Default The Stick Awards II: Second Edition (#0411 - #0420)

Welcome to The Stick Awards II: Second Edition!

The Stick Awards are handed out to the best strips of all time as chosen by our fellow Playgrounders.

This week we are covering the comic strips 411 through 420.

For full details about the Stick Awards, please check out the main thread here.

To read more about the original Stick Awards, created by Nazzo, the 102nd, please read his thread here.

To vote in this thread, simply state which comic of the ten listed is your favorite. Bolding the number of the comic (Like this) helps it stand out.

Voting for this week will close on May 21st, 4pm EDT. Any votes made after that will NOT count toward the totals.

Last week, 406 A Moment of Truth discovered some unsettling facts and..... HOLY CRAP WHAT THE HECK JUST HAPPENED!!!

*backs away slowly from 406 so not to startle it and places the Stick Award at a safe distance before running away in the other direction, incredibly fast*

    ....

Anywho, now that we're all a nice safe distance from the strip that apparently has some 'issues', let's try to put that recent unpleasantness out of our minds. And what better way to do that than to vote in.....

Hmmmm, some very good strips this round. Almost all of them have a good punchline or a very serious and important point. However, I must choose, and I will go with #413, which I have always liked.

As one of the funnier oddball comedy strips, I have to support the TeeVo in 415.

So I was reading though each of the strips as I usually do for these threads, and up until 417, 412 was my winner. Then I read 418 and ... yeah.

The last three are all good contenders, but in the end, i have to go straight for the junk (as always). 418 is my choice.

Compared to last week this seems kinda boring, but nevertheless some awesome strips.
I really like the Belkar-Hinjo interaction in 420, but seeing Miko in jail and the reaction/interaction with Belkar and Sabine is just superb. So 419 A Special Pre-Approved Offer it is.

Xykon's attention , Hinjo's Junk or Miko's temptation ? I'll go with 418 for pummeling the pun into submission.

I felt a great disturbance in the Force... as if millions of voices cried out "Hinjo's Junk!" and begged me to vote for it.

    I fear I must vote #418.

i think I'll go for 417. The siege is incoming, people will die by the thousands, so a serious and reflexive strip is appropriate. It's a reminder that this comic is not always light hearted.

Also 417. When he isn't doing awesome jokes, Rich can write a really thought-provoking strip too.

I'm going to go with 417. It's a strong indication they won't be together the next night, although it doesn't automatically reveal they will be separate but alive. It's also not just a bunch of jokes.

417 takes it this time. O-Chul is such a great character, and that's a pretty good scene.

418 is great, and 412 has got one of my favourite punchlines in the entire strip, but I'm gonna have to vote for 419. The schadenfreude of Miko being stuck in jail with Belkar is just too much.

Well, I had a small song and dance prepared here, bemoaning the fact that I couldn't vote for 418 since it would create a three way tie. But, thankfully, a last second vote lets me vote for who I wanted to all along. 418 may be juvenile, and it may be catering to the U R 5 crowd, but damn if it isn't hilairlous. And the Star Wars line seals the deal at the end. It just has too many great jokes for me to ignore. And it would have been deserving to win. Oh well, perhaps some other time.

    And with that....

    VOTING IS NOW CLOSED!

419 A Special Pre-Approved Offer is the winner this week. It now moves on to the Best of the Hundred tournament.
