Default Familiar Spell: what to give?

I'm currently in the process of creating a 22 Sorceror character, and I'm trying to decide on what to give my Celestial Tiny Viper for a spell.

Alignment is NG, CHA is 20.

Any spell within the requirements for Familiar spell qualifies:

    8th level or lower
    NO XP cost.
    NO Material component cost >1g.

I'm wavering between Prismatic Spray, Waves of Exhaustion, and Disentegrate, but I am open to suggestion.

    ALL 3.x books are OPEN.
My spell list is of no consequence in this campaign.

    Disintegrate.

"What's your familiar gonna do to...." *turns to dust*
If there's a rule, there's someone out there trying to figure out how to get around it just to piss off his DM.

    True.

And an extra casting of Greater Open per day could help lots...

    Still...

Otto's Irresistable Dance, maybe? That may be my favorite spell.

Or would Anti-magic Field work here? (I am in the back, outside of the AMF... the hostile caster is inside it... together with my friend with the very large sword...)

Or, of the three chosen, Prismatic Spray sounds like a fun one... Watch the "cute little snake" drop a rainbow of colors that incapacitates your foes...

However, good choices, all. I might be inclined to go for a spell that benefits by not requiring you to be the one to cast it e.g. a touch spell...

Geas/quest and temporal stasis are two of my favorites.

    Double-Check the limits, Fax.

Temporal Stasis has a 5000g material component. The limit is 1g(exclusive)

Geas might work. My only issue is the 10 minute Casting time...

Venomfire (Serpent Kingdoms, p. 155) would give your viper 22d6 acid damage on a bite, no save. Only a 3rd level spell, though.

I don't think I've ever heard of that book.

    I'll have to check.

GSC AND GSE both seem useful, as well...

This is going to be harder than I thought.
