And Magtok could be curator or something since he seems to be having his own mental breakdown lately.
That's four! Anyone else want in?
P.S. Looking forward to it KidKris.

Re: ACRONYM OOC 3: Freeform Forever!
Then there will have to be some detective work. This problem isn't going to be solved on its own. Now, there's a hard way, and an easy way.
Hard Way: Do intensive research on memories, and the effect of the soul on the mind, as well as research on what happens to the soulless after death.
Easy Way: Ask Tessa.Originally Posted by Lord Magtok

Fine. Ask uh... I'm sure DC can find someone... Vasilisa? I'm not sure how far Poppet's seeming omniscience extends. Orson would know, Decker might.
...
Aha. Rumor has it there's a wise sage who lives on a mountain. They would definitely know.Originally Posted by Lord Magtok

You know... Calublufiok has both his own extensive experience and Tessa's knowledge. I'm sure there's a dark deal that can be cut with the dead. With the right spells. Maybe ask Vorka and his sentient book for help.

Nooo... Go with the hermit. That rumor that your friend heard from a friend heard from a friend heard from a brother heard from a brothel heard from an acquaintance heard from a random drunk is always true. Always.

Re: ACRONYM OOC 3: Freeform Forever!
Crey has a parchment that can be used to contact Tessa. Or, you know, a powerful psychic could probably reach her telepathically.

Re: ACRONYM OOC 3: Freeform Forever!
Acronym Wide Event: The Fourth Plague
Animals, beasts, monstrous monsters, and things of such like, might, and most likely will, find themselves struck by an incredible rage, as well as a feeling of despair, and panic, and loathing for everything around them - save for the beings in the Glass Citadel (which, if they weren't aware of, before, they'd suddenly become awae of. The rage could well drive them to do things they would never normally do, and, due to the fact that the power behind it is also draining the common sense of those affected, such recklessness is plunged to a new level.
Use your common sense. Though the plague is designed for animals, and, then, obviously, characters that are animaline, it may well affect beings which have animal characteristics, or regularly take the form of animals. Or, indeed, beings that are very unintelligent, or susceptible to rage anyway.
The rage is not dispelled by magic, but take your common sense about it. If you are sick of playing it, say it wears off. Don't go a-whining about it.

Re: ACRONYM OOC 3: Freeform Forever!
Tieflings and Dragons? How would they be affected? Dragons in particular here, since one of my Tieflings is probably going to be omnomnomed by those little motes of light anyway, and the other is a monk, and is all disciplined and such (but still affected slightly).
@^^: And Crey would know as well, making the list of knowledgeable types:
- Crey
- Tessa
- Vasilisa?
- Calublufiok
- The Sage of the Mountain
- The Gods

Re: ACRONYM OOC 3: Freeform Forever!
No, Vasilisa wouldn't know. I haven't really defined Poppet's abilities yet, but Poppet represents wisdom far more than intelligence. Unless this is something than can be understood by intuition, she'll be out of her depth.

Re: ACRONYM OOC 3: Freeform Forever!
I'm wondering whether Fred should be affected by this considering his anger issues. I'm also wondering whether if it does affect him, if it means that the effects of his rage (a double in size and mass) become constant.

