Re: LGBTAitp - Part Fifteen
Fighting for a damsel in distress? Sitting apathetically in a corner? Mmmnah.
I'm gonna do much better and record all that before uploading it to Youtube.Originally Posted by on Dwarf Fortress succession gamesOriginally Posted by Dwarf Fortress 0.40.01 bugs

Yes. I am Captain Sweden. (Actually, "he" is a character I've created - and not intended to be an Author Avatar.)
The story is old and I was young when I wrote it so please don't hurt me if it's prejudiced in any way.Last edited by H Birchgrove; 2011-09-10 at 03:05 PM.

Re: LGBTAitp - Part Fifteen
NOOOOOO! MY PLA-Welp, what's for dinner. I'm thinking duck, I saw some in the store the other day and I have some lovely oranges...
As for Mr. Woodchipper, good on him. I like people who can admit they were wrong and change to help those they care about/do what's right. Though, I have to admit, I secretly laughed at one line in there. She has the same sexual preferences as you, that's what makes her different guy.

Re: LGBTAitp - Part Fifteen
Evil Stepmothers in drastic need of a wake-up call, damsels in distress, tiny lesbian elves and Viking adventures?
Where do I sign up?
And similarly, I now have a picture of elves and Vikings joining the LGBT movement.
The Vikings look adorable in rainbow-clothing. :3Treasured Quotes

Re: LGBTAitp - Part Fifteen
That seems kind of interesting, but I'll be honest, I'm pretty exhausted so I wasn't really able to make read so good.
On the note, though, I think "anti-racism" is a negative-sounding word and also is defining ourselves as opposition. I like "feminism" because it's a word on its own, which is much less clumsy. It's funny, though, because
race-ist = anti other races
feminine-ist = pro female
And people use "-ist" more often in the "racist" sense. Like, I've heard people say "Oh, I don't mind which type of fruit we buy, I'm not fruitist!" You never hear people say "I object to you objectifying that fruit, because I consider myself a staunch fruitist!". Possibly because if you said that second one you'd be completely bonkers, being as how fruit IS an object... Oh, I just don't know anymore!!
OH MY GOSH YES PLEASE!! Can we do this?! No time! To Google Images!! *rushes off!*

Re: LGBTAitp - Part Fifteen
Ignorant and entirely honest question that arose after a debate with a friend. Does the LGBT abbreviation have feminist roots/influences? This arose after I told my friend that non-alphabetized categorization will typically imply bias or an unobserved thought process.
Edit: My reason for leaving out the A is that, at least in the LGBTs of my area the A was added after the original abbreviation in order to prevent alienating heterosexuals.Last edited by Wings of Peace; 2011-09-10 at 03:03 AM.

Re: LGBTAitp - Part Fifteen
I'm going to go with what Skeppio said. I've often heard GLBT(etcetcetcletters) and occasionally GBLT, but the first just doesn't sound as good to me and the second sounds like a reeeeaally big sandwhich.

Re: LGBTAitp - Part Fifteen
Nope, thanks for reminding me.
Although, I doubt the PM of Iceland is much of a Viking. Not even our ministers ever go raiding any more.
I am well aware and deeply sorry that I implied otherwise, I was speaking of the misreading and not your ponysome self.
As apology, here are some cupcakes!Treasured Quotes

Re: LGBTAitp - Part Fifteen
It's a new-ish My Little Pony cartoon that the internet seems to be bloody obsessed with and incapable of shutting up about.

Re: LGBTAitp - Part Fifteen
Yes I have. I thought it was garbage. And I resent the whole "You can't hate if you've watched it" mentality you pony fans have. It's annoying. Very very annoying.
@V: It's not a small portion. It's every pony fan I've come across, and only pony fans. No other fandom has been so intolerable. Yes, even on this forum. Especially on this forum.
Fine, I'll take it to PMs...Last edited by Skeppio; 2011-09-10 at 06:58 AM.

Re: LGBTAitp - Part Fifteen
It's also annoying to have people make sighy faces at something that you like.
I apologise, Skeppio, on behalf of all the silly people that keep telling you that you're wrong about what to like and stuff, but I would like to point out that it's a problem with those people, not the show and I'd prefer (and I think most people would agree with me) if you didn't make disparaging statements either towards the show, or fans of it simply because of a bad experience with a small subsection of the fandom. "If you haven't got anything nice to say, don't say anything at all". Especially not in a thread for support of a subsection of the population who have a hard enough time being told off for liking things already.
Let's Get Back To... um... dang it, can't come up with a good A that fits.

Re: LGBTAitp - Part Fifteen
Now you pony folks are having affairs as well? Will the depravity never end? (And why would you do that to your Uncle Crassius, sugar? )
