Default D&D Subclass Contest XXII Voting Thread

I accidentally overwrote this voting thread's first post with the info for the following contest. The votes themselves are intact and if necessary I can rebuild the rest of the thread, but for now I've just put the oops into a spoiler.

    Here are my votes!

1st- Way of the Cruel Master Monk: looks pretty cool and a fitting idea for the monk.
2nd- Path of the Horde Leader Barbarian: Definitely the most unique idea here!
3rd- The Guide Ranger: A neat idea, if a bit need of some polish or more flare I think.

    My votes:
1: Deathtouched Sorcerer - FINALLY a necromancy sorcerer! Also an interpretation of leadership that I definitely wouldn't have thought of. Good job!
2: Guide Ranger - Beautifully simple and concise, resulting in an easy to understand yet still fun feeling subclass. Well done.
3: Gold Golem - I have absolutely no experience with the base class here, so I can't say if this is balanced with the other subclasses, but it looks cool and from what i can tell it's balanced. So good job, I'm gonna go read the Golem class now.

As for the next contest... I do already know what I'm making, I've had an idea since the previous voting period.
Temporarily back from the void between realities.
Don't ask how long I'll be here for, I have no idea.

Leadership is absolutely not my favorite theme, hence the lack of my own entry this time.
    1. Sorcerer: Deathtouched. It certainly fills the niche of a sorcerous master of undeath. I dislike the intense use of custom spells (as any additional spell not unique to the subclass in question is going to present more options to everyone with this spell on their list), and would probably fold grim puppet into the 1st level feature, but it's still a unique, thematic and viable subclass.
    2. Ranger: The Guide. Simplicity certainly works in its favor, and class features are solid.
    3. Warlock: The Regulator. Would me my first pick if not for built-in advantage on Persuasion and Intimidation at 1st level - it's something you just don't do as a part of "if you have this proficiency already" clause. Still, I feel the official warlock subclass set is missing an order-themed one, and this one fulfills my own expectations of such a patron.

    1. Otherworldly Patron: Eldritch Pyramid Schemer - I find this subclass hilarious. It's good great cheese potential and would be great fun to play.
    2. The Guide - Not overly complicated, but useful. And more importantly, the later abilities do a good job at keeping you going in ranger.
    3. Sorcerous Origin: Deathtouched - It's a needed subclass. It fills a missing niche quite well.

    1) Way of the cruel master. So it feels really thematic, it has a lot of useful and powerful abilities without being particularly overpowered... usually. I guess I would have specified aspirants to be humanoid or something just to moderate the effect of necromancers with armies of undead or druids with 4 wolves... or even a wizard's familiar. Still, nit picking.

    2) The Regulator. Whist some of the abilities stood out as being a bit much (force of will) this pulled together a nice theme and filled a niche that the warlock had going spare.

    3) Horde Leader. Tough competition for 3rd slot but the barbarian made it. The 3rd level ability feels a little janky, summoning a horde out thin air and all... but the subclass packs a lot of fun abilities and the image of a horde of drunken thugs smashing up the place seems to add a lot of RP potential.

    1. Circle of the Pack. Wins my "would you play it" category. Manages to be effective in an interesting niche without stepping too much on other druids' toes.
    2. Path of the Horde Leader. I have a soft spot for swarms of humanoids. I share some concerns about how your hooligans appear out of nowhere, but this is still a good implementation of a great concept.
    3. Eldritch Pyramid Schemer. I grew up in an Amway family, so I appreciate the humor here more than most.

Alrighty, even though I forgot to vote myself, it's time to tally those votes and find our...wow. clear breakway here.

In third place, earning 8 points overall, MrStabby's Guide Ranger! Take command of the situation and direct your allies strikes where they're needed most!

In second place, earning 10 points, we have BerzerkerUnit's Way of the Cruel Master! Your methods are questionable but the results undeniable.

And our overwhelming first place entry, with 16 points, we have Damon_Tor's Deathtouched Sorcerer! Raise the dead. Swarm your enemies with the dead. Spread the dead. A minionmancy subclass for the ages.

Next contest is Bunch of Fives (five fingers, that is). Thread coming soon! Thread here: https://forums.giantitp.com/showthre...5#post25050185
