The Matrix Rewound [WW, Day 6]
The Matrix Rewound
This is your last chance. After this, there is no turning back. You take the blue pill - the story ends, you wake up in your bed and believe whatever you want to believe. You take the red pill - you stay in Wonderland and I show you how deep the rabbit-hole goes.
The Matrix. A complicated program within the minds of thousands, millions of enslaved humans, unaware of this fact, of this construct. To them, life is normal. 1999, all is well. But in reality, they are slaves, being used as mere batteries.
A group of rebels exists, trying to save people, unplugging them from the Matrix, and showing them the real world. But opposing them, are the Agents, sentient programs, capable of being anyone, with the purpose of maintaining the matrix and keeping it rebel free.
Recently, the rebels have started an offensive. To destroy the Matrix, they must find the One, of whom has been prophesied, who will destroy the matrix. The Agents seek to stop this, destroying the One before he is found, and wiping out the rebels.
And neither group operates within the bounds of the law. Swat, Police, and even common citizens have started gathering and lynching people, trying to find and stop these criminals. They don't care, or even KNOW about the rebellion, or the agents. But in numbers, they can kill them.
Rules
SpoilerThere are two Phases: Day, and Night. Day lasts 48 hours, night only 24. Day follows night, which follows day.
During the day, everyone votes on a user. Put your votes in Red, for easy location of votes.Strike outchanged votes.
Whichever user has the most votes, is lynched. This means they are "killed", and removed from the game.
During the night, certain groups of people will PM the narrator (That's me, Flabort), with special night actions. These include: The Agent's Kills and Decoys, the Rebel's Scries and Unpluggings, and the One's Kills.
Results will be revealed at the end of the 24 hour period. Deaths will be announced to everyone, Scries and other actions revealed to whoever did it.
Any time the rules or roles mention anyone who "PMs a Target", or similar, it means they PM the Narrator, with the name of the target.
The 25% Rule is in effect, meaning a lynch only occurs if 25% of the voters agree on a target. Also, the 75% rule is in effect, meaning the day may end early if more than 75% of voters agree on a single target.
Auto-lynches occur, meaning if you don't vote for two days, you are effectively lynched, killed. Removed from the game. If you missed a 75% day, it will be ignored when considering this.
If you won't be able to vote, and are able to notify us, please do. Post in the main thread in Blue and Bold that you won't be able to post for a while, and you won't get auto lynched.
This doesn't mean you won't get lynched normally in this period. Some jokers are just mean that way.
Roles
SpoilerTeam Citizenry
Win Condition: The other two teams cannot claim victory until Team Citizenry reaches a minority. Team Citizens wins if both the opposing teams are eliminated.
SpoilerCitizen (Villager)
You are just a normal citizen. No special Night Actions.
Police (Mason)
The squad of police works together in a group. They know each other well, and are told each others identities.
S.W.A.T. (seer + Fool)
The SWAT team is made of elite infiltration specialists, and are able to get onto the scene of conflict rapidly.
The SWAT members may Scry one target each, each night. They PM their Scry action, and which player to scry. They are told the member either belongs to the rebel team, Agent team, or if it belongs to team citizenry, their exact role (with the exception of The One).
One SWAT member is always told the truth. The other, has a 50% chance of being wrong.
The One (Secret - Vigilante)
Is told it's a Citizen.
Upon being Unplugged, is not removed from the game, but is recruited, meaning it switches teams to Team Rebel. It then gets the ability to Night kill.
The One (after being recruited) PMs a target, and that target is killed, and turns up dead the next morning. This ability ignores an Agent's Decoy, and kills him immediately.
If The One has been recruited, it must be targeted for killing twice within three phases (two nights and a day, or two days and a night). If the Hacker targets them after being targeted for a kill, they still benefit from the Hacker's ability and cannot be killed.
Team Rebels
Win Condition: Recruit The One, and kill all Agents
SpoilerCaptain (Alpha)
Capable of coordinating the rest of the rebels in his group, the Captain gets to choose his own team. Before play begins, he PMs a list of players, who then get randomly assigned roles within this team.
You get to Unplug people with the help of your crew members. See their description as to how it works.
You know the identities of everyone on your team. You don't know the identity of The One until The One is recruited.
Crewman (Wolf-ish)
Nothing special about you. Oh, yeah, you work with the captain to unplug people, which is pretty much a night kill.
They decide together, and PM a target, who is removed from the Matrix. They go on to live happy lives in Xion, rather than dieing, though. They are still removed from the game.
The one exception is The One, who is recruited to the Rebel's cause instead of being removed from the game.
You know the identities of everyone on your team. You don't know the identity of The One until The One is recruited.
Oracle (Devil-ish)
You may or may not be able to see the future. Anyways, you serve as a guide to the rebels, and may Scry someone each night. PM a target, and you will learn their exact role.
You know the identities of everyone on your team. You don't know the identity of The One until The One is recruited.
Hacker (Baner (night and day))
You rarely, if ever, go back into the Matrix. Rather, you usually help out your friends, by giving them the equipment, abilities, and programing they need to escape death, or capture, by Hacking the Matrix.
You PM a target. They are safe, and cannot be night killed, or lynched, that night or the following day. You may target anyone, on your team or off, although you cannot target the same person two nights in a row.
You know the identities of everyone on your team. You don't know the identity of The One until The One is recruited.
Team Agents
Win Condition: Kill The One, and destroy all Rebels
SpoilerAgents (Wolf)
Each night, the Agents get a Night kill. They decide a target amongst themselves. They then PM a target, and it turns up dead the next day. The entire group only gets one night kill.
As well, each night, each one get a Decoy. They PM a target, and if their killed that night or the next day (except by The One, who ignores the Decoy ability), the target is killed instead of them. If they target a member of Team Rebel, a random team citizen member will be killed instead.
If the Decoy is killed, the ability enters a Cool-down period, and cannot be used the next night. An Agent can be killed during this time.
All Agents know each other, and the Smith.
Agent Smith (Devil)
The SWAT of the Agents. Smith is The One's negative. Smith... is kind of not fond of the Matrix. But he's really good at finding Rebels.
Each night, in addition to the group night kill and his personal Decoy, Smith may Scry a target. He is told the target's specific role, every time.
He knows all the other Agents.
Upgraded Agents (Beast)
After the first encounter with something that could destroy an Agent, these newer agents were programmed. They are told they are Agents, and have all the same abilities as normal Agents.
However, when they are killed, their quicker reflexes and superior training means that they can take their killer down with them. If they are scried, their upgraded nature is revealed.
If they are killed by multiple people, such as during a lynch, the last person to target them is killed. The One is not normally killed by this, but this counts as targeting them, for the purposes of their special ability.

