[Black Socks]

Generic Webcomic Forum (GWF) was a peaceful place, with a small but loyal community of users. But everything changed when the trolls attacked. Now, the users must fight for their beloved GWF in a great battle... A battle that would come to be known as the

FORUM WARS!

Hello Playground! This is my first time running a WW game, so thank you in advance for your patience.

The game is played in turns that consist of two different phases.
There's a day phase that happens from dawn ‘til dusk in game. This period lasts 48 hours. During this time all the players try to decide who the trolls are by voting for them. Votes are done in red text. You may change your vote if you wish, in which case, you should edit your previous post and strike-through your previous vote. Once the day has ended, whoever has the most votes is removed from the game (Lynched). In the event of a tie, whichever player reached that number of votes first will be lynched.
Auto-lynches: If a player fails to vote for 2 consecutive day phases, they will be auto-lynched. If you will be unable to get online to post in your games for some period of time, you should notify the narrator in advance, either in-thread or via PM.
The next phase is the night phase, which lasts from dusk ‘til dawn. This phase lasts 48 hours. During this phase, anyone that has a special action to perform during that time does so via PM to the narrator. This is the phase of the game where the trolls would tell the narrators who they would like to kill. Using a combination of spam, hacking, viruses and sheer annoyance, they force that user to leave GWF.
After time's up, the narrator will post the opening of the following Day Scene and it starts all over again.
This continues until either A) all of the Trolls are destroyed by the Users -or- B) the Trolls reduce the total number of non-troll players to equal their own, because at that point the trolls will be able to take over GWF by force.

Users:
User- An ordinary member of the forum. (Villager)
WW Master- A frequent player of GWF's werewolf games. He's gotten so good at analyzing people's behaviour that he can actually find the trolls in the community. (Seer)
WW Apprentice- He is still learning the ways of werewolf. His readings of people are not always accurate. If he examines the WW Master, he will get the result of WW Apprentice, and vice versa. (Fool)
Moderators- The former mods of GWF. 'Former' because the hacker has stripped them of almost all of their mod powers. However, they can still temporarily ban someone, protecting that person from any troll attacks while they're banned. (Masons with a collective Bane power)
Trolls:
Troll- The scourge of the Internet, they've set their sights on GWF- but will they get it? (Wolf)
Spammer- This guy's computer haunts Norton's nightmares. If he is lynched, he'll take one person who voted for him down with him in a burst of spam and viruses. (Beast)
Hacker- The guy behind the mods losing their powers and the admin's account being hacked. He can use his power to hack people's profiles and learn their true identities. (Devil)
Leader- The leader of all the trolls. He's learned how to act like a member of the forum, to the point that he appears to be a user to the WW Master and the WW Apprentice. However, if both the Master and Apprentice examine the Leader in the same night, they will learn his true allegiance. (Alpha)

Note: From the 15th to the 23rd, I will be visiting family in New Brunswick. During that time, I will have very limited internet access. So, assuming enough people sign up by then (hoping for around 20 but could make do with as little as 10), the game will begin on Sunday July 24.

Oh, yeah, one other thing:
I like roleplaying. While I am not going to make it mandatory to role-play, I will do the following to encourage it:
Halfway through the game*, I will judge who has done the best** roleplaying. That person will get a prize. The winner will not be announced until the prize has been used, since otherwise the winner would be a target for the trolls. Note that a troll could also win this prize.
*e.g. when about half the players have been killed.
**not just judging on quantity. Quality is more important.

I meant the mason/baner combo and how the Fool and Seer could work together to find the Alpha, which I believe isn't standard. Like I said, I was just genuinely curious if that's what inspired it, I don't mind at all.

I'm fairly certain it's not, or least I haven't heard of it, but I'm also fairly certain I can't be the first to have ever thought about it. I'm glad you liked the Mason/baner thing, and I'm looking forward to see how the mechanics play out from a player perspective.
