Touching your friends?
From the SRD
Holding the Charge: If you don’t discharge the spell in the round when you cast the spell, you can hold the discharge of the spell (hold the charge) indefinitely. You can continue to make touch attacks round after round. You can touch one friend as a standard action or up to six friends as a full-round action. If you touch anything or anyone while holding a charge, even unintentionally, the spell discharges. If you cast another spell, the touch spell dissipates. Alternatively, you may make a normal unarmed attack (or an attack with a natural weapon) while holding a charge. In this case, you aren’t considered armed and you provoke attacks of opportunity as normal for the attack. (If your unarmed attack or natural weapon attack doesn’t provoke attacks of opportunity, neither does this attack.) If the attack hits, you deal normal damage for your unarmed attack or natural weapon and the spell discharges. If the attack misses, you are still holding the charge.
I can't think of a spell that would give you multiple charges that you'd want to touch allies with. Are there any?
Or, does this mean, as a full-round action, you can use a single-charge spell on 6 allies? That doesn't even make sense...Check out a bunch of stuff I wrote for my campaign world of Oz.
SpoilerI am the Burley, formerly known as Burley Warlock. I got my name changed. Please remember me...

Re: Touching your friends?
Only something cast by a War Weaver, which overrides that by saying it's a move action.

Re: Touching your friends?
Maybe it's for powers/spells like planeshift, where you can take up to X people with you at a time?

Re: Touching your friends?
The issue here is whether these people are defined byt he rules as Family, Lovers, Friends, Compatriots, Companions, Cohorts, Henchmen, Hirelings, or Associates. See Table 69 in the Characters and Relationships System Addendum Document, also known as The Six Little Orange Books.

Re: Touching your friends?
I'm trying to think up some horrible/creepy/cheesy pun or joke about touching people, but I've only got 3 hours sleep last night. Ugh, essays.
I'll settle for this instead.

Re: Touching your friends?
Teleport, greater teleport, dimension door, and wind walk are all buffs with touch range that allow multiple targets. Yeah, most spells like this are teleportation spells, and those that aren't still tend to be transport spells.
The individual spell descriptions indicate how many targets a spell can affect. If it just says "Creature touched," then it can only affect a single target.Last edited by Shhalahr Windrider; 2008-12-05 at 12:31 PM.
