I will be playing with a custom-created party due to the increased difficulty of SCS, and also in order to have greater control over my party.
    My current party plan is:
    Sorcerer PC - Zhalek
    Fighter/Mage
    Cleric/Ranger
    Mage/Thief

    Hi,

Are you playing the EE-updated Ranger/Cleric that no longer gains access to the full Druidic spellbook? Check your baldur.ini and re-enable it (go 'Game Options', 'Cleric Ranger Spells', set '1' - to zero.) if your plan is to have a character that has the full Druid and Cleric spellbook. If you don't want to do this, I'd recommend rolling a Dwarven Fighter/Cleric for saving throws, as there is not a whole lot of benefit from just low-level Druid spells. Also, unless your Thief/Mage happens to be a Gnome, you lack the designated shorty character.
Or perhaps a Berserker (9)->Druid, considering that you don't seem to have the SCS component that nerfs the Insect Plague line of spells (by making them counterable with Fireshield), and the Druid support spell line-up is really quite impressive in SCS/Ascension overall, between Nature's Beauty K.O.ing Enraged Fire Giants.

Are you going to multi- or dual the Fighter/Mage? Well, scratch that - with True Grandmastery available to multi-classes and removed XP cap the choice is rather skewed.

    The Party:

Zhalek, the party leader, horribly weak, to the point that carrying a bag of holding may even be impossible for him

The party has finished chapter 1 without any deaths, but I will probably wait until everyone is at least level 2/2 before taking on the Nashkel mines.

I have re-enabled the Cleric/ranger spells, and while the SCS insect plague's disabling will probably help me in the long run, it will really hurt when i get to Cloakwood. Thanks for the advice!
Edit: By the way, the sorcerer is a gnome. (Tweaks anthology)
Update: Went to the Xvart village, and had a minor heart attack when Zhalek, the protagonist, got critted for 16 damage by a xvart. He did live, but it was a good lesson to not put squishy characters in the front . Bought a helm of charm protection from Feldepost's inn for Urgran on the logic that if he turns against us, he can kill the entire party. Killed bassilus and his many skeletons with assistance from the wand of lightning found in the Beregost manor. Returned Mirianne's letter and Coquetle's amulet. I will probably try to kill Greywolf next, and get absolutely massacred.

A 4-man party that already killed Bassilus (SCS Bassilus, no less; he opens with Unholy Blight, which is a TPK to Good parties if mishandled) and whose Sorcerer can handle a 16 damage crit from a Xvart is certainly not 1st level.

Greywolf is dead- his weakness was his vulnerability to Command: Die. Varscona goes to Alanis. I cleared out the mines, moved on to Mutamin's Garden, killed Tranzig, and am now going to go after the bandit camp (after killing some sirines). Shoal and Drosh are dead.
The sorcerer is level 5, everyone else is around 4/4.
As for how I killed Bassilus at low levels: a sorcerer with the ring of wizardry combined with Imoen's wand of missiles can disrupt his spellcasting enough that he dies to melee (However, if he summons an Aerial servant, you are royally doomed).

Question Re: Let's Play the Baldur's Gate Enhanced Edition Trilogy (With mods)

I've made a significant amount of progress since the last update- the bandit camp is cleared, all the sirines are dead, and I've retrieved the tome of constitution. Now I have a conundrum on my hands. Should i give the tome to my half-orc to give him natural regeneration, or give it to the fighter/mage to give her slightly more hp?

    BG1 Final Update
    Tome allocation:
    Strength - Alanis
    Dexterity - Val
    Constitution - Urgran
    Intelligence -Val
    Wisdom - Zhalek, Zhalek, Urgran
    Charisma - Zhalek
Sarevok is dead, after multiple tries. I did everything in BG1 other than Werewolf Island (because it's tedious and (IMHO) not very well made). Instead, I just killed Mendas with the Burning Earth from Durlag's tower as well as Kondar, the naturally born sword you get from Aldeth. (I actually learned that you can do this in this playthrough )
My strategy for SCS Sarevok with the improved final battle was as follows.

