Question about "Views"

I've noticed, looking at a lot of threads in the PbP area, that the "Times Viewed" number is basically one higher than "Replies". And it never seems to change, for certain threads. Others have it much higher, and increasing at what appears to be a normal rate.

This certainly isn't a priority, or anything. Just idle curiosity.

I didn't mean that I can't get them to update. I just meant that most of them consistently have one more view than they have replies (no matter how many replies they have). Just seemed awfully coincidental to me...

Maybe those particularthreads are generally only viewed by people posting in them?

That, and you automatically view the thread once when you create the thread, essentially making the default "0 replies, 1 view".

I don't know how vBulletin gets it's viewed statistics, but don't forget that it is smarter than the last software we had. Perhaps it keeps a track of the sessions and/or users viewing it?

Could you post an example forum forum or screenshot so we could see? I just scanned down the Board Issues forum and I'm not witnessing this phenomenon.
