Better than I was now the forums are back up.

FRAG, I found I missed the forums, especially the couple of weeks (including this one), where there hasn't been any roleplaying session. (It's the last double-panto today as well, and the one mate of mine that was coming has more or less had to cancel because child illness and my uncle is ill and can't come either, so I kind of needed something today.)

Neither Paizo or Paradox forums (only very infrequently go to the latter) are even close.

My time without the forum has been kinda miserable! A fair amount of bad things happened to make my life worse or harder to live with, and one in particular happened just yesterday. The gist of it is that one of the only doctors in all of Canada who can do the evaluation to see if I'm allowed to get surgery just ****ing vanished off the face of the earth.

My time without the forum has been kinda miserable! A fair amount of bad things happened to make my life worse or harder to live with, and one in particular happened just yesterday. The gist of it is that one of the only doctors in all of Canada who can do the evaluation to see if I'm allowed to get surgery just ****ing vanished off the face of the earth.

But yeah, that pretty much means three possible surgeries* in my experience, of which one is far more associated with being transgender than others. But it very much could be one of the other two, they also require consultations, and not *mumblemumblemoggiemumblemumble*. But whatever it is I hope they manage to capture a doctor able to help you with it and that you don't have to go through an NHS waiting list experience for it.

* I'm fairly certain there's more it could be, but the trans people I know only talk about three.

Yeah me too. I've been waiting a year and a half for these stupid head shrinkers to contact me and the last update (received a year ago) was good, that I'd be getting in soon! And then in a month the guy responsible for doing this stuff just up and vanishes. It's really bothersome and I don't want to be waiting for this forever.

There's top and bottom surgery in both male and female qualities, face feminization surgery to make your face less chiseled, vocal feminzation surgery to help remove the lower tones. Those last two aren't necessary but can be helpful. I don't know what you mean by NHS waiting list experience but I think I get the gist of it; I too hope they find the doctors quickly and efficiently since I'm at the exact right time for it. My understanding is that healthcare will cover all costs if I'm below thirty years of age for the stuff I want and welp, guess who turned 28 last month.

NB: While I'm pleased the forum is back, I myself will likely not maintain a regular/consistent presence. I'll just drop in every now and again, as I do. (I think I've had three or four "returns" to the banter over the years and then I feel like a jerk when I stop posting again, so I want to manage my own expectations of myself right out of the gate).

Didn't know about the vocal surgery, but yeah essentially that. But I've met women who consider face surgery significantly more important than top or bottom surgery.

Social interaction on a forum is still social interaction, and when I'm at work posting here can sometimes be the most meaningful social interaction I have all day.

Ever since the forum shut down I was still focused on writing my Pathfinder story. I wrote almost 40 Chapters so far. Also now that this forum I'm going to focus on my homebrew D&D 3.5 deity.

Yeah, I know the feeling of looking in the mirror and knowing that what you see isn't... Right. (Hell, still get it sometimes when I have to go out in illusory disguise now.) 'S why I went Lich the first opportunity I could (it might not have been perfect, but it was Away From Human and that was the most important step), since no amount of 20th/21st century stuff was going to fix me being a different species entirely, basically. (Though I suppose in my case there is the mitigation of not being definitively the wrong gender, insofar as that concept applies to me.)



Hope they pull their fingers out and get you sorted in short order.

They legitimately did not have another option. They did it because they had to.

If you haven't already, give to the Patreon in some amount. Other than them potentially shutting the forums down again for a substantially shorter time to alter some things, that will help them not run into this issue again.
