I was on a ship for two weeks, working. In that time I went up and down many ladders and went through different hatches. Not once did I trip or fall on any of this. Then on the last day as I'm going down one of the ladders I think to myself about how nice it's been not to hit anything...and I lose my footing. After successfully executing a hard elbow drop on the edge of a hatch the triceps on both my arms are a remarkable shade of blue.

I parsed the previous puns as being liquid related, so in an attempt to continue the theme used what I would assume to be the preferred disposal method for liquid. Not that it was particularly funny, but that is the reason. It is not really related to jars or doors.

*Technically a dissertation, but I'm not sure if there's an actual difference or different universities just have different terms.

I actually was a bit disappointed (but not surprised) that people were making them so blatant; only a bit, though.

My thesis is 57 pages long at last check; I think there are dissertations that are shorter. At my university, the difference is that you write a thesis for a master's degree and a dissertation for a PhD. My wife has told me that I am not allowed to pursue a PhD at this time.
