WANTED: Vigilante Justice
WANTED: Vigilante Justice is a Werewolf/Mafia style game where bagging baddies gets you goodies!
During every day phase, all players will vote in red for a living player to be lynched. The first player to receive the highest number of votes will be lynched.
If a player does not cast a vote for a living player for 2 or more day cycles they will be auto-lynched.
The game ends when all Bandits are dead, or it is impossible for Town to win.
During the night, some roles can 'Investigate' a living player. Investigating a target will reveal their role and any items they currently have, but not the amount of money they are carrying.
Roles and held items (not money) are revealed on death.
All successful night kills are resolved simultaneously.
Bandit Roles:
The Bandits: Every night, the bandits can collectively choose both a target to kill, and a target to investigate. The Bandits cannot cash out bounties.
The Head Bandit: If the Head Bandit is killed, another randomly selected bandit player will take their place. If the Head Bandit is voided, all Bandit night actions will be voided. The Head Bandit cannot cash out bounties.
Town Roles:
The Sheriff: Every night, the Sheriff can investigate a target. The Sheriff cannot cash out bounties.
The Barkeep: Every night, the barkeep can void any other player's night action. Bandit kills can only be voided by targeting the Head Bandit The Barkeep cannot cash out bounties.
The Vigilantes: Regular townsfolk looking to dispense justice. The only players that can cash out bounties or purchase and use items.
Cashing Out a Bounty:
When a bandit dies, $24 will appear to be split between all players who made a successful lynch vote or night kill action, but only Vigilantes will receive any money. If no Vigilantes were involved in the lynching of a bandit, no bounty money will be distributed. (The "bounty payout has been awarded" message will still appear)
Purchasing Items:
Vigilantes can purchase one item, and use one item during any night phase (They do not have to be the same item).
Deringer - $10: One shot, one kill. The Deringer allows a Vigilante to night kill any living target.
Straw-Man - $15: Replacement for the innocent. The Straw-Man allows a Vigilante to protect any targeted player from being night killed.
Doctor's Bag - $27: Cures what ails ya! The Doctor's Bag allows a Vigilante to revive any dead player.
Neither Items, nor money, can be traded between players.

Having the money just vanish might result in town doing some very very weird math related things to attempt to maximize the town money pool/chances of actually being able to purchase items they care about.

Oh that's a good point. Any villager would be able to do the math and know how many villagers were on a wolf wagon based on how much money they got.

This seem to have simpler mecanics than most of the other games around, which might be a good thing for one last try at werewolf for a while. I would be in, If you still need players that is.

After some testing, I have decided to adjust the rules to Murska's suggestion. With the old rules, Vigilantes had a high chance of forming a network very early, making the game extremely difficult for the Bandits.
Money will now appear to be distributed evenly to all participants in a successful Bandit lynch or kill, but only Vigilantes can receive and use money.

You should make sure to increase the amounts of money per bandit kill so that vigilantes actually get the desired amounts of money as previously.
