[3.5] Tapping the collective minds of the Playground
So, I'm working on a personal project (which I hope to post up here). At the moment, I need examples of people and characters with high ability scores (and low if you like; high is more important). I am dividing them into 4 categories:
Literature and Mythology (ie, non-modern examples... anything before the end of WWII)
Western Pop Culture (TV, Movies, Comic Books, American/British/French/Canadian Video Games)
Eastern Pop Culture (Anime, manga, Japanese Video Games, Kung Fu movies and others that have been popularly translated)
Real Life (If it isn't obvious, please specify your reasoning. Don't mention any controversial possible ability scores: while Hitler, Stalin and others are controversial, few argue that they weren't charismatic; assessing the intelligence or wisdom of any current leader... or even recent leader, is controversial)
I'm quite curious what you guys will think up...Last edited by paladin_carvin; 2008-12-13 at 05:38 PM.

Re: [3.5] Tapping the collective minds of the Playground
Constitution for RL should definitely include Rasputin.
If you don't know, read how he died."Happiness is the meaning and the purpose of life, the whole aim and end of human existence"
"Everything can be taken from a man but one thing: the last of the human freedoms—to choose one’s attitude in any given set of circumstances, to choose one’s own way."
"When we are no longer able to change a situation, we are challenged to change ourselves."

Re: [3.5] Tapping the collective minds of the Playground
I'm sure Martin Luther King and Gandhi would have arguably high Charisma as well, as they were able to communicate their ideals in a lasting manner that made powerful impressions on other people.

I play primarily 3.5 D&D. Most of my advice will be based off of this. If my advice doesn't apply, specify a version in your post.

Re: [3.5] Tapping the collective minds of the Playground
Ajax: strength (strongest of the Achaeans), maybe constitution too since he was a protector and pretty much never got hurt.

TOGC's 3.5e Spell/etc Cards: rpgnow / drivethru rpg
Utilities: Magic Item Shop Generator (Req. MS Excel), Balanced Low Magic Item System

Re: [3.5] Tapping the collective minds of the Playground
Double that mention.
Myth:
Gilgamesh: All physical stats (Mesopotamian)
King Arthur: Charisma, Strength (English)
Susanoo: Wisdom (Japanese - Shinto. God of the Sea and storms.)
Thor: Charisma (Norse. Disguise check joke inherent. He dressed up in a dress to 'crash a wedding')
Medea: Intelligence (Greek)
kyuubi no kitsune: Wisdom and Intelligence to the highest degree (omniscience) (Japanese, partially borrowed from Chinese. Nine Tailed Fox. When a fox's tail split for the 8th time (producing the 9th tail), they turn a pure white or gold and are said to gain omniscience)
Cúchulainn: Dexterity, low Wisdom (Irish, he never missed. However, had a tendency to break out in to harsh rages)
Perceval: Constitution (English)
Medusa: Charis........ suddenly different type of Charisma. (Greek)
Eastern Pop Culture:
Keiichi: Charisma, Strength... possibly. That baseball bat is dangerous at least. (Group leader, even managing to summon an entire town for a task)
Rena: Wisdom, Dexterity. Very quick to perceive the nature of her fellows, and quite well trained with a water gun.
Rika: Constitution, WisdomSpoilerLived through a constant time loop. The total combined time was mentioned to be a thousand years. Only near the end did she start to give up.
Satoko: Intelligence, low Wisdom. Trap master, and cunning. However, is highly paranoid.
Mion: Intelligence (and a bit of charisma). Together (or with the forced inclusion of, or vice versa) set up many a wise, cunning plan.
Shion: Intelligence, as Shion, but add in "tricking entire police force and friends"
Hanyuu: .... Charisma? Maybe? (Cute?)
(all from Higurashi no Naku Koro ni)
Western Pop Culture:
Tony Stark: Intelligence, Intelligence, Intelligence
Bruce Banner: Intelligence, Intellige.... STRENGTH
Peter Parker: Dexterity, Strength, Wisdom, Constitution
Logan: Strength, CONSTITUTION, Charisma
RL:
Sasaki Kojiro: Dexterity (Japanese)
Sun Tzu: Intelligence (Chinese)
Michael Phelps: ConstitutionLast edited by Reinboom; 2008-12-13 at 09:47 PM.

Aha! Ajax! Yes, someone I actually know, hoo hoo. I'd put him up as Strength. Achilles would be constitution.

Strength/Dex/Con: See any of the main characters/villains from Dragon Ball Z.
