What would you do with these rolls?
So I rolled the highest stats I have ever rolled:
18 18 16 16 15 12
and now Im unsure of what to do with them. What would you make?
ToB is banned and can't take a race with LA or from like Eberon or anything like that.78% of DM's started their first campaign in a tavern. If you're one of the 22% that didn't, copy and paste this into your signature.

Re: What would you do with these rolls?
My first ever character was a Barbarian with these stats (With racial adjustments)
STR: 20
CON: 20
Dex: 18
WIS: 16
INT: 14
CHA:15
Yeah, he was fun because I refused to learn to read or write. AND GROG TALK LIKE THIS! (And this was actually before I started reading OotS, so, no, he's not based on Thog.

What sort of class would you most like to use, and what are the other player's classes? Those stats are great for anything.

Re: What would you do with these rolls?
What level? What alignment? What books are available? What do you normally enjoy playing or normally favor? Can you use Flaws?
Beguiler -1 with Precocious Apprentice Feat Trick, Binder - 1 or 2, Anima Mage - 7 could be fun.
Prestige Paladin with a Favored Soul (Needs to acquire Turning) or Cleric (Has the Turning) could be enjoyable.
Changeling Rogue Variant (10 SPS and Fast Diplomacy and Gather Information) using the Feat Rogue Variant could be fun.Last edited by CASTLEMIKE; 2008-09-01 at 01:15 AM.

My PC likes hamburgers but prefers cheeseburgers. Any LG Paladin should Wish for a CG Candle of Invocation to Summon a Noble Djinni or a Solar. Pazuzu probably amused at a lowly Paladin having a Demon Lord grant him a Wish to command a Solar to grant a Wish for something like Summoning a Noble Djinni for more wishes of questionable purposes. Gate spell doesn't cause creature to forget.

Level 1 (campaign will go to about 15)
Banned books: ToB, psionics, no campaign specific races
No flaws
I usually try to maxamize damage with martial classes, but have been considering playing a Malconvoker since they can pretty much fill in any role with their summon spells and theyre still stong by themselves.78% of DM's started their first campaign in a tavern. Re: What would you do with these rolls?
Variant Domain Conjurer with Precocious Apprentice Feat Trick dipping Binder for a level or two to go Anima Mage (Vestige Meta at AM-5 1/day) before Malconvoker.
http://www.d20srd.org/srd/variant/cl...jurationDomain
Swap out the Scribe Scroll for Augment Summoning (2 feats for 1) great for a future Malconvoker especially if you go the Master Specialist - 4 route.
You can always retake the feat.
Consider Focused Specialist Conjurer.
http://www.d20srd.org/srd/variant/cl...njurerVariants
Master Specialist could be interesting if the Precocious feat trick works to faciliate early entry.
The Nexus Method feat could be fun if you can swing it:

Re: What would you do with these rolls?
Paladin can be a good level dip for 3 or 5 levels as part of another build (even if you go the Prestige version from UA, more than 5 levels in it is pretty pointless). These stats would also be great for a dual casting progression kind of build (there are many ways to pimp such a build out, but you could be just a plain old mystic theurge if you don't want to be too overpowered). I would recommend a gish like a Duskblade, Psychic Warrior, Lurk, Psionic Rogue, those are all fairly well balanced and fun to play.
Edit: Never mind, ninja'd on the answer to the question.
No psionics? Laaaaammme...oh well.Last edited by Grynning; 2008-09-01 at 01:25 AM.

And god forbid someone have a speech impediment without being dumb. Maybe he learned some language where pronouns didn't exist and then his second language is common. Or he learned common from those WITH low intelligence. It becomes a dialect among barbarians practically.

Re: What would you do with these rolls?
Here's my list of things-to-try-with-high-scores:
-Melee Cleric (seriously, they can be build pretty SAD, but they really want Wis, Cha, Str, Con and Dex)
-TWFer (Strength-focused Two-Weapon Fighter - the starting stat is big enough to qualify for the TWF feats, so one can easily derive everything off Str - of course, this runs into the problem that Tome of Battle isn't allowed and thus, Two-Weapon Fighting sucks)
-Wizard (with high Charisma for Charms/Bindings/etc.!)
-Shapeshift Druid (Druid's more fair brother, this one benefits a ton of being able to start with high physicals)
-Bard
-Fighter!! (Dungeon Crasher-tripper with Imperious Command, Zhentarim Fighter-subs, AoOs, etc.)
-Some multi-ability stack monstrosity that gets just about every stat to everything. At the very least some AC-stack with Dex, Con and Wis to AC, using some of those for the combat too.Campaign Journal: Uncovering the Lost World - A Player's Diary in Low-Magic D&D (Latest Update: 8.3.2014)

Re: What would you do with these rolls?
I'd probably do something weird - like a totemist from Magic of Incarnum, a spirit shaman from Complete Divine, or a savage bard (Unearthed Arcana) who multiclasses into barbarian and then bear warrior. (heehee, bonus points if you take Perform-dance and use it while in bear form! )
Hmmm...all of those are like Primitivism Yay!

Re: What would you do with these rolls?
Well, you can just qualify for paladin. 18 Cha, 18 Str (yay, percentile Strength), 16 Wis for spells...
Seriously, though, your class is more important than your starting abilities. If you're a monk, you'll still suck. If you're a wizard, you'll still be just as amazing. Go with whatever you like playing.Last edited by Tsotha-lanti; 2008-09-01 at 06:01 AM.

Re: What would you do with these rolls?
Actually, with one more 18, I'd say he could make a very decent Monk. With 18 Str/Dex/Wis and 16 Con, 15 Wis and 12 Cha, he'd have decent To Hit and Damage on level 1, with the ability to focus on any of those stats decently, and the option of going TWF and so on if he so desires. Only two 18s doesn't cut it though - even with 3 18s, your level 1 AC is only 18 (without racial bonuses - something like Wood Elf could work decently).
One thing I forgot to mention - Bard-based Dervish would fit perfectly! You'll get Int to stuff, Str to stuff, Dex to stuff, Cha to stuff, Wis to stuff and still need Con for HP, but those numbers could just pull it off.Campaign Journal: Uncovering the Lost World - A Player's Diary in Low-Magic D&D (Latest Update: 8.3.2014)

Re: What would you do with these rolls?
I'm going to add my voice to Paladin. With the stats you rolled, you can make a good contribution to the party without stealing away the spotlight from everyone else. (Seriously. Who wants to play with a Wizard who has better stats than the party Fighter?)
As for builds, it mainly depends on if you wanted to be straight Paladin or do some sort of multiclass. This might be the perfect opportunity to use any of the Complete Adventurer multiclassing feats, such as Paladin/Monk, Paladin/Rogue, or Paladin/Bard. Bardadin is my personal favorite (obscene Cha synergy), but your mileage may vary.
If you're multiclassing, you can probably leave it at 5 levels of Paladin and then stick to your other class. Take the Complete Champion ACF for Paladin bonus feats and you'll get an extra feat in place of 2 levels of spell casting (a good deal if you're only doing 5 levels of Paladin).
If you're going straight Paladin, there's a lot of feats to choose from, but Battle Blessing is your best friend (makes most Paladin spells a swift action to cast).
Enjoy!Halbert's Cubicle - Wherein I write about gaming and . . . you know . . . stuff.

Re: What would you do with these rolls?
Arn't shapeshift druids one of the least MAD classes out there? All you really need is wisdom, as you get your strength, dex, and con from you animal forms. I am currently playing one and just made him charismatic and smart cause I had nothing else to put the points in.
