Re: Doctor Who (again)
Ok, new episode...
SpoilerI don't know what on earth is going on, but I'm enjoying it. This episode was fairly awesome... so. many. questions.
Number one of which... THE LITTLE GIRL IS A TIMELORD?!? I think we may have just been shown how Who will continue without the doctor...
Also, point of debate beyond ravid 'OMGOMGOMG!', which is most of what you'll get from me. Current Who is definately providing one season long story, to the extent that individual episodes don't have so much of a self-contained plot. I love this, my family less so. What do others think?Evil round every corner, careful not to step in any.

Re: Doctor Who (again)
So....apparently I have to now go back and watch most of last Season now that we know what the Silence was and laugh as it all makes sorta sense.
There goes my tomorrow.
And I'll bow to peer pressure since the OP hasn't added spoiler tags to the title yet:
SpoilerLittle girl is a Time Lord. mfw:
Perhaps Jennie, or Rory & Amy's baby with a time head/timelorditis?
Edit:
SpoilerMore importantly, is this our final input from River? <crosses fingers>Last edited by Kobold-Bard; 2011-04-30 at 01:59 PM.

Re: Doctor Who (again)
Definitely more questions than answers in this one, although it seems likely we'll be seeing Canton again at some point...
Kobold, re: River Song:
Spoiler
Obviously it can't be the last time we see her because the snog at the end was the first time she'd done that from the Doctor's point of view, whereas it seems clear she'd done that to him a number of times in her timeline.
What's with all the River hating anyway? She seems fine as a character to me.

Re: Doctor Who (again)
SpoilerWell, we know that the kid at the end isn't Amy's baby (whatever's up with that whole baby thing), because she regenerated nine months after Amy first told the Doctor she was pregnant.

Re: Doctor Who (again)
Well, that raised more questions than it answered.
SpoilerMy theory: overlapping timelines. On timeline where Amy had a kid with the Doctor, one (ours) where she didn't. For some reason, the two timelines are colliding, hence the "pregnant/not pregnant/pregnant/not pregnant" thing the scanner did.Quotebox

Re: Doctor Who (again)
SpoilerOn the River Song front, I'm really enjoying her character arc. Her romance with the doctor is far better than previous ones, quite possibly as she is only around half the time. I actually found the bit at the end of today's episode really sad; the first time I've felt like I've cared even remotely about the whomances.Evil round every corner, careful not to step in any.

Re: Doctor Who (again)
I gotta admit, that was an EXTREMELY clever thing the doctor did there. "You should kill us on sight." indeed. Whoops.
And the last minute of the episode... I sounded like the Tenth Doctor for a moment "What? What. What!"My youtube channel, featuring LPs of Minecraft and various other indie games: http://www.youtube.com/channel/UCa98B36NhE0lWNEn3lGc86Q

Re: Doctor Who (again)
TARDsIS? It looks weird, but if you separate out the acronym then that makes sense. You do have a good point though, time-travel tech isn't as sparse as I thought. But then, what's the significance of it being "6 months later"? I'm even more confused now.
I agree completely.

Re: Doctor Who (again)
Wow, that was impressive.
Moffat definitely has a gift. First he makes us terrified of stopped clocks, then statues, following that up with dust, shadows and nothing at all.
SpoilerThe Silents are certainly one of the most intriguing villains I've ever come across in Dr Who. As for the girl, is it possible that the Doctor and Amy got together but completely forgot it all due to the machinations of the Silents?

Re: Doctor Who (again) [SPOILERS]
You missed out children at the start there.
Also, I think it's fair to say at this point that Moffat is just trying to make our heads explode with this stuff.
More specific comments to come later.
"[SPOILERS]" added to thread title, but I think it might still be good to institute some set period of time after the new episode during which we still talk in spoiler tags. Don't know how long that should be, though. A week would be far too long, sorry Australia, but until the episode's been aired in America maybe? How long would that be? I don't know time zones."'But there's still such a lot to be done...'
YES. THERE ALWAYS IS."

Re: Doctor Who (again) [SPOILERS]
Well, the episode just aired in Canada.
That was a bit difficult to follow. Not sure how they got from escaping NASA to being hunted down throughout America and the Doctor in chains, but it was obviously a scheme of the Doctor to build that impregnable enclosure.
Pretty impressive conclusion, however. River gave me a laugh with that "I'm an archaeologist" bit.
Regarding Amy Pond's pregnancy:

Re: Doctor Who (again) [SPOILERS]
SpoilerWHAT TIME LORD AMY'S DAUGHTER WHAT?!
If that's Amy's daughter. Even if it's not, WHAT?!
My friend just had a terrifying thought: what if the girl is River?
That doesn't hold because River is human. Right?

Re: Doctor Who (again) [SPOILERS]
SpoilerLast week I briefly mused that the Doctor was the father and that the girl was Amy's daughter. This week... I have no idea. It'd be interesting if she was Jenny, but I don't think Jenny changes when she regenerates. Hmm... this is gonna be a great season.Want an avatar? Shoot me a PM.

Re: Doctor Who (again) [SPOILERS]
SpoilerShe kissed him! Yes!
Woohoo *dances*
I ship them...so much.
Uhm, anyways.
Possibly because of my shipping...I think it's also possible that the girl is the daughter of River + Doctor. Because, surely, there'd need to be some time lord blood in there somewhere.
Also, I thought Rory's comment at the end was interesting..."Exactly what sort of Doctor are you?"
She just says "Archaeologist"...but, well, she could so easily be lying.Last edited by Lioness; 2011-04-30 at 11:51 PM.
