Re: The Mandalorian: First Trailer
Spoiler: Ep 6I guess that depends on whether: 1) each distress transmitter sends a unique signal that can be recognized or if it’s a standardized thing and 2) whether they knew the pilot was already dead.
Basically we don’t know how much they knew about the situation. But still it’s odd that they just blew everything up rather than just the gunship and the station’s defenses.
Edit
SpoilerActually rewatching the scene we don't see the space station explode so it's likely the X-wings only took aout its armamaents and then the New Republic investigated.Last edited by Fyraltari; 2019-12-15 at 06:18 AM.

Re: The Mandalorian: First Trailer
I've caught up on theshow and am enjoying it a great deal. Only two significant complaints so far, one general and one specific.
General complaint: Learn a lesson from the complaints about the last season of Game of Thrones. I understand some of the action occurs at night, but it is so dark that I can't tell who is doing what. And I'm watching in a blacked out room at night.
Spoiler: Specific complaint episode 6So he escapes the cell by incapacitating a prison droid and using its data arm (or whatever they call it) to open the cell. But why is there a data port in the cell in the first place? Outside the cell I could see, but I can think of no legitimate reason to have one on the inside. Especially since there are probably some droid prisoners on the ship."That's a horrible idea! What time?"
T-Shirt given to me by a good friend.. "in fairness, I was unsupervised at the time".

Re: The Mandalorian: First Trailer
Spoiler: Eps 6
The action was nice, but the plot and characters not so much. This is the HUGE problem with the silly eight epsiode season: no time. Mal does the job for no reason, we meet the crew in seconds, and there is just about zero plot.....because the epsiode is full of fight seceans that eat up all the screen time. This is a good example of a story that should have been a two parter.
ALSO....I'm really not likling the Disney Rated G for Kids. Sigh. Things like when they lock up the characters...whatever.
Why does Mal go from TRYING to kill them to 'oh I'll just knock them out and put them in a cell".
Spoiler: Beacon
Well it IS a proity one PRISON SHIP beacon. The ONLY way you have it...is if you just did a heist on a prison ship. It's very much getting caught red handed.

Re: The Mandalorian: First Trailer
What's weirder is that it also does it to me if I try watching it through the forum (Youtube link works just fine, though).

Re: The Mandalorian: First Trailer
SpoilerMal? I'm getting Firefly flashbacks.
The show gives me the impression that the main character is trying to get some kind of redemption. Episode 6 hints at a past soaked in blood. The characters he shares history with are very unsympathetic and violent. And, while they clearly don't like him, they don't think he's soft.
So far, almost everyone he's killed has been either a droid, or else trying to kill him or the child.
The exception to this is the jawas he disintegrated, but they were stripping his ship and destroyed his livelihood.
In the Old West, horse thieves were hanged, and with good reason.Last edited by Leewei; 2019-12-17 at 01:56 PM.

Re: The Mandalorian: First Trailer
Pretty sure the raiders back in episode 4 couldn’t care less about him and the kid. And the bullies from episode 1 were a danger to his target but not himself.

Re: The Mandalorian: First Trailer
Spoiler: Chapter 7IG-11'S BACK, BABY!
OK, so I don't actualy know if he's back. I'm tempted to think so since despiye what Kuill said, IG droids are built for a single purpose. On the other hand, we have no reason to distrust him, abs his work has been fantastic so far. He may come in to play next episode
Aside from that... Holy crap there was so much to take in. ****s gonna go down in the finale. Which, really, I expected, but still. They've built it up really well.

Re: The Mandalorian: First Trailer
Crap, I'm sorry! Done. Glad I kept that pretty short and didn't do a full review, but still, sorry about that.
So, uh, next chapter is out. They skated it for Wednesday due to TROS coming out Friday.
Spoiler: More Chapter 7Also, I really loved Darth Baby Yoda.

Re: The Mandalorian: First Trailer
Spoiler: Episode 7
A good episode which raises some questions.
Kuill served the imperials for three human lifetimes?
...
This would seem to imply that the empire that they refer to is not Palpatine's empire - but rather a separate one either in the past or the future.
If it is the past than I suppose the baby could actually be Yoda.
If it is the more distant past then they could have Revan did take out Mandolore and scattered the tribes and there was an Empire around that time also.
The most likely option might be to say that Kuill served three times longer than most human captives lived - and that it was Palpatine's empire, but that would seem a weird way to phrase things without someone seeking clarification.

Re: The Mandalorian: First Trailer
Spoiler: ClarificationThe baby is 100% not Yoda. The Mandalorian takes place 5 years after Return of the Jedi. We see the Mandalorian as a child during the Clone Wars. We see Separatist droids fighting. We see stormtroopers and biker scouts. We see the Imperial cog, Cara Dune has a Rebellion symbol tattooed on her, she fought with the Rebellion against the Empire, Mayfeld is a former Imperial sharpshooter, etc. etc. etc.
It was a turn of phrase, I'm guessing. The amount of work he did, not the literal time it took.

Re: The Mandalorian: First Trailer
Spoiler: Possibly
Likely even - but none of that would prevent it being 200 years after return of the Jedi (and other then laziness on costumes/names being 2000 years before hand if they wanted to introduce an earlier empire/rebellion, a whole history repeats itself thing).
Is the five years after Return of the Jedi ever clearly established "five years since the second death star experienced catastrophic structural failure", "five years since the galactic leader vanished in the chaos of the battle of Endor" etc?

Re: The Mandalorian: First Trailer
Spoiler: Very Well
I don't remember the clone wars being mentioned specifically, nor Endor being mentioned.
But I likely just missed it (didn't particularly like episode 4 and so might have glossed over some elements).
Pity if baby was Yoda I would have had a good bit of entertainment at people scratching their heads at the choice.
Instead I will go back to my earlier pet theory, the show is about the baby becoming a foundling (I think is the term they used) and eventually becoming a mandalorian - i.e the title is referring to the baby not the guy in armour.

Re: The Mandalorian: First Trailer
SpoilerIt's small details you missed, yeah. Cara Dune specifically says most of her action was "mopping up after Endor" in Chapter 4, and Chapters 1 and 3 both show Super Battle Droids (you can see it in the first trailer as well). They're all pretty quick and easy to miss. Though the AT-ST is pretty prominent and clearly an Imperial design from the Galactic Empire.

Re: The Mandalorian: First Trailer
Spoiler: Epsiode 7
Well, finnaly back to the main story....
It was a bit obvious trap....maybe Mando should have protected Baby Yoda better? Maybe kept him on the ship? Maybe had him stay with Nick Noltie on the other planet? Maybe make like a little Muppet Baby?
The teradactyal attack was nice....but why were they laser proof? And if Carl Weathers lived on Dino Planet, would he not KNOW about the giant poisonous man eating Teradactyls?
Spoiler: Baby Yoda could be.......
A CLONE of Yoda. Maybe Yoda cloned himself some time around move 2 or 3. Or maybe the Emperor cloned Yoda with a plan to make an Evil Yoda or maybe steal it's Force power.
Maybe the Yoda race is one of the types of life forms that 'splits' a part of it self off to make a baby clone (some life on Earth does this).
OR, my big theory is that 'Yoda' is a Force Angel: that ''the Force" makes a living being every 1,000 years or so to teach lifeforms about the Force and be a guide. Yoda was a Jedi, but the Force does not take sides, so the 'next' one could be a Sith (even more likely as we know Baby Yoda has both Light and Dark powers).
