Wow. Way to set up a dangerous, tense situation and then remove it with a handwave.. Also, those mafia bosses are really useless, huh?

I knew some dumb sh*t was going to happen, but I can honestly say that I didn't expect it to be this dumb. Mookie really is committed to making every villain a complete joke, isn't he? I think the only one who was ever actually a threat was the Countess who we haven't seen in years. (Whatever happened to that psychoanalysis subplot with her, anyway? That just disappeared half finished.)

I'd say Stupid Name Bill and Whisperpig and the Dragon Lords were the last somewhat threatening enemies, but even that was a joke compared to the Countess.

Kinda sad that the antagonists only get less and less dangerous as the story progresses.
Maybe next Starpower will face kindergardeners stealing candy.

Assuming that there was something to it at all, it could have been meant as some sort of deep introspective story that ended with a revelation. If that's the case, it didn't really work.

I think the... Let's call it "uniqueness", of this story was less the threat level of the enemy and more the confusion level of who the enemy actually was.

Was it the corrupted cops? The mob leaders? The assassin? The need to get proof or whatever?

Im still waiting on this detective to do a heel turn personally. Also, remember the arc isnt done yet. We still have the dirty cop issue that might pop up. On the other hand, if I were dirty, i would keep my head down till the human battleship leaves before trying anything again, and its also the sort of thing I expect to learn the benevolent galactic government will handle now that its been brought to their attention. That seems to be an odd theme in the comic, the gubbamint shows up and actually fixes things or finishes them.

We'll see. I think the other shoe has still to drop.
We are only on issue two after all, so unless the rest of the arc deals with something completely different it isn't over yet.

Can't say I'm a fan of this little pairing. If anything I liked the idea of Grex and Burke. Guess Mookie just has something against interspecies dating. I mean, this is the same guy that had the land itself turn a guy into an orc in Dominic Deegan just to make sure a pairing was orc-orc instead of orc-human.

Poor Danica, but what was she expecting when working alongside the Mafia? Just be thankful he awaited until you had escaped with the slaves before blowing up the hideout.

The worst part is I can't even disagree with the Mafia boss' methods here.
I mean, if they had a way to ensure they go to prison and stay there leaving them alive would be fine, but like this?
Leaving them in their stronghold, where they can prepare for whoever is dumb enough to try and pick them up?
Yeah, no. Blowing them up probably means less pointless death.

I'm sure Mookie thinks this is supposed to be a bad thing, and it'll be fun seeing Danica sputter, but come on. It's the lair of a bunch of culty assassins who take a fetishistic glee in murdering people.

    Nothing of value was lost.

Blowing the whole place up is evil, but sensible. Hard to reason with murder cultists that were already killing each other.

Well, I can honestly say that I'm going to miss Star Power. It's a fun, dumb comic that is truly ripe for snarking. And there are so many plot threads that are now going to be left dangling forever. A pity.

Lets post theories about how it will end. My theory is, in the aftermath of her one woman assault on the crime families, the galactic defense will basically tell her she has to either retire from crime fighting or leave the federation because she is too much of a loose cannon or too extreme for civilized lands. So she goes off with the exploratory ship, forget the name, and vanishes into legend.

Do you really think that Mookie of all people would go for a bittersweet ending like that? Nah, my prediction is that her one woman rampage against the families successfully ends all organized crime in the galaxy. The Federation rewards her for her actions despite them being illegal and highly dangerous. Then, she either continues being a crime fighting vigilante against smaller villains we don't need to care about, rides off into the sunset and joins the exploration crew full-time, or happily retires having solved all problems everywhere for all time.

Nah, we get a timeskip as danica is an old woman recording her life story as the narrator this whole time, she is the head of a new armada of star powered sentinels. How she created them, what they do, all that is left unexplained just because.
