That's what I watch Puni Puni Poemi for...

    Anyway, more Veils coming soon.

This one comes from a joke you made about your name a while back, and gives some exploration space for a couple of concepts that Veils really haven't done before.

    The Third Version
    Descriptors: none
    Chakra: any
    Class: Guru, Vizier
As you concentrate your power, glowing blue-white lines travel along your skin from the new source to your other Veils, reinforcing and empowering them.
With this Veil shaped, all veils you have shaped increase their Hardness by 1 and their HP by 5.
Essence: Increase the hardness bonus by one and the HP bonus by five for every point of Essence invested. For every two points invested, increase the save DC of all of your veils by one.

Bind: choose another Veil which you have Bound. This veil now duplicates it, gaining the Shape and Essence effect of that Veil (it still retains its own effects)

Wait, how does the Bind work, if it duplicates a pre-existing bound veil wouldn't they overlap and provide only one benefit? Or would it do things like if you have a veil that generates an aura, there would be two auras?

I think it's intended for veils that can be bound in more than one spot. So that you can get say the head and shoulders (knees and toes, knees and toes) effects of the veil.

Meant it to allow doubling up on once-per round things, getting extra auras, forming a second Hand Cannon, etc. would be useless copying skill boosters due to bonus types, but anything else can be useful.

Wording probably needs a bit of tweaking then.

By the way, this is for you!

    Elric's Utterdark Shield
    Descriptors: Darkness, Teleportation
    Class: Daevic
    Slot: Hands, Wrists
    Saving Throw: Will
Utter darkness enfolds your shield, turning it into a gateway to oblivion.
Unlike most veils, Elric's Utterdark Shield has no effect unless the veilweaver is wielding a shield or buckler. When you shape this veil, it forms around your shield, transforming it into a tool of darkness. Once per round when an opponent within reach misses you or an adjacent ally with a melee attack, you may spend an attack of opportunity to perform a shield bash against them. If successful, the enemy must make a Will saving throw or be swallowed by your shield, cast into a dimension of utter darkness for 1 round. While trapped in this dimension, the enemy takes 1d8 negative energy damage each round and cannot take any action or be targeted by any other effect. Enemies trapped in this way may make a Will saving throw at the start of their turn each round to end the effect. On a successful save or when the effect ends, the enemy appears in the space they last occupied (or the nearest adjacent space if that space is now occupied).
Essence: For each point of essence invested in this veil, your shield bash attacks deal 1d8 additional negative energy damage, the damage dealt to enemies trapped within your utterdark effect increases by 1d8, and the duration of the dimensional trap effect increases by 1 round.
Chakra Bind (Hands): [D4] Binding this veil to your Hands slot makes it even more deadly; you gain a +1 profane bonus per point of essence invested to your shield bash attack rolls and all negative energy damage rolls.
Chakra Bind (Wrists): [D7] You may activate this veil's ability one additional time per round for every two points of essence invested, though you cannot activate this ability of you do not have any attacks of opportunity remaining.

    Spoiler: Reasoning
    Show

I figured since you like the Warder so much, I'd give you a shield with a dash of Elric of Melnibone's black sword thrown in. This seemed like the kind of thing you could hang a whole Warder archetype on.

    Neo's Sigil of the Phoenix
    Descriptors: [Fire], [Chaotic]
    Classes: Totemist, Incarnate, Soulborn
    Chakras: Shoulders
    Saving Throw: Reflex
    Description:
Two wings made of green, arcane fire sprout from your shoulders, shedding light and heat.
Once per encounter, you may conjure a storm of green arcane fire that extends in a 10' radius around you as a standard action, dealing 2d6 points of damage for every essentia invested. Half of this damage is fire, and half is energy of pure chaos and is not effected by energy resistance or Damage Reduction. Enemies may make a reflex saving throw to instead take half damage. This lasts a number of rounds equal to your constitution modifier before dissipating. Enemies must make a separate save each round they are in the flames. In addition, these wings also shed light equal to a candle when not activated, and equal to a lantern when activated.
Chakra Bind (Shoulders): You gain a fly speed of 30' with poor maneuverability. You may increase your fly speed by 10' with every point of essentia invested, and every two points increases the maneuverability by one step.

I figured this might be a fun little one to do, what do you think NeoPhoenix?

    Stirge Mask
    Descriptors: None
    Classes: Totemist
    Chakra: Throat (Totem)

A long probiscis extends from the front of your face and four rows of pincers protrude from your neck beneath it.

Some Totemists revere the voracious hunger of the stirge, while others admire its tenacity at holding onto its prey, despite its tiny size. Totemists bind the stirge mask to assist in grappling their prey and to drain blood from their victims.

You gain a +1 insight bonus on grapple checks. Each point of essentia you invest in your stirge mask increases this bonus by 1.

Chakra Bind (Totem): You can use your proboscis as a natural weapon, which does not deal damage, but which you can use to make touch attacks (such as to start grapples). You gain the benefit of the Multigrab feat with your proboscis.

Chakra Bind (Throat): You can drain blood dealing 1 point of Constitution damage plus one point per essentia invested to living creatures on a successful grapple check.

I might try to do a few others at some point. I should perhaps put in the effort to learn the ways of PF/DSP at some stage, but for this thread, I'll only be able to do 3.5 soulmelds. Hopefully they'll be adaptable if any of them turn out being popular.

Yeah, I'll need us to hold the vote tomorrow so I have time to add it to the Supplemental doc and make the appropriate notes before everything goes off for layout. There's been some really cool stuff in this thread so far, excited to see what everyone thinks about it all!

K, so we are going to need to lay out some voting procedures. Such as, can you vote on one made for you/ one that you made? Do people get 1 vote or more votes? (at this time i would suggest 1, no more than 2 due to the number of entries.) Set a time period for the votes, no voting earlier or later (or else it would be a nightmare to count and you might have to keep counting stragglers). Do you want a final voting round for the top x contenders? if so set a period for that and adjust any voting rules for it.

I feel so wrong at the moment.

Let's have everyone vote twice, once for each of their top two favorites. You can vote for one based on your avatar or one you wrote, I see no issue with that. We'll start the voting at 5:00am PT tomorrow, close at 5:00 pm PT?

What's the easiest way to set up a vote like that on this forum?

Probably to start a new thread, lay out the rules, and then say the post has to look like this.

You should also make sure to state that all entries that are entered after 5pm PST will not be counted. I'll probably be the one rounding up votes, so I'd really enjoy it if we could ask people to follow the format and not add much extra material. It makes my job harder!

    Paladin Edit:
(I should start writing "divine intervention".)
I'll probably get around to wrangling votes up later in the evening tomorrow. I'm uh... going on a date. I didn't mention anything sooner because you know how Snowbluff gets...

Too soon man, you are doomed! Quick hide in this bunker filled and surrounded with nukes that will explode as soon as the door is opened after being closed.

That should solve my paladin problem if snowbluff doesn't get to it first.
