Okay then I've probably been doing it wrong then. I had Bast spar with Carric to vent her frustrations a bit, and though she hasn't done anything with Cobra's character, she's going to soon (she's gonna have him set up a bomb trap for her to spring on The Lich).

But, since you're the player, I will do as you ask.

Okay then. I guess I'll just...not have to roleplay then. Because the way you ask it she just won't really do anything.

Also, there's a range between skinny (and most people seem to mean anorexic when they say skinny) and pudgy.

That doesn't even make any sense and smacks of the aforementioned denial by blinding one's self to reality. Even weirdness has a source, cause, and explanation which can be dissected given even a half-arsed effort.

Wait... They fit another word in there as well?

Generic term Mr. Coidzor. Sorcerer here being defined as a practitioner of sorcery, sorcery being defined as magic.

Modesty is never out of place. Except when it is.

Wait... So you're purposefully leaving things up to uncertainty?!?! You monster!

Surely your accents aren't that radically different from my own...

You assume much. I was merely stating that if I did have otherworldly ancestors, it would be a family secret and not for open discussion save on pain of death.
And by the heavens, half-breeds annoy me as a fictional element. It seems like a completely pointless method of adding variety to an otherwise lacklustre group of characters and or world.
"Hmm... All our characters are fundamentally the same... I know! One of them will be half-demon!"[/end mini rant]

So... A wizard? I mean... Santa Claus is magic after all...
    It's more implied.

Sorcerers don't get as awesome facial hair though.

That pretty much sums it up.

Might I even be some kind of Uncertainty Lich!? Nah....

More an unavoidable facet of human actors.

Heh. There are accents from where I grew up that I can't understand. And people from overseas have difficulty understanding me despite having an almost Midwestern accent, the most easily understood of the lot, which is why all our of newscasters have them.

Well, you know, there's being half supernatural entity and then there's being less than 1/100th supernatural entity.

I guess there's no accounting for grandma's getting drunk in the middle of winter and sleeping with the wrong grandpa.

    Something like that, I suppose.

    Well... Not seriously anyway...

You do realise I never actually click on your links? Well I do... But only so I know what the title of the video is.

Probably. Psychology is an interesting field of study after all.

Oh early seasons Worf... So ridiculous.

I wonder at what age a person realises that fervent denial never works? As a scholar, I'd be interested in someone studying that so I can read about it.

Everything's creepy when one thinks about it.

Well, I never did any of those youth group type activities. So I'm hopeless at tents, can't make fire from local ingredients and don't have the technical know how of helping the elderly across busy streets.

And it's especially annoying when one lives in a country where quail has to imported, thus preventing one from practically being able to kill it themselves. Though I have heard all manner of nice things about game birds of course despite never having had one.

By definition, an interesting hobby is one that holds your interest, so it has to be enjoyable or one will just give it up as boring.

Well... You can if you win the lottery twenty-seven times in a row.
Which reminds me of some funny dialogue from a book about aliens forced to seek refuge on Earth:
"But X, everyone cheats at the government lottery."
"Yes Father, but not twenty-seven times in a row!"

It's funnier with the nostalgia. I love that book...
I'm ok with it in and of itself. It's the reactions I don't enjoy. ~Unless they're good ones.~ In which case it's something I enjoy and is enjoyed, but that's kind of rare.

That's why I headboop/headbutt cats. Into submission. Or Flight. One or the other. Dominance rituals are kind of annoying.

    No, just ironically, yeah.

    Your loss.

If you find the right sources to follow, yeah. Has its fair share of weird back alleys.

That was basically his job at the time, aye.

Hell, I'm surprised you guys are even able to import it even remotely economically.

Oh, sure, be reasonable. Don't include the requirement it be one that won't embarrass you at parties if it comes to light.

Maybe they couldn't afford a teacher, or maybe they thought that MoonCat - with her grade skipping and all - was intelligent enough to not need one. Either way; yes, the final result is bad.

I mean... The terms wizard and sorcerer are interchangeable...

I don't particularly care. In my mind, the more important an endeavour, the less uncertainty one should allow in their plans.

I on the other hand seem to have grown up in an area where everyone has understandable accents even if they are from New Zealand or South Africa.

It just seems particularly overused in modern fiction, both of the fantasy and science fiction varieties.

I'll thank you not to cast aspersions upon my grandmothers.

They are. The worst part is how we still have them encoded into our genes despite history. Oh well... Body language can still be useful.

But I'm listening to modern opera!

Well... Not me. Rich people. Hence why I've never tasted quail.

That too. It's the main reason I never tell anyone about myself because then they'll tell other people.

Which is the exact reason why the family in question purchased a dodgy second hand space raft and hid out on Earth. Being thrown in prison is never fun.

It's pretty soul crushing for us all, but neither party will admit their own failings. My only suggestion is to leave MoonCat and Enderlord to the mess they made for themselves.
You have a gentle soul TaiLiu, and I don't want you to get embroiled in their hate.

Fact. Early on, the rod of Hermes (patron of doctors) was confused with the rod of Asclepius, so somewhere between the (American) Civil War and WWI the Cacuceus became the accepted (and established) symbol for medicine.

Yes, and I believe Elemental's got me on that one as well... I apparently have misremembered how far east the HRE was.

