[Nexus] Trog's Tavern CCXXXII

[Rae Artemi]

"I'm poking this ooze stuff around him, because it's all weird!" Vicky says, turning to greet the newcomer. "And hello there!" She says, not commenting on Rahona's appearance. When you live in Ankh Morpork, you tend to learn not to do that. "Oh, it's gone, and I am poking the mouse! Sorry about that, little guy!" she says when Trace suddenly undeadtimes.

[Mina Kobold]

"That looks like a temporal deceleration of the air molecules, but more importantly-"

Rahona aims a futuristic, and yet very blocky, gun at Vicky.

"Why ya chewing onna piece a woo'?"

Or possibly she is just pointing at her lollipop and forgot she had a gun-like thingy in her hand because chewing on little wooden sticks is weeeeird.

((If it's made of plastic or something else that isn't wood then pretend Rahona said that. I will pretend you said marshmallows. Marshmallows!))

Well, Victoria had bitten through the stick of this one on accident, so there isn't actually a stick sticking out. But she sticks her tongue out nonetheless, revealing the actual candy part. "Ith candy, thilly!" she says, with her tongue still sticking out.

What a day. Crazy dames, explosions, gettin drunk... Well, least tha crazy dames part ain't all that bad. Trace says, not taking his eyes off Rahona.

[Mina Kobold]

Rahona tilts her head, kind of like a human imitating an owl, in confusion.

"Candey? Is that those fruit snacks prey-omneivores eat?"

She looks pretty silly when confused, having absolutely no idea how to prevent her hair from getting in her eyes and blowing at it absent-mindedly.

How can mammals stand being covered in the stuff? Feathers are much better.

"Mainly it's sugar and flavoring, but it tastes much better than blood." Victoria says, nodding. And then she pulls a cherry sucker out of her pocket! "You wanna try some?"

[Mina Kobold]

Rahona looks curiously at the lollipop, sniffing a bit at it ad closing her eyes in reaction to the no doubt bad smell it has to her.

"I, guess it'd be a good idea, I can't keep having to ask people to bite them"

She tries to take the sucker, carefully.

It smells of cherries! That may not be an appetizing smell, but it should still be a good one, I'd think. And Vicky will not stop her from taking the sucker! "Oh, and I'm [Names and Titles] Victoria [More Names and Titles], but you can call me Vicky! Or Vic, or Tori, whatever really."

[Mina Kobold]

"Rahona Ostro, Adventurer and Explorer of Everywhere, Everytime and All"

Rahona responds with her own name and titles while nervously tasting the lollipop and having the predictable result of jumping in shock from it's fruit-esque flavour and accidnetally activating her gun.

Which may explain why she dissappears in a big flash of blue.

Bright flash of light? That's not good, as it causes Vicky to, well, disintegrate would probably be the best word, as all that's left of her is a pile of dust and a note!

Trace, seeing the explosion, dives back behind the bottle of ale. Ack! Can't you people explode when I ain't around! He protests, peeking out from behind the bottle after a few seconds. Well.... Crud. The mouse mobster says, upon seeing that Vic has also been reduced to a pile of ashes. Cautiously, he creeps towards the note, trying to read what it say without getting too close.

The note reads "Hi there! It seems I have been staked, garlicked, or hit by a large light source. If you wouldn't mind, could you put a few drops of blood onto the pile of dust that's really me? I'm a black ribboner, so I won't take any more than that, and it would be really appreciated!"

[ThirdEmperor]

Well... Crud. Trace repeats. He doesn't actually have enough blood to revive a vampire, being a mouse. For about a minute, he just waits around, hoping someone else will show up, then he remembers something, and runs off.

A few minutes later he returns, rolling a bottle of Ichor Liquor across the bar towards the pile of ashes. With one final shove, he pushes the bottle off the counter, aiming it so that it should fall directly onto the ashes and shatter.

The glass shatters, there's a puff of smoke, and Victoria is back! She looks a little Groggy, and is holding her head. She also has a couple of pieces of shattered glass stuck to her, but that probably doesn't bother her. "That never feels good... I think I need a drink. Anyone have any maple syrup?"

[Murkus]

"Someone's pet sir? No sir. Not that I know of sir. You can't have catboys as pets sir. They're people sir!"
The concept is just weird.

