JaronK : Lawful Good (emphasis on good over lawful) deity of understanding
Portfolio: Destiny, Balance (of power), Guidance
(tbh IDK what qualifies as a portfolio listings that can be applied to a forum poster)
Domains: Balance, Community, Destiny, Good, Law, knowledge, Halfling

Backstory: (please excuse my lack of ranks in Knowledge: Forumgoers, I've only been on GITP for a year). Not much is known of JaronK before his ascension into godhood. Rumor has it he was a simple halfling with nary a form of magical ability. However, he (as recorded history would have it) was the first to notice and detail the clear discrepancy of power within the world. He observed that Wizards could be more powerful than a fighter could dream and also suck more than a fighter could dream (see: Flickerdarts Signature). He then detailed his findings on a magical list called "the tiers" and when the knowledge of it spread... well, lets just say he's a deity now. JaronK made good use of his new heightened knowledge. He informed other powerful beings, known as "DM's" on how to make the world more fun for "players" through proper balance before a world would even spring to existence! It is not known what plane he lies on, but he frequently visits to plane of Giants in the Playground to grant his wisdom on others and explain the balance of the universe. It is rumored that the only knowledge of the universe not perfectly clear to JaronK is that involving psionics, but even then his knowledge is greater than that of most mortals.

I'm statting up people based of my experiences with them, so keep in mind that my opinion may be horribly off from yours. I'm also writing ~1/2 this section before looking up stuff so that way I know what qualities I'm looking for in terms of domains, etc.

The first thing I ever knew about JaronK is that he is "the tier list" guy, I don't think I need to elaborate much more on what this entails as I think we're sick of tier list discussions at this point. But basically this would make me think of him as 1) and older god, 2) not-chaotic 3) Having to do with balance

Ofc, having joined GITP about a year ago, I now know a bit more about JaronK. He's not just the tier list guy, but I also think of him as "Mr. Build helpful." While not as visible as Tippy in this regard (seriously, I think I've seen tippy in every "I need help with an interesting build" thread ever) he still frequently chimes in with a short piece of sage advice followed by his signature at the end. He can also be found explaining his tier list, he usually defends the list and the classes placings (see: Warblade/Warlock discussion recently) without being rude, talking down to others, etc. He simply explains his placement and explains it well.

He also wrote a neat scouting guide.

If there are adjectives I'd use to describe Mr JaronK its: helpful, polite, structured, consistent, clear, understanding (as in he helps you understand better build options/his tier list).

Now I really want to do Tippy to contrast him with JaronK (Tippy's a cool guy also, so it would be fun)

DOMAIN explanations:
Balance: See Tier lsit and how JaronK discussed how to balance gaames around it
Community: JaronK is polite, helpful, active member of GitP
Destiny: Related to the idea that being a certain class can someone destin you to a certain level of power
Good: JaronK's a pretty good guy in my book
Law: JaronK is pretty consistent and unwavering, he doesn't take this very far though, which is why I think Jaron is more of the Good than the Lawful type
Knowledge: He has a good mastery of the 3.5 rules as far as I'm aware.
Halfling: Dude, JaronK is a halfling

I see this thread hitting 8-10 pages no problem, so that is a lot of page-flipping. As a PbP-DM, page-flipping is quite tiresome, and I'd like to spare surfers of this thread mainly interested in reading deity profiles the headache (not to mention the creators).

If it's just one headache in place of another, though, no bother. No one will die from having to trawl internet threads......will they? *panic*

Backstory:
Lo, the titan diety in the playground, Kish! Kish is a cosmic force of knowledge that has existed beyond the age of mortal man. He specializes in knowledge of some obscure universe filled with stick figures, but also is skilled in knowledge of the physics of said universe as well. Kish sees the universe of stick figures, and often discusses with other being in the plane of Giants in the Playground what is the meaning and life lessons that are observed from the land of Stick Figures (OotS if you haven't realized by now).

Often, the powerful Kish comes into disagreement with other beings within the plane of Giants in the Playground. One must be careful, for Kish is quite knowledgeable in the art of debate, and a fallacy of logic will quickly cause Kish to raise an eyebrow and unleash a deific smiting. While not perfect at debate himself, he is certainly above many. He is a deity with a multitude of opinions on the world of Stick Figures, and he has no fear of disagreeing and may even behave a tad bit like a grumpus.

But, perhaps Kish's most interesting quality, is that his visage and persona are merely an illusion. For in fact Kish is actually Rich Berlew, disguised.

Oooooh boy. Ok, so my first conversation with Kish was about whether Roy was committing an evil act in Strip #11 off OotS (This is not the place to argue about it). During the conversation it was clear that me and Kish were not gonna agree, I accused him of being rude, he pointed out I was being rude, and, what can I say, I was indeed.

So, before I review at any posts, this is how I think of Kish:
Kish is Rich Berlews second account (YES, I HAVE FIGURED YOU OUT!), in which he is more free to grumpily point out to people why they're wrong about OotS.

This is because: 1) From memory, Kish tends to agree with Rich... about everything (not like, he fanboys about it, he just has the same opinion) 2) He can be a grumpus sometimes 3) Is it weird to say that he just argues how I think Rich would argue if no one knew it was him?

Now, lets talk more about Kish. His knowledge of OotS is expansive, he knows his stuff, and he'll correct you. Have an opinion about OotS at all? Well you can bet Kish will contribute to the discussion, either agreeing or disagreeing, but always bring up a good point. Some of his disagreements with others end up becoming nitpicking of logic and Kish is pretty solid about giving clear following arguments.

So, I didn't actually go look up posts... I decided to do this from memory. Anyway lets review, what is kish like?
1) He is Rich Berlew (DENY IT ALL YOU WANT, I SEE THE TRUTH)
2) He knows OotS (so some lore based thing here, not mechanics, but lore)
3) He can be a tiny bit of a grumpus sometimes
4) Hes pretty good with logic
5) Is very vocal about his opinions

DOMAIN explanation:

Courage - He's not afraid to have an opinion and back it up
Competition - Oh, he is not backing down
Knowledge - He knows his OotS
Law - Logical and consistent
Elf - Dude, he's an elf
Trickery - He's so good at trickery that I'm the only one who knows hes Rich!!! Too late now though!

I don't think I did as good of a job on this one. But JaronK is easily in my top 3 favorite people in GITP, so it's no surprise I did better on that one.
