    Default Help with a character.

I just joined a new group and for the first time I'm making a barbarian. I don't really know what to take as feats so I wanted some advice upon it. The books availble to me are as follows: Player's handbook 1 & 2, Heros of horror, complete adventurer, complete arcane, tome of battle, and the book of vile darkness. Thank you in advance.

Power Attack. Every good meleeer should have power attack. I also enjoy improved sunder, but quite a few people don't.

Power Attack seconded! Leap Attack is another good one. Extra Rage can be good if you need to rage often. Destructive Rage might prove useful for smashing up stuff, too. What level?

We are at level one at the moment. So far I've taken weapon focus for my greataxe. I was planing on taking power attack and cleave but beyond that I am drawing a blank. Which books have extra rage and destructive rage?

Drop Weapon Focus. It sucks(though, admittedly, less at level 1 than other times). Power Attack, Leap Attack, Shock Trooper, of course. Don't do Destructive Rage. It's good for Sunder-based builds, but Sunder-based builds will make your allies hate you. Extra Rage is in CWar and Masters of the Wild. Very nice at low levels or in builds that PrC out. If you can, borrow a copy of CWar. It's vital to most melee builds.

I play primarily 3.5 D&D. Most of my advice will be based off of this. If my advice doesn't apply, specify a version in your post.

    Oh yes, Shock Trooper!

Actually, Destructive Rage is of no use for Sundering, as Break DCs do not matter in that situation. I was suggesting it more for that Hulk smash stuff/thog smash puny prison (http://www.giantitp.com/comics/oots0387.html) kind of stuff, which some might find cool. Anyway, there's more Rage Feats here: http://www.traykon.com/feats/rage.php
