Re: Masa's Massively Masterful Message Medium - Random Banter #146
Atlantean: Well considering I'vet met over a good couple of dozen playgrounders In Real Life, including, from
thisthe previous page alone, Inavegt, KuReshtin and Thufir, I think I can say, I know a lot of them quite well.
I thought it was:
10 = A+
9= A+
8= A
7 = B
6 = C
5 = D
Converted into americano style?

Re: Masa's Massively Masterful Message Medium - Random Banter #146
I have traveled over 12,000 miles total just to meet some friends I have here in person.
And it just proved that they are really awesome and worth loving and caring for.
I can't wait to cover another 6,000 miles to see and hug them again, but I dread the 6,000 miles back home, when I'll be missing them way too much.LGBT in the playground - banner by Doihaveaname?.

Re: Masa's Massively Masterful Message Medium - Random Banter #146
Ohboy. Quotestorm time.
Don't worry, it's okay, it's exactly the same place, there was iust some hooha between some of the other planes about my one's name. I couldn't be bothered to listen to them all nagging me when I could be reading the books from the Maybe Existing In A Female Alternate Universe Where the Roman Empire Never Even Took Off (It Was Always A Monarchy).
Surprising how big an effect that little thing had.
You know, I really need to read H2G2. I keep making all these accidental references to it. The Star Trek one though, completely deliberate. Glad you liked.
'Tis true. So very true.
. . .
That.
That is unspeakably upsetting. Unspeakably. Being geniune is far better than lying to people.
ANd for the love of Me! Being skinny is a bad thing. BAD!
I iust love how you equate politeness with lying. I mean, that iust ruins everything. Who'd have thought that saying "Good morning Mum, do you need anything down shop? I'm going town today, so if you need anything I'll be gone in ten minutes." is lying.
If this is true I lie all the time.
Hell. The Britlander stereotype is that we're unfailingly polite and we drink tea.
Does this mean we lie?
It's true. He really did. I call it The Universe Where Dr. Bath Invented the Dictionary.
Mmmmm.
Iust wait a second, don't start anything until I get my popcorn and my ice lolly.
Okay, now begin.
And you were worried you were going to fail.
Congrats on your excellent results!
That sounds amazing. Glad you had a fantastic time at your friend's house.
The problem can be solved so easily. I'll iust plane shift some over to you.
They were great videos though.
That log confused me. A DD and someone with my real name. The world is a strange place.
And RB is an awesome thread.
Exeter for English yus?
It starts in September doesn't it?
You'll enioy Fresher's Week, iust try not to get too drunk.
*blink*
And Exeter has normal length terms meaning that (assuming your first term starts in September) I'll be home for half of your terms. Potential meetup?
P.S.: Come to the UK Christmas/Winter Meetup!
I'm a little similar when it comes to academia. Except when it came to things I didn't like, such as PE, Drama, Art, and eventually math.
English is lovely though. Taught myself to read. Then I became a terror worse than a Lovecraftian monster. Shame really.

Re: Masa's Massively Masterful Message Medium - Random Banter #146
Why? And how is being skinny bad? I mean sure, their are the extremes on both ends, both of which are bad. But being fatter is less healthy than being skinnier. Also For the love of you? lol.
I didn't say all compliments are lies. But telling people wha they want to hear can be benificial. If someone asks me how I like their hair-cut, I'll tell them I like it even if I don't. It's not something that really matters. Unless, of course it is really a crappy hair-cut. Then I'll tell them I hate it.
What? No. Though, most people have lied at some time or another. Plus it's a stereotype. Those aren't the best things to judge people on. You know?

Re: Masa's Massively Masterful Message Medium - Random Banter #146
Don't worry, I feel guilty for posting them on occasion.
If it was a choice between being on the skinny side of 'right' and on the plumper side of 'right' I'd go for too plump.
People who are too skinny iust look icky, with all them bones poking out of the palce. ANd what are you meant to hold onto with a skinny person? Bone?
There's also the fact that being a little overweight is frankly a good thing. At least in my opinion.
It's only been in the past forty odd years that thinness has become The Thing, whereas before having curves was a good thing.
Having hips and boobies (ones that are natural, not fake) is actually good.
Skinniness can be unhealthy as it means that you are probably underweight. Underweight is a bad thing.
I could say more, but I'd end up swearing or ranting, and that's not a pretty thing.
And I say for the love of Me, because I am a Goddess. Plain and simple.
Or you could be honest.
The thing about stereotypes is that they are true. Not always, but quite often.
It's true, for instance, that Britlanders enioy talking incessantly about the weather.
It's true that you complain about queue iumpers and the lengths of said queues.
The best thing in the universe for Britlanders is to be stuck in a long queue, when the weather's miserable out, and then a tourist pushes in front of you in the queue.
It's true that Britlanders are obsessed with tea.
It's true that Britlanders are very polite, at least to strangers and people in the streets, or in public.
Furthermore, as your intial statement was broad and is easily read as saying that all politeness is bad (whether you intended it to be so or not) I reacted with a broad statement as I was greatly offended by your statement.
I'm not an idiot.
I'm a naive child who's probably too academically smart for her own good while knowing nothing about real life, but I know people lie.
I have, a few times, lied myself.
I am currently lying to my parents about several things that are a significant part of myself, because lumping them all down at once would not be healthy for them, me, or the family atmosphere.
I know people lie. But don't say that politeness is lying. Because it isn't. It is in fact, the opposite of politeness.
Bathatar!
Squid bones are lies.

Aye. I find myself more attracted to not-really-overweight women than the not-super-skinny ones. I just find them to be generally healthier. I want a prospective mate (not that I have much experience) that can survive a period of harsh Winter and still have the physical structure to bear offspring.
Also curves are sexy.

Skinny = Not being overweight (by American standards) in my book. Fat is bad, being pleasingly plump, is not.
Sure you are

Re: Masa's Massively Masterful Message Medium - Random Banter #146
This sort of admission always depresses me. I try to put on weight, I really do. Or, I try to gain substance at any rate. I can never figure out what a healthy weight is supposed to be for me, but for a long long time I've weighed 130 pounds pretty much on the dot, and this always seems to be more than most every girl I talk to. Only I'm skinny. Really, really skinny. One of the emaciated bony folks that are so unattractive and junk.
And somehow, without ever having lost a pound, it seems like it's getting worse. People who used to say nothing now complain about how thin I am. And I don't know how to fix it, or why it used to be different. All I know is that it's a problem, and it upsets me. Greatly.
So... yeah. Maybe the grass just seems greener, but I think I'd rather be almost anything else other than "skinny".

How tall are you?
Oh, and how much do you exercise? Having dense muscle mass could make your weight less accurate than it might otherwise be.Last edited by Worira; 2010-08-20 at 02:21 PM.