Of course, I am grounded enough that I have a good understanding of what is real or not. Which means I'm completely missing my own point. I do that sometimes.
True... and sing. I mean, I could teach you a bit with the bass, but putting the two together takes quite a bit of practice.

    See, you got it.

The best part of making a point is being slightly wrong so you can be right and still argue over it. Like this Poland debate. (granted, this is more due to a non-omnipresence of my learned knowledge in the front of my mind and not intentional design)

Actually, Scotland didn't exist in the times of the Roman Empire. A better name for it then would have been Pictland. Actually... I think one of the Roman words for it meant Pictland... Or was it Caledonia? Damn inconsistent Romans...
And anyway... They didn't bother because their empire was already stretched too far such that conquering further North would have been a venture more costly that any potential gain.
And they did actually invade Pictland... They just didn't make any progress so far away from their power bases...
Archery takes some not-insignificant strength in one's arms that I never could really manage.

Yeah, but if everyone's going to die and there's nothing you can do about it, why not have fun?

Bah. For future reference, any time that I mention a country or something that existed under a different name in the time period I'm talking about, the one with the chronologically appropriate name for that general geographic area is the one I'm talking about.
Successfully invade. Along the lines of "take over", not "attack and withdraw because the Scots/Picts are freaking nuts".

So in short, Poland was not steamrollered by invaders in World War I. There were no invaders of Poland in WWI. Because of time, I will not recount the glorious centuries of Polish history prior to the fall of the Jagellon Dynasty, but I assure you, it was indeed glorious to the point of them crushing the Teutonic Knights and taking most of their holdings.
However, geographically, armies did steamroller across Poland a couple of times.
But never, was it owned by the Holy Roman Empire or "several other sovereign states". Just Austria, Prussia (later the German Empire), Russia, and at one point Sweden might have had part of it, but I can't remember.
Not to my knowledge... although I'll look it up later when I've got time.

I think Sheep beat you to it, but yes, not the HRE. (ancientish geography just sort of melts together. I should probably learn some more about it).

Okay, I go to sleep just to find this monstrosity of new pages. Given, I've seen worse and I wasn't even present for the golden days of yore, but still, it's at least three times more than what I would've expected.

Hmm, and now I'm inspired to create a card game based on Random Banter. The target is to be the first to claim the next thread, and to achieve that, you play posters and other miscellaneous cards to either speed up your own posters' posting rate or slow down/block out the opponent's (or s').

And all poster's would have different attributes judging how many posts they'd create and how they'd interact with other posters. Take the Persistent Off-Time European, for example. He's always online at the wrong time, so he wouldn't be able to contribute especially many posts to advance the thread, but he's verbose, which means he's eligible for a Wall-of-Text (which may encourage other verbose posters but intimidate modest ones), and his persistence makes it nigh impossible to intimidate him or forcing him to drop out.

Sounds like the one we have potted as an outdoor plant. Say, is it rather high with the stems of the leaves reaching roughly 10-15 cm in height? Also, if this is the case, it should be much less distinct in taste than our wild Oxalis, and therefore less interesting to eat.

    History lesson time!

There were 16 Polish cavalry charges conducted throughout the entire WWII, and only one of those was an unanimous failure (two more were repelled, but prompted a German surrender of their positions). In total, find most of these cavalry charges to be so fascinating that I refuse to let any statement of "Stupid Poles charging tanks!" go unanswered.

Besides, if there's anything Civ has taught me, it's that the best counter for enemy machine guns (before the introduction of marines) is dedicated cavalry.

Now, the last two don't seem to apply, so the answer is either your associate has a crush on you, which may very well be the case, or he's interested in psychology.

On a related note, did I tell you guys about my project group? () The girls both have a mutual dislike toward babies but absolutely adore cute animals. Especially one of the girls do, and whenever the subject of animals is brought up, she goes into a constant, endless squeeing, proclaiming them all to be the cutest. Yes, all of them. Mine are grey/green, depending on the lighting. Seriously, they seem to be stuck in some no man's land regarding eye colour. They used to be blue when I was a little kid, but they dullened as I grew older and started to take on a slightly green hue. An old classmate off-handedly refered to them as green during a biology lesson when she asked our teacher about what genetics brought about green eyes.

Also, there are some small specks of brown interspersed as well, but they seem to have stayed consistent across the years...

Also, it's funny, because dad is distinctly blue-eyed (even though it's a light hue of blue), and mum is brown-eyed.

And finally, if my eyes are going anywhere, I hope they go toward the green, as green is my favourite colour...

You'd be surprised at how much strength I've got in my hands and arms that I haven't tapped into. I occasionally astound people.
Of course, like all endeavours worth one's time, it requires a certain amount of effort.

You are aware of how confusing that'll get when it comes to certain regions? I mean... I can look things up, but I'll have to cross reference historical names, modern names and significant events and dates to get it down.

Trust me. They don't often, but they do when the situation calls for it.

Probably. Geography is at least as interesting as history. In fact, historical geography is one of my hobbies.

Which gets very confusing for everyone else... Maybe we should all just use geographic coordinates.

Hmm, well, I imagine lurker being a quality you add to a poster rather than an intrinsic trait. I mean, some may enter play with it and need to lose it before starting to contribute, but being a lurker shouldn't be a defining quality of a poster, since being a lurker is almost the polar opposite of being a poster in the first place...
