Re: Slayer's Seemingly Sweet and Socially Silly Random Banter # 107
*sigh*
So, after being trawled around town reluctantly entering into every clothing shop we have I bought the outfit.
Now I have to pack.
I hate packing; but seeing as I'm doing it myself I can put in as many books as I want/need.
I'm thinking eight or nine. Plus the stuff I need to read as well, and my coursework.
*glances at suitcase*
I can put it off a bit longer.

Oxford interview.
Planning on:
The Black Magician Trilogy - 1542 pages. Should last the journey up.
Lords and Ladies
Night Watch
I'm going to finish off Good Omens too.
Then maybe three or four others? Thos're the ones I don't really know about.

How long are you going to be over there that you need much more than that?
Pretty impressive even for the there and back again of the flight itself...

That's is so sigged. And possibly Coidzors' response if both permissions are received.
@Coidzor: NO PLANES! Planes are more terrifying to me than trains, and I'm taking a train up.
Six hours up there; then I'm there until possibly Wednesday then six hours down.
I was timed when I was reading this week, but I didn't realise it so I was going normal speed. I average one page every fifteen seconds. Note: that is an average. I can read a lot faster.
I think at one point Female Anime E Lit Friend said I was reading a page every six seconds.
I hate planes and I read way too fast.

No need to ask for permission, though I thank you for the asking. You're welcome to it.
I don't know whether to envy, pity, or lust after you now. Excuse me while I ponder this.
That, and I'm currently wondering about the state of the vaunted english railway system.

Slow running on Sundays. But the English railway died in the 60s. Steam was removed for the most part except where people rebelled.

Urgh...
I have succumbed...
After insistence from four of my friends, I tried out the Bleach manga five days ago, despite my loathing of anime and manga...
Today, I finished all 337 chapters that are online.
I'm ashamed at my weak will.Homebrew

There are people that read faster than that though. It was on the news when the last Harry Potter book came out

Re: Slayer's Seemingly Sweet and Socially Silly Random Banter # 107
@Edge: try reading the Inuyasha manga - 558 chapters, but it's complete which is good. I think that took me three days to read; had other things to do at the time.
Time it took for me to start reading it: three months. Constant nagging from Best Friend had me succumb. 'Twas quite good.
And I still want to call you Stig. Heh; you're The Stigs' Playground Cousin.
And why the abhorrence of anime and manga?
@Destro:I've been 'training' since I was four. She was shocked too when she worked out the average. Silly math student.
@Sub Zero: do not speak of that series in front of me for 'twas not good. I did leisurely read my way through book five in five hours though. It may have been agony though as I forgot what had happened less than five minutes after I finished the book.

Re: Slayer's Seemingly Sweet and Socially Silly Random Banter # 107
And me since I was around five. I can burn through a regular sized novel in a few hours, barring distractions. I'm fast, just not that fast. Wouldn't that be a fun contest though? "Read-off" in the playground. You get a list of books and you post your final time for each one. Yes, Curly would win, but it would still be awesome.

Re: Slayer's Seemingly Sweet and Socially Silly Random Banter # 107
It's decent up through the Soul Society arc (up to ch 170~ish). It starts going downhill pretty bad from there.
You mean that rhetorically, right? As in "this is an example of a really long manga series" not "actually go and read Inuyasha." Right?
Anyway, if you're daunted by a large amount of chapters, I'll suggest Vinland Saga for your fighty manga needs. It's relatively young, so there isn't a huge chapter buildup yet.
But don't take my word for it. *ba-doop-boop*Originally Posted by I'm da Rogue!

"Do you know that one song?"
No, I don't know any songs. You're not going to buy anything. Stop arguing with your toothless husband about whether it was Cher or Heart. Google it. Far away from here. We closed 10 minutes ago. Stop asking me dumb questions so I can do paperwork!!!Johann Krauss by Recaiden

Can you kill the lights and tell them the power went out?
Alternatively, ask them to leave. If they don't, inform them they're now trespassing and alert the authorities.

Re: Slayer's Seemingly Sweet and Socially Silly Random Banter # 107
They're gone. I'm done. They said "Oh, yay, we made it! We've got 5 minutes!" when they walked in, then stayed for 30. If they had just wandered around and poked things quietly, I wouldn't have cared. But they had dumb questions. Look, go home, do your research, go holiday shopping when you know what the hell you want, and it's not 2130.

Huh... So my friends tell me that I remind them of Dexter. I thought that was pretty cool, up until the point I actually looked him up. I'm not sure I like being compared to a sociopathic serial killer.
