Re: Not April Fool's WW I: Bermuda Playground
End Night 0
Everyone wakes up in the morning, ready for a day of adventuring and exploring the playground. Last minute checks are made, and everyone heads to the playground to explore. Now, this isn't just any playground. It's a playground that could host giants . When they arrive at the large, oversized playground, the team leader turns to address everyone.
"Okay folks. First I want to put this out in the open. I kind of was imagining this on a big boat. Considering the whole Bermuda theme and all. Considering our environment," he gestures to the sandy playground behind him, "A boat doesn't seem the most efficient form of travel. Unfortunately I already bought the boat." He gestures now to one side, where a large boat is sitting in the playground. "On the bright side, it has a full staff and amenities, so it will be our basecamp. The location isn't great, so we're going to have to move it."
The crew steps out from behind the boat, revealing that they were busy tying ropes to it.
"If everyone grabs a rope and pulls, we should be able to get it to a good location by night. We'll take a lunch break and by dinner we'll have a great location for our base camp."
A little reluctantly, everyone hops on a rope and starts to pull. It starts slow, but once the boat is moving it slices through the sand surprisingly easily. Around lunch time, everyone feels ready for a break. The leader faces everyone, ready to give another brief talk before the meal.
Suddenly, there's a flash of movement behind him. Anyone who was paying attention notices the top half of his body start to slide off the bottom half for a moment. Then, his body seems to disappear entirely, replaced by nearly one thousand ducks who take to the skies. Everyone looks around in confusion, suddenly suspicious of every movement. Something is going on here, and everyone wants to figure out what.
Spoiler: ResultsDuck999 has disappeared. He was the team leader and is now 999 ducks.
Begin Day 1
PM me any questions about your role. Also feel free to ask questions here if they are pertinent to everyone.

Re: Not April Fool's WW I: Bermuda Playground
Jeri is busy investigating the spot where the mission leader had been slain when she is accosted by another member of the expedition. "Jeri Burgess, it is time that we workers seized the means of boats."
Jeri seems to ponder for a moment, before coming to a decision and facing Xihirli. "Couple problems with that. First thing: I have a job. The only reason I'm here is because I was hired by the mission leader. Anything you take from me, you're taking from a worker. Second thing: the phrase you're referencing is 'means of production.' The word 'means' calls for a verb. While 'production' and 'boats' are technically both nouns, 'production' is a noun that represents the result of a verb. Production is the result of producing, explosion is the result of exploding, extension is the result of extending, and so on. 'Means of production' makes sense. 'Means of boats' doesn't. It should probably be 'means of transportation.' Third thing: the boat is not mine. Your entire reason for attacking me is nonsensical. It's almost as if you have no valid reason for choosing any particular target but must arbitrarily choose one."
Jeri turns around and crouches down over the spot where the leader died, adding one last comment before turning her attention back to the investigation, "If we're blindly choosing targets for our ire, I may as well choose you, Xihirli."

All this trouble over the boat? Then we must be rid of it, as people's lives are more valuable than a mere means of conveyance.

Re: Not April Fool's WW I: Bermuda Playground
Well that's quite a lot of votes on BourgeoisJerry. I think I'll balance it out a bit by putting a second vote on Silent_Interim.
(Randomly chosen among the three non-BourgeoisJerry votes that are actual players.)I'm Chaotic Good! Ish!

Re: Not April Fool's WW I: Bermuda Playground
You know, I am going to have to agree with Ramsus on this one, let's just scrap the boat. I am not quite sure what that does in terms of game mechanics, but I am sure we shall find out eventually.
Oh, and here is a current vote count for everybody
Silent Interim:IIII, by Cuthalion, Elenna, Tanar Aerdoth, Murska and Silent Interim,
Xihirli: II, by BourgeoisJerry and Kgato
The Boat:IIII, by Ramsus, Requilac, Caerulea, King Linus, and Xihirli
Ramsus: I by flatfooted
The boat and Silent Interim are neck and neck at this point.Last edited by Requilac; 2019-04-24 at 10:10 AM.

Re: Not April Fool's WW I: Bermuda Playground
You neglected to list yourself in that vote tally, though you did count your vote. I personally have changed reality so as to have never voted for BourgeoisJerry, and always voted for deconstructing the boat in order to make a castle in the sandbox.

Re: Not April Fool's WW I: Bermuda Playground
For the record, I pronounce it BOO(r)-zhwa. The R is almost silent, but not quite. I would post a link to where you can hear a french person say the word, but I'm not allowed to post links until my post count is 10 or above. All of my old posts have been culled. Also, very subtle with the hive thing.

Re: Not April Fool's WW I: Bermuda Playground
I am worried about all this clamouring to deconstruct our primary method of conveyance.
I prefer deconstructing some of the extra deckhands instead. Silent_Interim seems to both not be silent and also to be willing to lynch himself, which is a clear sign of a guilty conscience.
EDIT: I mean, woof. *curls up in warm sunlight*

I hasten to point out that the boat is not, in fact, currently a useful method of conveyance, let alone our primary one.
....not going to pull my vote off of myself though.
