Battle-theme for a Paladin/Determinator [Exalted]
My DM insists upon each character having a theme-song, and I can't really find anything suitable without lyrics.
Short description: A Compassion 6 Will 10 Knight in shining armor, he holds a severe code of honor and will not lie or employ deceit for any reason except saving the lives of others. In battle he makes no attempt at blocking or evading attacks - he just shrugs them off (Mechanically, he is practically immune to Damage), he is extremely direct and blunt in his approach to all situations and will just go in a straight line toward his destination, ignoring obstacles and attacks.
Thanks.

The Superman theme?

Re: Battle-theme for a Paladin/Determinator [Exalted]
Frog's theme from Chrono Trigger is very noble and paladinish:

Sanger from SRW practically uses the same tactics as this guy:

This. Possibly the single most triumphant piece of music ever written.

I'd have said "Libera Me" from Gurren-Lagann, but that lacks an awesome video.
And if you're going to use hyperbole, at least use it for symphonic music. Just for example.Last edited by Nerd-o-rama; 2008-11-10 at 02:39 PM. Reason: This time for sure

Re: Battle-theme for a Paladin/Determinator [Exalted]
My question is what your doing with compassion beyond the human limits while your fighting people in battle. Also, are you beyond essence 6?
Eh, not to be much a rules lawyer.. compassion 6 is just a tad extreme. And by tad, I mean technically you should love everything, since white wolf can only think in extremes, and compassion only goes up to 5.
That being said, I suggest 10 minutes of awesome. Gladiator soundtrack: The Battle.

Re: Battle-theme for a Paladin/Determinator [Exalted]
Thanks, all.
For now I think I narrowed it down to this list:
Pride
The Sword that Cleaves Evil (Instrumental)
Alt Eisen
Frog's Theme
Against Orochoi (or however its called- Okami Theme)
Thoughts?
Poison Fish: I am playing First Edition, so I took the merit True Paragon (Which reminds me, due to his flaws, all his Essence is Peripheral and thus he's constantly a lighthouse when he fights)- it lets you rise one Virtue to 6 if your nature is Paragon and if you never break your personal code for a reason other than The Great Curse.
He only ever employs lethal maneuvers against creatures who cannot be redeemed or incapacitated, the rest of the time he goes for the Nanoha approach of knocking everything out while preaching/power of friendship until they straighten up- using a wooden training sword against the unwitting pawns of evil, he reserves his Daiklave for the truly wicked.Last edited by Grey Paladin; 2008-11-10 at 03:15 PM.

Eh, I suppose it's just differences in how one views compassion. Nanoha esque compassion I always viewed as a 4.

Re: Battle-theme for a Paladin/Determinator [Exalted]
I don't really see how you can get more compassionate than making attempts at rehabilitating the incarnations of evil you just subdued at a great cost while refusing to use Essence because they must (and inevitably will) choose good out of their own free will.

I wouldn't dismiss the Imperial March from Star Wars. (which also has no lyrics)