"You know, I'm starting to think mocking you is a lost cause." Orrey says, frowning at the catboy. He reaches up to his face, pressing a couple buttons on his supply-apparatus, and it comes away with a breathy pop. The area around his crooked nose and thin-lipped mouth is slightly damp, but the thug doesn't seem to care.

He takes a long, chilly draught of his Shadow until he can take no more. Lauhter sets it down with a visible shiver. Or are his hands just twitching... like, a lot?

[Reinholdt]

"Lost sir? I'm not lost sir. I'm in Trog's Tavern in Inside sir. If you're lost I could give you a tour sir!"
Butler says, drinking his Nuka-Cola.

[Murkus]

Orrey almost snaps on the irritating little cat. He leans towards him, one hand clutching his cup tightly, the other on the bar. "Do you even hear what's coming out of your mo--" A tour. Hmmm. "Ya know, I am actually a bit lost. Never visited here before."

[Reinholdt]

"I run a tour business sir! I'd be happy to show you around sir. I'm sure you'll love it here sir."

Butler lists off the various places he can show Orrey. GLoG, HALO, AMEN, Watchtower, the MagCave, Inside, Outside, and all the taverns.

"His name's Jetsam Harley; I believe he's some rich-kid who has recently inherited his father's corporation. Due to the changeover, my employer thinks it would be a good time to investigate the business for suspected corruption within the system."

So yes, spy is probably the correct word. Though there's certainly more to Ulthlan than that.

"With any luck, Jetsam doesn't know about anything underhand in the business, which likely means there was none in the first place, or what there is will stop now he's taken over." Plus, he seemed like a very nice person on the surface. Handsome, too.

Oh, right, so its, ah, espionage? Cool, Cool.

Jonathan nods awkwardly

So uh ... what kind of, um, magic is that you're using?

[Murkus]

"I run a tour business sir! I'd be happy to show you around sir. I'm sure you'll love it here sir."

Butler lists off the various places he can show Orrey. GLoG, HALO, AMEN, Watchtower, the MagCave, Inside, Outside, and all the taverns.

"I think I can agree with that. I've only heard so much, though. Wouldn't know where to go. Maybe you should just show me the cool stuff?"

Wiser words ain't never been spoken. Tha "I need a drink" part, not tha maple syrup bit. As I say whenever I'm told ta stop drowning my troubles in booze, I'll stop tha day it stops workin. Trace says with a grin, pulling a small diamond from his pocket and tossing it to Cosmo. Get tha lady a bottle o' maple syrup, an I'll have another DLB.

[Reinholdt]

"I think I can agree with that. I've only heard so much, though. Wouldn't know where to go. Maybe you should just show me the cool stuff?"

Butler considers.
"Well you probably want HALO and the MagCave then sir. HALO's underwater and the MagCave is a cave, so they both keep pretty cool most of the time sir."

[Murkus]

"No, I mean..." Orrey sighs. "Which of these places do you find most interesting?"

[Rae Artemi]

"Wait, they actually serve just maple syrup here? This place just got so much more awesome!" Vicky says, smiling wide and awaiting her syrup eagerly. She's also probably bouncing a bit. Y'know, maybe sugar isn't such a good thing to replace the blood yearnings with.

[Reinholdt]

"Oh I find them all very interesting sir. I spend most of my time at GLoG though sir." Since he works for them.
And Watchtower. And runs a tour business. And works for Sszy which I just remembered/found out. And probably some other places too.

Yeesh. Yer beginning to sound just like Bull. Trace says, as Cosmo arrives with their drinks. Bull's my partner in crime, in case ya were wondering.

[Murkus]

"Well, how about we go there last." If ever. Orrey ponders a moment. "Why don't we just look around Inside some? See the sights a little. Then maybe look up HALO or this AMEN place."

[Reinholdt]

"That'd be fine sir. Wherever you want to go sir." It can be timeskipped through too. Inside is really hard to tour through.

[Murkus]

Orrey gestures as if for Butler to proceed.

They can probably skip straight to... AMEN, then.

"Wait, but I thought you were a detective?" Vicky asks. Detectives are supposed to be the opposite of the crime! Oh, wait, there's her syrup! Time for chugging! Glug, glug...