Re: ACRONYM OOC 3: Freeform Forever!
On another note:
The Children of the Great Impaler aka, Kris' custom Pantheon
In the beginning, there was nothing. Then, there was something. Many somethings in fact, all floating around in nothing. Some of the somethings were joined together, but most were separate, some big, some small. All the somethings had in common though, was that each had a god to rule that something.
The Great Impaler, in His unfathomable wisdom, looked at His something, comparing it to the other somethings (which, by now, were rather prosperous), and decided that it was quite boring. And so He, in His great and incomprehensible power, decided to make His something more interesting. And so He raiseth'd His almighty and powerful spear, and proclaimeth'd in a loud voice, ""LET THERE BE LIGHT! Eth." And lo, as if some cosmic lightbulbe had been switcheth'd on, there was light. Unfortunately, there was some small and insignificant oversight that He had made (and which we will choose to gloss over quickly, in favor of telling more of His almighty holiness), in that there was nothing for which to see in His something, makingeth the light quite useless.
And so, The Great Impaler, in His great and all-powerful almighty-ness, decided to create a little ball of rock to plonketh into his something, quickly followed by a nice soothing bath of planar goop.
He, in His impeccable decision making skills, decided to stare at the newly created 'world', sitting in His something, and, after creating millions more of them, with more lights to illuminateth them, decided that His something was *still* boring.
So He, in His so-cool-and-great-He-gets-a-capital-letter-in-His-third-person-pronoun-ness, decided to spice things up a bit by plonking some bacteria on His original world. Greatly enthused by His awesome creation, He decided to do the same on all His other worlds, but, by the time He had finished, and had gone back to checketh on His original world, found that the bacteria had evolved beyond all recognition.
"Oh bother." Said He in His understandable laziness. "I really can not be f*cked to keep up with all this."
And so, He, The Great Impaler, in His incredible tasksetting skills, createth'd six children, the First Gods, and, after plonking down some new life, formed in His own image, went into an early retirement filled with tropical beaches, pina coladas and gratuitous amounts of nude women. Gratuitous I say. Eth.
Eventually, some of these original Forerunners ascended to godhood, joining the First Gods to create the Children of the Great Impaler in their pantheonic entirety. The End. (Bob was there too.)
Miscellaneous stuffs before getting into the crunch.
There are 18 gods in total, 6 of which are First Gods, 6 of which are Ascended Gods, and 6 of which are Ascended Goddesses. They are arranged in 6 triumvirates, which each have a chosen focus.

Alignment
Spoiler
First, it should be noted that none of these gods are evil, all of them being good or neutral. The evil gods get a different pantheon. Also, though none of these gods are evil, and many incredibly good, all of them are corrupt in some way, being imperfect creations. Imperfect, since imperfection is part of their very nature. If they were perfect, they would be The Great Impaler. Which can't happen.

Power Levels
Spoiler
As determined by this scale. Note that while some of the Ascended Gods are more powerful in terms of offense than the First Gods in terms of offense (most noticeably Leonida, who can beat down anyone, excepting of course The Great Impaler, and maybe Draken), the First Gods are truly immortal, and can only be killed by The Great Impaler, and other such beings of biblical magnitude (like Draken). The Ascended Gods however, being of mortal origin, die easier, as evidenced by Thiche and Pytheas.

Why should you care?
Spoiler
Two Reasons:
- Most of my characters will worship one of these gods, and it's handy to have a reference.
- This is a free pantheon, in a freeform environment, and anyone can have any of their characters worship any of these gods. This includes being a cleric/paladin of that god. More involved stuff, like being a champion of a god will have to go through me. All direct contact of the god, ie. an audience or other verbal communication that isn't a simple prayer, request, wish or miracle, will require me to play the god in question. But don't let that dissuade you. Worship a god! Have one of your characters take one of their names in vain once every so often! Do it for me. Please? =3

I was expecting you to say that, but I was still hoping you'd say something else.
Well, I think I'll just let him be affected and then give it a little time before he gets big.
EDIT: KK, it sounds very good in my opinion from what I've read. It also sounds quite interesting.Last edited by Fredthefighter; 2009-04-11 at 06:57 AM.

Right. So Reinholdt's going to be exceptionally irritable and a bit reckless. Right when he's having his talk with Rabbit. I can see that going... poorly.
@ Kid Kris - Hmm... I coulda sworn I've seen Celeste's favored weapon somewhere, but where?
And remind me never to get Leonida angry. Err... actually just remind me never to meet her. She probably has rage issues anyways.

Music that is slightly relevant to current events.
In other news, I'll be in Bangkok from tomorrow* till Friday. Who knew? Certainly not me. I wish my parents would actually tell me about these things instead of casually talking about plans the day before the flight.
