[4e] 1001 uses for Cantrips!
I, for one, am excited for 4e Cantrips. They are terribly flexible, and, best of all, completely at-will. So, let's start a list, eh?
I'm not just looking for silly uses, but actually useful ones too. Here are 10:
1) Use Light on an enemy's armor (Minor, Range 5) to prevent them from hiding for 5 minutes (no sustain).
2) Use Prestidigitation to turn a small object invisible (Standard, Range 2), then summon a Mage Hand (Minor, Range 5) and transfer the object to your hand (Move, Range 5). Put invisible object into a pocket before the end of your next turn, when it becomes visible.
3) Use Ghost Sound (Standard, Range 10) to give personal messages to your allies without being overheard.
4) Use Ghost Sound (Standard, Range 10) and Light (Minor, Range 5) on a concealed-but-unoccupied space to simulate an advancing patrol with a lantern.
5) Use Prestidigitation to produce a badge or insignia in your pocket, flash it at your target, and then put it back in your pocket before it disappears, to aide in impersonation.
6) Mage Hand to swap Implements and Weapons from your pack to your hand (Minor Action)
7) Embarrass your rivals with clever use of Ghost Sound (Standard, Range 10), soiling of garments (Prestidigitation, Range 2) and the creation of strong odors (Prestidigitation, Range 2).
8) Impress the object of your affection with clean clothes and agreeable perfume (Prestidigitation). Fetch her a drink with Mage Hand while you're at it.
9) Unlock doors by picking up visible keys (Range 5), moving them to the lock, and unlocking the door - all with Mage Hand.
10) Mark secret doors and traps for up to an hour (Prestidigitation).Last edited by Oracle_Hunter; 2008-09-04 at 11:54 AM.

Re: [4e] 1001 uses for Cantrips!
11) This one's mileage will vary by the DM, but use Mage Hand to pilfer ammunition from an opponent's quivers. (Did this with a javelin...)
12) Again, may vary by DM, but use Ghost Sound to mimic the distant roaring of a very angry dragon, possibly adding in further noises of the non-existent dragon approaching with more Ghost Sound...
13) Mage Hand distant treasures or switches. I did this on a wall to find a secret passage. 20 lb of force should be able to move quite a bit of stuff.

16) Cover the taste of a poison.
17) Make smells to go with your fart noises.
18) Make fart noises to go with your smells.
Both 17 & 18 can be blamed on the dog.Check out a bunch of stuff I wrote for my campaign world of Oz.

20.Make someone smell burnt, singe their clothes to add a nice feeling of verisimilitude to a tale of dragon fighting in the local pub

Yeah. That hasn't exactly changed with more knowledge of the situation. -Security Chief Victor Jones, formerly of the UESC Marathon.

21) Cast light on a pebble and drop it to determine the depth of a pool of water, pit, chasm, etc.
22) Substitute prestidigitation illusions for verbal descriptions ("The thief looked exactly like this")I spent an hour on the edge of dreams,
I walked between the worlds,
and when I woke I never knew
to which side I had fallen
