There was no real war. There was a covert one punctuated by multiple assassinations of leading technological leaders. The Cataclysm was a massive event that wiped out nearly all technology with a matter destroying blast that encircled the world.

So, by time count the arcane wars begun in year 5 BC, and ended in 321 AC.
The time surge that infected helina lasted from 6 BC, to 1521 AC

~29 Billion BC: war is created by two random sudden lives. (creatures that appeared with the world, they didn't survive for long.)

The arcane war was mainly centered in helina, that due to the time surge was NOT connected to the rest of the world for over 1000 years. they were not a part of avbory during the cataclysem. (time surge.)


Nitpick-salmon did say he took an helinan battle goggles because it looked cool, so I jest noted what they do, helinan technology is ine after all. (unless is misunderstood him.)

I'm fine with keeping it up to date, but I need some more historical notes, mostly things that happened after the Age of Dragons. I could also use some more things from before it, because for the moment the distances in the timeline aren't consistent.

Do you, or anyone else, have any objections to Helina being the site of Plot 3? Which would explain how you've got more buried tech to work with.

What does that have anything to do with helina?
My only problem is, that the place plot 3 is in do not seem to be helina in terms of technology, architecture and culture. but at the spoken time the entire world is heavy-tech, so it can be anywhere.

And the fact I have compleatly other things planned out for helina, and I invented helina mainly for these plans.

The time surge started before plot 3. or did it start at 1521? hard to tell with time surges.
And arcaneist forces knew about the catalyst thing before it happened, and began fighting even without magic.

Simple explnation on stuff that happened in helina:

first-THE TIME SURGE ONLY EFFECTED HELINA, not anywhere else.

In case it was not clear, the time surge was NOT made by technologists, or arcanists.
Or by both? again hard to tell.
Two versions of boomwolf, one where magic won, one where technology won both went to the past from year 1521AC to year 6BC and screwed stuff up, leading to current helina where the war ended in truce and helina is now inhabit by both technologists and arcanists. (thats boomwolf's backstory. and the shorting of chapter 3 of "chaos laws", that I did not draw, but fully wrote.)

The reason helina has most of it's technology is that the catalyst never got to her, and the only technology lost is whatever was destroyed in the arcane wars.

I'm a little uneasy about wars lasting millions of years...the historian in me says that is an extremely unlikely possibility, on the same kind of scale as colossal squid spontaneously developing civilisation and invading the surface world and Tom Cruise coming to his senses religiously.

I think civilisations lasting millions of years is far-fetched myself, let alone wars.

And besides, I think a time period before plot 3 should be established, because that was when I was actually alive.

I think civilisations lasting millions of years is far-fetched myself, let alone wars.

Given the species in question (Elves, Dwarves, Drow), civilisation is more likely.

Dwarves live in large masses of stone (Generally mountains) which take potentially decades to hew homes into, thus distracting them from other issues like the other civilisation entities.

Elves as we have established them so far are forest-bound groups, or ones living on the surface near the tops of the mountains (The Moon Elves), who typically have ideas spanning decades as it is, add in long lives and both groups are likely to remain stable for long periods.

As for Drow, we've established that Drow and Moon Elves are off-shoots (Most likely the Moon Elves arrived at the surface world using the tunnels and catacombs of the Dwarves, establishing a pretty good relation to begin with for transit and their general location). The Drow live underground, and so far are the only race we know of in Avbaroy, so they have very little competition there and most likely enjoy an almost exclusive access to resources and space in the Underdark catacombs. During the Age of Dragons they were known to make a conditional peace treaty wit the Dwarves though, and they aided the Exersus Resistance in many areas, most notably the Battle of the Palace in 1025. Relations have soured since then however, they're back to their traditional takeover plots as per the conditional peace treaty.
