Two easy (maybe) questions.
Hello all,
Q1: I was sure there was a feat called twin ray somewhere, but now I cant find it. Did I just make it up or does it excist?
Q2: I am making a sorc/wild soul (ssuboptimal I know, but it suited the concept) and I'm looking for some good summoning feats. Suggestions? Except augment summoning, I already know that one. =)
Thanks

Re: Two easy (maybe) questions.
You could've posted in the 3.5 rules FAQ thread. Well, okay, I guess question 2 is beyond its scope.
I think you mean either Twin Spell or Split Ray, from Complete Arcane.
Check out Crystal Keep for more stuff.Last edited by Tsotha-lanti; 2008-10-01 at 12:14 PM.

Re: Two easy (maybe) questions.
I remember an issue of dragon magazine, not long after 3rd edition had come out, which had a section on ray-specialised meta-magic feats, and I'm fairly certain that was one of them.
I have no idea how you might track it down though, other than with crystalgeek (see tpam).

Re: Two easy (maybe) questions.
Q1 - There is, in the Expanded Psionics Handbook iirc. I don't think it was called twin ray, but it gave that effect. Just browse the table of metapsionic feats.
Q2 - The EPH also has some feats that boost constructs, if you're summoning those.
So, sorc/wild soul planning to go cerebremancer? I always preferred the spontaneous casting of the sorcerer to the wizard, but as psions are already spontaneous casters I personally never saw the appeal of the wild soul, especially since a psion could be RPed the same way. Well, to each his (or her) own. It sounds like an interesting concept, so have fun with it.

Re: Two easy (maybe) questions.
Oh, sorry, missed that one. If any moderators wishes to move the thread, please do so.
Yeah, I found those, but neither fits my memory... I might have just mixed them up. I remember a feat that worked like twin spell, but only on rays.

Re: Two easy (maybe) questions.
Oh, my... you are a fast bunch =)
My response were to Tsotha-lanti of course.
Danzaver and mangosta71 thank you both, I'll look into that.
Wild soul fom complete mage BTW, the one with connections to fey. Is there a psionic one too? Confusing. ^^

Re: Two easy (maybe) questions.
I don't think there is a psionic Wild Soul. There's a Wilder, and a Soulknife, though.

Re: Two easy (maybe) questions.
Wild Soul is a sorc PrC that loses caster levels, and gains some sort of "chaos magic" I think.

Re: Two easy (maybe) questions.
I would suggest specializing in Conjuration and taking one or all of the Conjurer specialist substitutions on the SRD. If nothing else, take the one that changes summoning spells from full round actions to standard actions.

Re: Two easy (maybe) questions.
Grab Extend Spell, or Rapid Spell for your Summons.
Maybe see if you can get Summon Elemental as per the feat (although you'll eventually get the Spell anyway that does exactly the same). Earth Elementals are your friend.

Re: Two easy (maybe) questions.
A1:
Split Ray, Complete Arcane pg 83. Essentially your ray affects another target.
Twin Spell, Complete Arcane 84. Essentially cast the same spell twice at once.
A2:
Its easier to just link you to the Summoning Handbook

Re: Two easy (maybe) questions.
A wild soul is a PrC that looses one spellcasting level (sucks) but gains more spells known (win). And gets to summon specific creatures without casting spells.
Hardly a powerful choice, but it fits the concept, and the group is more underpowered than overpowered, so its ok. =) We are three players, a bard, a fighter, an NPC dwarf that we all hate, and me.
I dont have the book with me to work, so I dont know if it is a spell like ability, or something else. I think they counts as spells, so normal feats would work... but I am not sure. Does any of you know?
Too bad, a twin ray feat would be awesome.
