The Stick Awards II: Second Edition (#0161 - #0170)
Welcome to The Stick Awards II: Second Edition!
The Stick Awards are handed out to the best strips of all time as chosen by our fellow Playgrounders.
This week we are covering the comic strips 161 through 170.
For full details about the Stick Awards, please check out the main thread here.
To read more about the original Stick Awards, created by Nazzo, the 102nd, please read his thread here.
To vote in this thread, simply state which comic of the ten listed is your favorite. Bolding the number of the comic (Like this) helps it stand out.

Last week, 151 - Learning Experience showed the other strips on just what was required to win a week. Who will end up winning this week? Only you can decide that.

A good batch all around, but #169 is the most memorable to me.

Got to be 162 for me, if only for the last three panels. I guess Roy got some nice character growth too.

I wish I could pick more than one. 162 is good, but 169 wins it for me.

Some nice Belkar slapstick in this batch, but I'll make mine 162 for Roy's character development.

164 Here He Comes, To Save the Day! - I was actually around during the time when this strip was uploaded, and I seem to recall the forums freaking out quite a bit about Belkar's "probable" death, heh.

Hmm. 162 and 169 are the frontrunners in my mind.
I gotta go for 162. Humor AND character development.I'm playing Ironsworn, an RPG that you can run solo - and I'm putting the campaign up on GitP!

Re: The Stick Awards II: Second Edition (#0161 - #0170)
Hm... I'm torn between 162 and 169, since both of those were the ones that I remembered without having to read them, though IIRC, it was 170 that introduced me to OOTS on a website somewhere. I suppose I'll go with 162 in the end.

Re: The Stick Awards II: Second Edition (#0161 - #0170)
I'll go with #167 though like the others, I think this is a very good set overall.
I just noticed the strips #168 and #879 have the same title. There must be some sense of order - personal, political or dramatic - and if no one else is going to bring it to this world, I will.

Character development, growth, and it only marginally features one of my least favourite running gags. (seriously, phobic fear of trees?)

Is it because Samantha is younger than her and has a higher Charisma score than she does?

Re: The Stick Awards II: Second Edition (#0161 - #0170)
Tight competition between 162, 169, and 170. In the end, I think I'm going with 169 just because it's Durkon-focused, and Durkon is rad.

Some really nice ones here - I really like 161, 167 (the bag of tricks is just awesome) and 169 (All hail the new bandit king!) but 170 - He's Still a Dwarf at Heart has my vote!

Re: The Stick Awards II: Second Edition (#0161 - #0170)
Wow, two really strong contenders this week! 162 is a major turning point for Roy; this is where Roy truly begins his Hero's Journey in Book 2. On the other hand, 169 has a classic Durkon moment. But I guess I really should go the scholarly route, and vote for 162. This is the start of Roy abandoning the role of selfish adventurer and his transformation into a Hero.
