Re: Duck Season II: Firing Back
Day 2 over. Please await narration.
- - - Updated - - -
Day 2 Over
After the strange events of the previous night, the hunters are more scared than before. They manage to gather in two small groups when hunters run into each other, and each group comes up with a different attacks strategy. However, a shot from the woods sends both groups scattering. Two groups reform, a bit different from before. Everyone is scrambling to find a way to catch those pesky ducks. Again, the groups are scattered, but this time they each have a plan.
One group slowly sneaks up on a bush they saw a rustle of movement in, surrounding it. The other group does the same somewhere else. A shout from each leader:
FIRE!
ATTACK!
And the hunters open fire. After a long period of shredding the bush, they decide to see the duck they hope they shot. Upon looking, however, neither group finds a body, hunter or duck. Someone mutters something about shenanigans, but it's too late to do anything as the sun is setting.

Re: Duck Season II: Firing Back
OM_G! You frickin' chicken, you almost got me lynched. After I tried to save your sorry behind! I am definitely out to fry you from here on out. That chicken is a duck, I'm sure of it.
This is the conversation I had with the chicken earlier yesterday:

Can confirm this conversation occurred. Needed to hear it from your own mouth that you targeted me before I pushed your wagon. I've either got 2 lying watcher claims or one lying pixie. I know which side I'd believe every time there.

Just missed the end of the day, sorry all. The sudden wave of people voting for Lex seems a little iffy to me, especially at the end of the day. I'll try to look into it more when I have Ipad access.

Re: Duck Season II: Firing Back
Lex, since you confirmed that you targeted me with a day bane last night, the only situations where you're not a Duck here is if your ability got redirected by a third party who happens to be a Duck without your knowledge or if both my watchers are Ducks.
If any non Duck did have an ability that could have potentially redirected Lex last night, I'd strongly suggest you speak now before a horrible massacre occurs.

Re: Duck Season II: Firing Back
Me. I'm a voider. I will not have much internet access this weekend so.... maybe I'll get killed. Frankly, I need a few days to sort my life out, so it's not a big deal.

Re: Duck Season II: Firing Back
On an unrelated note, I'm looking for a replacement for Cabalistic Carnival. I posted in the Pub and Central, but I've gotten no response. Duck said I could post here, and I figured it was best to wait until the day phase had ended. If anybody's interested and not already playing () please let me know.

Why would you void Lex-Kat? If she dies we find out who was lying between her and Fleeing Coward.
Please explain your reasoning.Orth Plays: Currently Baldur's Gate II

Re: Duck Season II: Firing Back
Doesn't voiding mean that the target can't use their night action? This would have no effect on whether Lex-Kat died or not.

Re: Duck Season II: Firing Back
Oh right, I think so, and for that good choice. It'd be baning if you were protecting her.
(If your description of your abilities is like mine, it should spell out exactly what they do rather than using jargon--or maybe Duck999 just did that with mine because he knows this is only my second game.)Last edited by Kish; 2016-07-09 at 03:22 PM.

Re: Duck Season II: Firing Back
Nope, the PM just said I was a "voider". I found out what the role did from WW Central.
Also, this is only my third game (I was in Phantom of the Opera IX and replaced Internet Flea mid-game in Cabalistic Carnival).Last edited by Black Socks; 2016-07-09 at 03:28 PM.

Re: Duck Season II: Firing Back
Feel free to try to kill me now Ducks. I've set everything up so that various people all have different pieces of information that I've gathered over the past day and a way to connect them when needed.
If you're not already in the makeshift network I've set up, I don't fancy your chances
If any other hunters or neutrals wish to talk, feel free to PM me. The faster we reduce the number of unknowns, the quicker we win this.

Re: Duck Season II: Firing Back
So, I have an opportunity to establish myself as town—with as much certainty as anyone can have before the game ends, I think.
I had a one-time vigilante ability. Had rather than have because I used it tonight on Lex-Kat. If she dies and it’s specified as a vigilante kill, or the narration says “someone tried to kill Lex-Kat but it was prevented by X,” or—you get the idea—it was me.
I have two other minor abilities: random one-use voiding, and I’ll survive if I get lynched once.Last edited by Kish; 2016-07-10 at 07:01 PM.

Re: Duck Season II: Firing Back
Apologies to anyone planning around the nights end, but the night will be extended a little more than 12 hours. This is an attempt to get the phase ends to be at a time easier for me to write narrations and keep track of everything.

There are wolf vigilante abilities? Huh. Oh well. My remaining abilities aren't terribly useful to town anyway.

Re: Duck Season II: Firing Back
A void *could* be useful for town, but I can only think of limited situations for it. If you know there's a wolf, but you can't kill them, for some reason. I guess maybe there are situations where you would know there were two wolves and you could only lynch one of them. Or maybe a wolf with an extra life, so you void them that night just in case. Or a wolf day-baner, but those are pretty rare. Or a situation where there's a wolf who can't be lynched until all other wolves are dead (this happened in a Batman-themed game that I read but didn't play in, and I'm sure it's not the only time), but that's obviously not this game.

Re: Duck Season II: Firing Back
Though the Joker in the Batman themed game, if I remember correctly, was announced at the very beginning of the game. Happyturtle did a wonderful job, I think, as a distracting force. But then, she is my Mistress , So I would say that no matter what.

Re: Duck Season II: Firing Back
Night 2 Over
With all the shenanigans during the day, the night becomes even crazier than the previous one. People running around, firing their guns wherever they think there might be a duck.
One hunter who doesn't associate himself with the others stalks ff into the woods alone, gun at the ready. Soon, he realizes he is lost and tries to find other hunters, only to hear rustling in the bushes around him. He swings his gun around, ready to fire.
Who is it? Whaddya wan' with me?
When no response comes, the hunter fires into the bushes. A voice screams out, but it's too late, the job is done.
Somewhere else, a hunter is out hunting for the first time. Sadly, this makes him a little trigger happy. He stalks the woods, separated from other hunters, ready to shoot t whatever might be a duck. A rustle in the bush. He doesn't ask questions. He just shoots. No response. He missed. He stalks farther into the woods, still alone. Soon, he hears some quacking and fires into the bushes around him. A sudden louder quack, and some ducks fly off.
This'll be easy. They're practically doing our job for us.
A chuckle from another duck.
Yeah. Well, it's time to do our thing.
The other ducks nod, and go their separate ways. When they regroup, one is missing.
Spoiler: ResultsLex-kat was killed. She was the hunterling, a hunter mason.
Ramsus was killed. He was a duck, the Penultimate Duck (A.K.A The 999th Duck).
Murska was killed. He was the famous hunter, a hunter.

Re: Duck Season II: Firing Back
Wolf in the first time in basically forever and I die on night 2, yeah that's about right. Now I get to look forward to another 20+ games of not being a wolf and people not letting me live past day 4 because I'm so clearly a wolf all the time or whatever. And it's not like I was really looking forward to doing crazy stuff in a Duck game and nobody else really tries for the same wacky fun as him so it's not even really an option anywhere else or anything.

Re: Duck Season II: Firing Back
Huh. No hints of Ramsus being a duck were apparent to me.
Him being a duck is quite possibly the only thing that would have made me hesitate to want to kill Fleeing Coward today, since Lex-Kat was indeed town with a role that might grant day-baning.Orth Plays: Currently Baldur's Gate II
