...Wow. I usually finish mine, unless they're beasts, in about ten, twenty minutes. Shading, is used, can delay it longer. But I don't use templates like Asdflove.

I don't use templates (with the exception of my goblins) or shade. I also only started making OotS styled things around March of this year *shrugs*
I'm also about the only one who does anything in the house, but I'd rather not go on a rant about that here in this thread >_<

And I see no point in completely redrawing something when I don't need too, but when I do draw something from scratch it only takes a few extra minutes.

I think her feet could use some work. They look a bit small to me. Other than that, she looks great!

She's a bit taller than most Oots avatars, but that's just a style issue.

Apologies for the background, the art program I use doesn't play nice with transparent GIF stuff for some reason, so it's easiest/best to just do it as a JPEG.

Will try to do a better one later once I figure out what I'm playing in the forum OOTS campaign. I feel like it's an improvement over my previous attempts at least, even if it's far from perfect.

Really? I'm quite a bit worse at drawing, and I can make decent stick figure poses (I'm not so good at drawing poses where the arms or legs cross each other, though. I'm trying to figure out the pose for two-handed guns). Basically, just practice with basic stick figures (although put a line across for the shoulders).

Also, both the orc and the Max Payne guy are left-handed.

Natural posing is easy if they're standing there. The problem is making it look dynamic.

For having just started, you've done a magnificent job. Your lines all seem to be pretty consistent with the exceptions of the magic in the hand, the crystal/gem upon the staff, and the stars glistening/glittering around that. My only suggestions would be to round the lines for a smoother appearance and put "caps" on the ends of the lines (if that's the wrong name, I apologize).

Cute! I would suggest making the hands a bit bigger, and the ears a bit fuller to bring out the feline look. The eyes are a bit oddly shaped, like upside-down teardrops; maybe a bit rounder? Like, less pointed at the bottom.

Is this the same character as the one in your avatar? (Which is quite lovely, by the way.)

Interesting exercise in perspective, although I'm not entirely certain what the brown strip is. A ribbon? A cane?

I totally agree with you; OOTS is elegant in its simplicity. You seem to have a good feel for the style, too. :)

Constructive criticism...um, basically everything gurgleflep said. Though I would also suggest you consider completely omitting the outline on the fiery ball of magic; to me it adds a sense of ethereality.

I notice that you're using it as an avatar; might I suggest making it transparent? I find they tend to look better that way.

Thank you so very much hehe <._.> That is very useful advice. It may seem strange, I find OOTS style much harder than regular drawing for some reason, so the critique is very welcome.

Also yes, it's the same character as in my current avatar <^.^> The avatar was for Steampunk Week, which is why she's dressed that way in it as opposed to her more standard samurai or adventuring attire.