1: Val the thief, under invisibility, sneaks up to Sarevok and triggers his dialogue, Diarmid spawns in, reads his scroll of protection against Magic, and someone (Angelo, Semaj, or Tazok) teleports in invisibly.
2:I set a kitchen timer for 11 minutes, and went to read a book.
3: When I hear the timer beep, that means that Diarmid's scroll has worn off (it lasts 2 hours which is around 10 min realtime).
4: I have Zhalek the sorcerer buff himself with a few protections (Stoneskin, mirror image, blur, shield, Spell Immunity: Abjuration (key to surviving the remove magics that Angelo and Semaj fire.
5: Val gives Zhalek a potion of invisibility and everyone but Zhalek drinks one if they aren't already invisible
6: Zhalek goes in, chugs an oil of speed, and kites Sarevok into a corner (he's invulnerable until everyone else is dead)
7: Zhalek runs around until the 2 remove magics (one from each mage) are fired, then chugs his potion of invisibility and returns to the party.
8: Everyone spell-buffs to the maximum (other than Defensive Harmony and other short-duration spells from Urgran)
9: Val summons some fodder via the wand of monster summoning (In case Sarevok's improved AI realizes that he should be attacking the party)
10: Val equips Arrows of Dispelling on her bow
Alanis equips 2 Breach scrolls in her quickslots
11: Party (w/o summons) charges the opponents, Zhalek stays behind and then hits Semaj with a spell thrust to take down his spell protections (he has chaos, and is thus more dangerous than Angelo)
12: Alanis dispels his combat protections with a breach scroll, then kills him (Val dispels his many illusions via Detect Illusion)
13: Alanis switches to Harrower and the Burning Earth to attack the skeleton warrior for one round with Urgran (who has all the extra healing potions because he doesn't have stoneskin or ironskins) (In the SCS improved final battle, killed acolytes turn into hostile skeleton warriors)
14: Repeat steps 12 and 13 with Angelo, and Val adds some arrows of biting once his protections are down
15: Zhalek runs around like a loon to try to draw Tazok out, and Tazok attacks
16: The party kills Tazok with arrows of Acid and melee weapons (Zhalek adds in some magic missiles) and then his Skeleton
17: Zhalek kites Sarevok back towards Diarmid, and both Alanis and Val try to slow them while Urgran casts a holy smite
18: Urgran runs over to get the fodder to tank Sarevok while the party kills Diarmid and his skeleton
19: Zhalek, Alanis, and Val attack Sarevok, while Urgran keeps casting holy smites; Zhalek renews his mirror images and his stoneskins to stay safe
20: Val killed Sarevok with an Acid Arrow.

Siege of Dragonspear is next; I will be transferring some items to the next game by putting them in the Friendly Arm Inn post- SOD final battle.

And also yay on beating the original! Well if you can call it that, so modded. That does sound like a lot of fun. I remember modding the heck out of BG2 while younger, but not the original.

Yeah, modding BG1 without something like EasyTutu or BGT is pretty much impossible and tends to cause a lot of game crashes. Funny enough, because DavidW (the author of SCS) didn't do anything beyond basic AI for Siege, the final battle will probably be easier than the BG1 one.

Siege of Dragonspear is done, and it was way easier than BG1 (the hardest enemy I fought was the Kanaglym Lich who I chose to not use cheese with and died once to a Time Stop/ADHW combo
Belhifet died really fast partially due to the fact that I kinda overbuffed in the elevator and all of my mages had SI: Abjuration up so when Hephernaan and Belhifet's remove magics hit they were ineffective. Alanis got the final blow on Belhifet, then I went back to the FAI to drop off items and began BG2

Ending levels for everyone are around 9 for the Multis and 11 for the Sorcerer.

I haven’t played SoD... I need to. At school me point I’ll follow in your footsteps, play them all from the get go.

Question. Is there a big map type mod for the current series? Like BG, TotSC, SoD, SoA, ToB?

Yes, the EET mod, available here makes the game areas continuous (other than making Baldur's Gate (the city) inaccessible post-Siege for reasons that will become obvious if you finish the game.