I will join the game if you fix a few problems:
If the Hacker constantly targets himself then he cannot lose, he gets a 'kill' (Unplug) each night but cannot die himself. To Fix: I would make either that he cannot target himself or that he cannot target the same person two nights running.
How can the villagers win? As soon as one of the other teams is eliminated the other one automatically wins. To Fix: I would change it so that the rebels and agents also have to have the majority of people overall to win.
I think I would also change the decoy ability to affect rebels if the agent is lynched as the lynch crowd won't care which side they are on, if the rebel/one's night kill targets a rebel then the rebels know that and switch to a random citizen.
A few other questions.
Will the one be revealed upon death? Will everyone know when the one has been unplugged?

While we're at it, if town has lost once the One has been found that ends up making it a game between the Agents and the Rebels but with probably half the players still in the game, unable to win.

A) Indeed, the hacker could. Thank you, as this is my first time narrating, well, anything, I am grateful, and will put in that he cannot target the same person twice in a row.
B) So far, they can win if the one isn't found/killed. The other two teams also rely on his status to win. So, very slim chance for town. But again, good point.

C) In the movies, they could take over anyone who was STILL PLUGGED IN, but not the rebels. Otherwise, they'd just take over a rebel, then suicide.
The One will be revealed, and since he's the only one not normally affected by unplugging, everyone will know, yes. This, of course, makes decisions difficult for the Hacker: save the One, or others?

Hipen3: Since these are based on the cult classic movie(s), The Matrix, and the bad guys in the movies had a super scary ability, this is in mimicry of that ability. So, when you lynch them, or kill them somehow, they don't die the first time. Instead, a random villager is killed. Then if you target the same Agent quickly enough, before "the can pick another host", they are ACTUALLY killed.
So you have to target them twice quickly, or the first attack is meaningless.
Julian84: Actually, it's just a night kill (like wolves in most games) with another name, and it affects a single SPECIAL role differently. Only the One is converted by unplugging, the others are removed from the game.
