Is there an announcement that I've missed? There's a Girl Genius animated series on IMDb.

    https://www.imdb.com/title/tt8228254/

EDIT: After a small bit of internet sleuthing, I've come up with...nothing? The studio 's website is bare-bones, and there's nothing on the GG blog or website that I can find mentioning this. Can anyone else shed some light on this?

Yeah, luckily for the existence of reality, its basically the top 1% sparks that come along like 2-3 a generation tops who are capable of doing things that risk on such a large scale. They also tend to be the ones who NORMALLY stay more rational than regular sparks so dont run too far off the rails like this

As a hypothesis, sparks that can destroy reality but lack good risk management skills are the ones that destroy themselves early on - their first creation does them in, or the Baron or Othar or some other established power says "Nope. This one's got to go".

Concur that "I will smack all of you so hard!" is a thread title candidate.

Agatha in panel #4 is truly terrifying in her total lack of fear, if you take my meaning.

That was my immediate reaction, but Violetta looks more like Moloch in "mad panic" mode than in "keeping sparks (mostly) in order" mode. But she does seem to have inherited the skills...

They ran a Kickstarter for this a few months ago. Go back to one of the strips in, oh, August and read the noted Kaja puts below the comic.

With this one, I'm beginning to think that maybe "Kill all the sparks" was the right idea. I mean, the idea of one spark, in one room, doing something so extreme that it shunts all of the earth into another reality, why, that sounds like the premise of an anime series (or 20 :-)

Heh, I just started re-reading an older fanfic, Spark of Genius because I did an archive binge of this comic. Xander dresses up for halloween as the grandchild of agatha, gil, othar, and der kestle (its girl genius, they found a way) And gets sucked into a portal that drops him off in the DC universe. Its kinda hilarious how fast a super spark can throw even such a high powered setting off the rails. Its still the first third of the fic and he has already broken into the batcave to steal the headless amazo robot, gotten himself enough nth metal that using SCIENCE he has made himself immune to magic and now can fly, be super fast, etc etc etc. Oh, and dealt with one of the batman versus dracula storylines, he isnt sure which it would have been as he wasnt willing to sit back and risk it being one of the bad outcomes. Too bad its abandoned, it was a lot of fun. And thats not even close to all of the crazy stuff he has already done by this point.

It's tempting, but I think the Spark is like hemophilia. Roughly one third of babies born with the gene seem to have it as a mutation. Apparently, it's just a way human genes are prone to breaking.

So, my guess is a fair number of sparks are the same. While the trait obviously runs in families, it also appears spontaneously. Killing all sparks wouldn't remove the trait, it would simply eliminate all the sparks who have learned to train young sparks to be less of a threat to the fabric of the universe.

Also, on the plus side, sparks who survive past the "I will show them all!" phase (the common last entry in many a new spark's diary) seem to be pretty good at bending the laws of physic so their crazy idea DOESN'T blow up the planet, even if it really should.

That's a new GG computer game, "Adventures in Castle Heterodyne" not a series. The series thing on the IMDB appears to be a bit of vaporware that's been floating around for years now.

Also, unless I'm much mistaken, she told Gil and Tarvek to stop flirting with each other. Menage a trois, is menagable?
Agatha in the penultimate panel is very much Scary Madgirl Spark Agatha.

"As for not dooming the earth - well - that's more of a lifetime goal, actually" might be too long for a thread title, but it does sum up Agatha's lifestyle choices pretty well.

dooming the earth on the other hand is more of a „long weekend“ project.

Well, it is less a deliberate project and more a random side effect, but as long as science gets done, sparks have roughly the same attitude toward their doom-bringing accidents as Scully form Brooklyn 99 toward his heart attacks: Mine are never that serious. I call 'em "oopsies".

Well, he's an extra-planar entity. And if he were someone we recognize I think he would have told / been telling / will have told Higgs. i think he may take the form of Higgs since that's the one he can interact with currently.

So it's pretty obvious Agatha's going to be marrying both of them, but I am kind of wondering what the exact arrangement is going to be, especially when it comes down to producing heirs.

Is it going to be taking turns, giving Agatha multiple bodies, triple DNA splicing, or using mad science to make the boys carry the children?
