Re: TaiLiu's Tea-Filled Tome of Random Banter #193
For those of you waiting on me writing a campaign log, the first session is done, and depending on when I finish typing the second, will be posted tonight or tomorrow, or later or whenever or something.
Highly promising, I know.
My poor username... WHAT HAVE YOU DONE?!?!?!?!
I should probably keep a list of the things I've been called, but I feel like it's too late to start... I'll have missed a bunch of good ones.
ION: Our family has increased by one; a small black cat. I have dubbed him Prince Edward (after having several other names rejected for various reasons), but it remains to be seen if that name will actually stick. Pictures will be forthcoming as soon as he is caught in one. He's taken a liking to biting my fingers/toes, but seems to be rather friendly.
Amusingly enough, the resident black and white cat is somewhat resentful of Prince Edward's presence, and has taken opportunities to hiss and growl at him. She's somehow terrified of the small cat, though, and all it took was him hissing back once to send her scurrying off to some corner of the house. She'll calm down eventually.Avatar by FinnLassie

Because only half of it directly receives light; the shield is curved; with a spiking outward in the centre portion; hence the right portion being shaded. She's also mostly behind the shield.
It IS curved; rather than bent. And the denting is probably just the shape of it and the resolution making it seem odd.

Re: TaiLiu's Tea-Filled Tome of Random Banter #193
Well... it's my favorite anime and I tell everyone to watch it. It's on Hulu for free (although I don't know if what Hulu has available varies by country).
Yes, because cats NEVER hiss at people, while that's totally a normal thing for one human to do to another.
You also like peanut butter... JUST LIKE A CAT! there is only one final test:
*holds out catnip*
In my opinion, the movies are not NEARLY as good as the BBC series.
Of course! Your avatar now contains a human! Even though you're a kitty!
Also, shinies!
What's that? Sleep for a week? CAN DO. *snore*
Nice! I LOVE kubb! Some of my more Scandinavian cousins always bring it when we go camping, and it is SUPER fun.
ION: abridged-to-less-than-one-day-and-therefore-not-really-camping trip today! I got to eat steak and hang out with puppy dogs and it was AWESOME. Also got to hang out with my soon-to-be-second-cousin-by-marriage, who is a pretty cool young lady. She's got a talent for snark, but she's untrained, raw. I must train her to hone her skills.Quotes!

Re: TaiLiu's Tea-Filled Tome of Random Banter #193
Basics of kubb: you set up two sets of five blocks (the kubbs) about thirty feet from each other, with a King block in the middle. Decide who goes first. That team (yes, it's a team sport) throws their six batons (total, divided amongst the team members) and tries to knock over their opponent's kubbs. Any kubbs that are knocked over are then thrown onto your opponent's half of the field, then stood on end wherever they landed. These have to be knocked down before you can aim at their original kubbs. Once all of your opponents' kubbs are knocked over then you can aim at the king in the middle. First team to knock over the king wins.

*headdesk* If I ever express a desire to marry... someone please beat me. Repeatedly.
Got my first taste of crying Coalzor today. That was certainly something. Also my parent's oldcat went crazy frenetic in climbing up the tree in their front yard and then stared intently into the bird's nest there for about 5 minutes like he was willing it to contain some kind of treasure.
Also, there's something weird about shaved newfoundlands. I can't quite place it but it seems... off somehow, and not just because you can't really shave their heads/faces...
Well, I know I'm a reprobate and all, but really?

Eh... I got it on Xbox. Odd game. Good gameplay, really cool, but the plot is just weird where it isn't cheesy or out-of-nowhere. Fidgit's funny though.
I mean seriously, you're actually a double-reincarnation-thing And you don't remember til you're told and then you get all of the memories back?
And the cutscenes...
And everyone's an anthropomorphic animal for some reason.
On another note, just watched The Man From Earth. Odd movie... glad it didn't have more of a budget or they'd have ruined it with enactments and special effects.Last edited by Qwertystop; 2013-05-25 at 10:55 PM.

I'll hire for punches and blunt instruments, such as sledgehammers. Axes will cost you extra, and I don't do swords or pointy sticks.
Both of these sound like a story in the works, the first on your end, and the second to be elaborated by a neutral third party with a wild imagination.
I think he forgot the majority of the forum, actually. I wouldn't worry too much about it.

Approximately three people in the whole Friendly Banter subforum have an avatar made by me; not counting myself. Only one of them in the Random Banter.

Re: TaiLiu's Tea-Filled Tome of Random Banter #193
My only issue is about the plot is that a few things are REALLY not explained at all. Within the first level it lets you know who the antagonist, and yet every once and a while it refers to the army as 'the king's men.' Despite the fact that the king is NEVER MENTIONED. Why is the antagonist so sovereign to the royalty if they exist?
The memory thing makes sense though. Rule of anime is that amnesia is only cured when it becomes plot relevant.
and I LIKED the cutscenes...
And the anthropomorphic thing was just an art thing. I admit it was very unnecessary though since the only time it was relevant was the one(!) animal joke.
Altogether, I liked it a lot. Cheesiness and all. Especially considering one guy did a vast majority of everything that wasn't testing and voicing.Last edited by Deathkeeper; 2013-05-25 at 11:17 PM.

I think you've gotten yourself confused with an Australian, who would probably protest the "more than man" part of it.
*nods sagely* Denying is often much easier than confirming, although that depends on the evidence available.
Yeah, but we're supposed to be doing a quest or something... I think. I dunno, this is the first session in 2 months, and I wasn't there for the last one.
Dimonite started it after I managed to quote him before he edited his posts, and he and Kneenibble have called me it often enough that it made it into my sig.

SpoilerWell, you're a ginger-kin, and there is the process of Osmosis of Scottishness. Probably hasn't had an appreciable effect. Yet.
That's like... whiter than milk.
Huh. The most I ever get is an intense craving which is satisfied after 2-3 sandwiches and then it goes dormant for a month or several months. Maybe you're turning Hyper-American or Were-'Murican. Were you bitten by any strange, hairy creatures in the past few months? Been in proximity to figures cloaked primarily in flags?
Oy.
Something like that. I still have a big thick wooly comforter too that's my winter comforter, actually.
That's... impressive and scary.
It's actually annoyingly difficult to find a mars bar in the U.S. I've only seen them once. And from what I recall, I'd probably prefer a snickers instead. I want to try a fried fast break too though. That one reese's candy bar variant.
Because of the amount.
That's pretty interesting. I can't imagine how annoying that must have been though. Synesthesia always fascinates me. Though I normally dread whatever associations would be made or have been made involving myself.
Well, I guess there's no way to explain without any frame of reference.
Just means you've got to plan and make up for the delay with extra awesome. I love listening to the cake decorators at work talk about their private projects.

Uh-uh! I'm a galoot! *pouts*
Did you know that it's okay to be Takei?
So it's even further!
So I'm a peppermint candy now?
That's an interesting turn of phrase. I still need to get on that and listen to the lot of it rather than that one single track.
I just can't win.
I'm sorry.

SpoilerHm. I guess you'll have to use the powers of accountancy on the problem then.
I thought you were getting dragged there by friend or friends in the original construction.
Exactly.
Thannk you.
I'm sorry.
*shrug* Just found it interesting is all. Sorry.
who could say? who can say? who would say? And why?
Probably for the best. I'd be a bit worried at your age.
That's an interesting conception.
I can't even imagine that kind of setup.
Gambia would fall into that category or did?
Only if they don't let you back onto the dock.
