Re: A Test of your Prowers, The Endless Guantlet
Frederic saw some orcs? Bugbears? Goblins? He has heard about this creatures, but never seen one before. He had a bad feeling in his stomach. And that they were heavy armed, didn't make it better.
But they haven't recognized Frederic and Orth yet. He stood still and listened what they were saying.
Spoiler: Rolllisten: (1d20+2)[13]
And because he couldn't understand what they were saying, Frederic made a short prayer, looked over to Orth and signaled him to come with him, took a deep breath and stepped forward
Hey there! he shouted to the strangers What are you doing here and why are you wearing armor and sword? Because of guys like you we have to patrol! Tell me! The thin guy tried to be as mighty as he could, with his hands on his sword.

Re: A Test of your Prowers, The Endless Guantlet
Thank you, hopefully we can find her.
Robina will take her leave and softly walk over to the boy on the swings.
Hi there. You are Malachai right? We're trying to find M'Kyla. Can you help us?
If he opens up, she will try to establish places she liked to go, if she found somewhere new like The Field of Mushrooms right next to the Big Cave of Obvious Monsters, if she had a new friend, was something bothering her and the like

Re: A Test of your Prowers, The Endless Guantlet
Jon holds his thoughts of sight versus distances in the background has he watches everyone taking off. After freeing his bow from his back to hand carry, he too joins the jaunt at a double move. Once spotting the source of the original sound, Jon will move to try and cut off escape routes and keep the source of trouble hemmed in.
Ready action: once escape routes appear to be cut off by the school groups' positioning then knock an arrow and aim.

[SPOILER=school party]
Spoiler: Listen check DC 12
Success means you heard Oorths whistle blow, you can alert your friends, at full sprint ill say you can get to them in around 10 rounds.
Otherwise:
Robina attempts to talk to the child, upon her approach he doesn't seem to welcome her with friendliness.
Malachai - "y-your with the guard right? yes, yes i know her. are you going to find her? i miss her so bad.." [/SPOIILER]
Spoiler: Perimeter detail.
Oorth rushes into the middle of the group aiming for the largest one in the back in an attempt to surprise the goblinoids, he fails miserably.
Monsters initatitves (for the sake of everything sane, the monsters will all act on one initiative unless otherwise stated.)
Initiative = (1d20+1)[12]

Re: A Test of your Prowers, The Endless Guantlet
Hey Orth, why had you attacked him? Do you know, what they wanted here?
Frederic has no problem with it that they killed the monsters, he just thought a reason could have been useful.

Re: A Test of your Prowers, The Endless Guantlet
Orth looks around and then cleans his blade on the clothing of the fallen before putting it up and shrugs slightly
my limited experience in nature ( read as know:nature lol) has taught me that goblinkind is rarely friendly. ..especially the kind that is sneaking armored around a town that is near its boiling point, good job covering our backs btw! That has to be why the fiends could not strike me Orth seems quite sure thats the only way he was missed multiple times since he has never had support in battle before

Re: A Test of your Prowers, The Endless Guantlet
Damn. Either of you got hurt? No. Good job. Someone cover me please while I check them, one of them might still be alive and able to tell us something but I don't want a dagger in my guts trying to find out.
If neither of her comrades need attention Robina will quickly check to see if any of the enemy are still alive or can be stabilised and if not commence searching the bodies

Oorrr-itthhh...(heavy pant to let out a bellow)...Freee-dd-rrickk?
Spot check for more monsters (1d20+2)[5]
Spot check to see if our whistling caused enough clamor get more guards coming to us (1d20+2)[17]
Spot check to see the direction the band of slain monsters came from (1d20+2)[15]
OOC: each roll only needed if you the DM deem needed
Did...Any...See...Where...Came...From This long lapse of Discipline on Jon part, is very disconcerting, but is easily read as a smiling relief to see his fellows well and a need for breath.
Taking a moment longer to breathe, horizon scan, and compose, Jon seems to get back to the norm of his behavior. Waiting for all to talk until he sees a chance to launch into a small speech.
You both did amazingly well, but when you find one band of monsters, there are more. This war may have displaced a nest...We should either send a runner to the militia base and look for the new nest, or all go back and see if we can get some back up. Plus we didn't get too much useful information at the school. Still I'm glad... Another smile flashes across Jon's face, before it looks back at the base.Last edited by JonMarker2; 2018-05-20 at 05:50 PM. Reason: you don't say pant

Re: A Test of your Prowers, The Endless Guantlet
Ander looks around at the destruction to notice any signs of life. There are none. The huge gashes of battle have left these monsters nothing but large sulking husks of their former selves that will eventually be food for the earth.
John in his stint to be of help notices nothing out of the ordinary. There's not even a clamouring (that can be seen) of other guards coming their way. And beyond where the monsters lay he doesn't notice anything about the direction in which they came from.
Spoiler: wis dc 12it stands to reason that because this is the south area of the village the only thing beyond this is the southern mountain range. Their base probably is there somewhere.

Robina will gather their weapons, and any other items that look worth taking as well as strip them of their armour if it looks like worth taking.
There are likely to be more of them, we should report to the Sergeant. Then maybe get a team out here to remove the bodies. If we leave them out in the open it'll attract something nasty, or they'll turn into something nastierLast edited by wilphe; 2018-05-20 at 10:12 PM.
