Generally, the baner doesn't protect from non-kill powers. That's something we sometimes do around here because there's so many anti-town powers that can exist, but usually it's just protection from killing. In fact if you check the Spider role, you'll see they only protect from the kill.



It's part of why I try to give new players a pass their first few games. I will say that if I was like...Spider, and you'd claimed Spider, I might've been willing to just let that slide 'til like d3 or something. Not worth chasing someone away with aggressive accusations when they can't even mislead town. But if you're gonna fakeclaim my infopower I can't just let that go. Sorry.

Getting new players isn't too hard, it seems we have at least one each game. Keeping them can be a chore, but that's partly just cuz it's that kinda game. This community is relatively chill (I'm in a game over on MU right now that is supposed to be a quiet game for quiet people that has reached 5700 posts by N3 ;-;), but social lying games tend to be a very "love it or hate it" kinda deal.

You were a wolf seer, and claimed town seer with no other claimaints. So similar in a way, but different.
But... I guess that I should include Xihirli in my list of those I could imagine making incredibly bold moves as a wolf. Just that point usually doesn't really factor into my analysis of Xihirli because she makes those moves regardless of alignment and, at times, discernible logic.

And her post sows a seed of doubt in my mind if Xi claims any power role... which makes me want to trust her as town because that's a strange thing for a wolf to do... but makes me want to doubt her as town because...
A WIFOM spiral started by Xihirli is a tricky thing to be in.

I'll have to take your word for it, that the first to claim is the first to die. But the reason people aren't exactly eager to start a lynching is that this is a lower risk wolf mislynch then a normal game.

Cause A) I don't auto-flip. And B)There's a 1 in 10, 1 in 11 chance you gank the seer this night, and then you can't be scryed until you fail to reveal a monkey death.

To be fair this game does give an oddness to fakeclaiming (especially related to Crow) that makes doubting a counterclaimer more legitimate than in most games.
BUT that same oddness is the main reason it makes sense for a wolf to fakeclaim Crow if in the lead. Which is why -- plus some odd vibes from her posts (pocketing; maybe hinting in a way to be baner or medic; that timestamp thing with when game started that WIFOMed me too much to evaluate) -- I've stayed on the Illven wagon.

Back to the personal edge: so some of it is mechanics. But I agree most of it is probably that you have a reputation which leads to some unfairness.
