatar, and many thanks, to Nevitan!
