Re: OOTS #601 - The Discussion Thread
Poor, poor Roy.
His optimism seems sadly misplaced.Remember how I was wishing for the peace of oblivion a minute ago?
Yeah. That hasn't exactly changed with more knowledge of the situation. -Security Chief Victor Jones, formerly of the UESC Marathon.

Pandas have bad taste in humour then.
Me likes puns! This made me smile.

Re: OOTS #601 - The Discussion Thread
Heh. Glad for the return to humor. Good comic.
A handful of true friends, an infinite supply of sodas, a collection of bad movies, and a full supply of webcomics are all one really needs to be happy.

Re: OOTS #601 - The Discussion Thread
I lol'd at the books Eugene was carrying.
"I, Robot"
"Frankenstein"
"Everything you needed to know about bone golems but were afraid to ask"
Also, the last three panels. I think I like Eugene now.Last edited by Belkster11; 2008-10-17 at 02:38 PM.

Ah, yes. Asimov, Shelley and Promethean, all in one wizard's hands. Resourceful. :)
There are thousands of good reasons magic doesn't rule the world. They're called mages. - Slightly misquoted Pratchett

Re: OOTS #601 - The Discussion Thread
You have to wonder what that kind of book would be filled with...
That, and why they've been staying in place for that long. Is the situation still heavy by now?
I just realized... Roy REALLY sounds like a girl with the way he phrased that last line. Hm...Last edited by Ruduen; 2008-10-17 at 02:39 PM.

Re: OOTS #601 - The Discussion Thread
I think the punchline could use some re-wording. It's too... forced at the moment.
The above post made a lot more sense in my head.

Re: OOTS #601 - The Discussion Thread
So they've waited for eight days for this cleric of Loki to show up?
...BTW, shouldn't Roy need a True Res anyway? He's been dead for quite a while... and True Res doesn't need the original body...

Re: OOTS #601 - The Discussion Thread
They're just braiding each other's hair and filing their toenails. They don't have to be smiling about it. Maybe they're just bored and are waiting for Old Blind Pete for something.

Re: OOTS #601 - The Discussion Thread
Resurrection is good for one year per caster level, so no, as long as they get the body, plain old Resurrection will suffice.
True Resurrection doesn't need the body, but does need a 17th level cleric...a considerably harder thing to find than a body whose general location they already know.

Re: OOTS #601 - The Discussion Thread
"Cold damage" ... Eugene's books ... "perfect fighter." That's a lot of funny packed in tight! That cranky old man brings the comedy.

I don't actually play D&D. I do play:
Magic: the Gathering Online (with FREE tournaments at Gatherling)
DC Universe, my surprisingly good CoH replacement
Planetside 2, MMO-meets-FPS (and the first shooter I've liked in ages).
Simunomics - a massive multiplayer Business Simulation Game. Browser-based, free to play.

..Man, it's weird to see Eugene say "Father," when it isn't in reference to him.
And heh, I'm pretty curious as to why they're just sitting around, myself.

Re: OOTS #601 - The Discussion Thread
1. Only really high level clerics can cast it.
2. It costs 15,000GP more than Resurrection.
3. Both Res and True Res have the same time limit: 10 years per caster level.
Looks like Eugene is asserting his role as the comic's Jerkass. And I'm intrigued as to what Celia and Haley are up to."They couldn't know that the points from the mainline to the siding were frozen, and the signal should have been set at 'DANGER', but snow had forced it down."
