Re: As You Command OOC
Looks like the weird spectre thing failed to do something to Cypher just now, so Maiabel is probably up - and with the remaining crabby boy stunned! Feel free to get crackin' on him, Dusk Raven. I think we can probably afford to predict that much, as there's very little that Cypher passing his save could do to require a change of action from Maiabel.

Re: As You Command OOC
Took me a couple days to realize that, and another couple to be in the right frame of mine to post. But it's done now! Also, finally made some text in the private notes of my sheet, so that whenever I full attack I can just copy-paste that and tweak as needed.
Also, crit confirmation for Attack 2: (1d20+9)[28]

Will try to post tonight! Hopefully Cypher can manage to stay flanking with Maiabel with just a 5ft step.

Re: As You Command OOC
Just a chest compression to keep interest up. I guess JBE's schedule is jumping up again! But I think we can be confident we've waxed that lobster fella. Stunned as he is, he's pretty helpless against attacks, and we're just going to have to try not to get ghost-whammied! I kind of wish I hadn't traded out Turn Undead now...

Re: As You Command OOC
Glad to have you back JBE!
DuskRaven, both Sharkan and Lamorak got lobster-mobbed for 30+ hp I think. Sharkan got the worst of it I think, poor moggy.
But I don’t think we have a moment to breath yet exactly. I think Sharkan has an action and then this … vampire ghost thing is going to act and I expect… painfully! Not sure what to do about that but wait and see. Lamorak has suggested Sharkan burn the blood that is crawling toward it, but I have no idea if that will do anything and it sounds from its cryptic warning that it considers the blood to be the vessel… and presumably life the wine.Damien Wayne in Molan's Batman {D&D3.5e}

We seem to have agitated it. Any of our big brains have an appropriate knowledge to guess at what we’re dealing with?

Re: As You Command OOC
This is either some homebrew monster or one of the many, many creatures in 3.5 I don't know about. I do feel like I recall seeing a pure blood undead but it wasn't intelligent. Cypher may know what it is, though!
Alas, Maiabel's spell repertoire is entirely buff spells.

Re: As You Command OOC
Excellent, I love more AC! :D
JBE, I must admit I'm hesitating in my action a little here because I'm trying to mentally map the room and I don't want to misunderstand. Could you lay it out for me? You don't have to draw it, but a sense of where we are, compared to this anomaly, and the door/vault she just blasted through would help me immensely.Damien Wayne in Molan's Batman {D&D3.5e}

Re: As You Command OOC
Okay so the door is a large circle of about 20ft raduis. The Eastmost third is sectioned off with a wall running from the north to the south of the curved wall, behind this is the anomoly. Then there's the central third which is an open strip of empty area. The Westmost third is fully of floor to celing shelving units that form two aisles, this is where the abominations you've already killed emerged form.

Re: As You Command OOC
Okay cool. I think what I was missing was that containment side; I thought we were dealing with some kind of living painting or something.
Something roughly like this?
With the crab, and the blood, and the scary ghost lady preparing to funnel through the little hole she's managed to drill in the glass to attack us?
That'll bring us around to Cypher and Lamorak. For ghost bustin'.Last edited by MrAbdiel; 2024-06-01 at 01:06 AM.

Re: As You Command OOC
Hmm. Waistcoatwill hasn't been able to log in for a little over a week now - we might need to make an executive call for his action and hope he pops back up soon. His plan was to use his classes' erzats turn undead - I just don't know how that works. Hmm..
EDIT: Apparently it's just a use of Opportunistic Piety to turn undead as a Cleric of the same level as he is Factotum; I could roll that. With your Permission, JBE, I'll take this temporary burden upon my shoulders until our friend remanifests, doctor manhattan style.Last edited by MrAbdiel; 2024-06-14 at 01:25 AM.

Re: As You Command OOC
Rolled the turn damage first like a doofus, but Cypher's turn check is (1d20-1)[6] because of his crappy charisma!

Re: As You Command OOC
Sorry for ghosting everyone, illnesses and work crises piled up to make the last month and a bit rather challenging, things are back on an even keel again now though.
Thank you very much for stepping in on Cypher's behalf MrAbdiel! I hadn't realised quite how lame Cypher was with Opportunistic Piety. Might at least distract the creature from focusing on Lamorak.
@Jbe, assuming the creature is undead, Cypher's knowledge devotion will kick in with (1d20+16)[32] knowledge religion for +4 to hit and wound. Does Cypher have any inkling of what it might be?Last edited by Waistcoatwill; Yesterday at 01:04 AM.

Re: As You Command OOC
I've never cared for Turn Undead, myself. I've used it exactly once that I can recall, and it didn't go too well for me either since I had poor Charisma then as well. I mean, I was playing a gestalt Cleric/Monk, who's got the ability scores to spare for Charisma when that's your build!? For that matter, Maiabel's got Turn Undead too, but I didn't think to use it myself since she's got poor Charisma as well!
Glad to see Cypher's rightful controller is back, though. ^^
