Welcome to my third thread of sketches and various banter related to said sketches!

Most of you know the drill, I draw, I put it up here, you guys make various comments and depending on the comments I spiral into depression or get high off of praise.

Second, I do requests. Just post 'em on here and I'll try to get to them as soon as I can. Remember, these are requests, and I do them at my own pace, so don't be discouraged if your request is not up right away. If I am incapable of doing your request, I will tell you up front, so consider all requests put on here accepted unless otherwise stated.

Also, you may have noticed a bunch of other name's up there. These are the Featured Artist's, people who have asked for permission to post regularly in mah thread for the purpose o' feedback. If you want to post your art up here and if you wanna do it often, please feel free to ask. I won't make you wrestle a lion...the police said I can't do that anymore.

Feel free to post your requests here, Raz. I will try to get to them in a reasonable time. As for the average time a sketch takes me, I can't give an estimate, it's really all over the place.

I'm not sure what information you'd need, but all I know about his appearance so far is that he's (mostly) clean-shaven, has longish hair that he loosely ties back, has an excellent physique, but is starting to show his age - early 50s by our reckoning, and that he dresses simply.

I've heard that artists like being able to improvise, so that's all I'll ask of you. I hope you enjoy drawing it (and everyone else's requests as well!).

Niiiice. Not exactly what I had in mind, but I daresay you improved on the picture I had in my head. The only thing that seems a tad off is the feet, they seem slightly larger than normal.
But I do like the stubble on his chin - took me a bit to notice that - and as usual you've done a fantastic job with the clothing. Thank you!

I like the detail and attention especially that you pay to the hair and the clothing, but there is one thing I would love to see you work on, and that is the detailing of the eyelids and lashes. Wearing a slightly regal (though not overly royal) bard outfit, maybe similar to this (http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y176/juanico/bard.png) picture I found with my google-fu (though without the cape), with his holy symbol (use your imagination here, maybe a heart) and a mini-ocarina-onna-string hanging from his neck. He might have his royal dagger of royalness on his belt, but no other items.
Also, he dude is kind and open and honest and stuff, and lacks any sort of attitude at all, if that helps with facial expressions. I think that's enough.

Though it is a very nice first attempt, one thing you need to work on is keeping the thickness of the lines consistent. Except for minor details (like the checkered pattern on the shirt), all of the lines should have the same thickness.

I'm assuming you used InkScape to make this? If you press Ctrl+Shift+F, it should bring up the Fill and Stroke menu. The third tab is labeled "Stroke Style". You can change the width of the lines there.

MORE ART FROM ME!!!

As some of you very well know, I drew a red haired girl with celestial ancestry a while back. Unfortunately, it became muddled after that and my mind spiraled into insanity. After putting myself into a coma...twice...over what she would be, I kinda backtracked.

I think I've finally decided what she should be. Ironically, it's the first thing I thought up for her, before...I went a little crazy with the backstory. Just a knight, who like nearly every woman in her family before her took up the sword to fight for good. Went through training from hell via her mother and has a father that is a seven foot tall, hairy bear of a man who is in fact a scholar (a famous one at that, one Ross has been eagerly trying to find) and loves sweets.

Yeah...anyway here's the armor design I went with for her.

Actually for a lot of people, drawing bald heads (or heads with proportionally less hair) is harder. You have to be a lot more decisive in your drawing of the skull, neck and jaw bones that if you would have had hair to cover up potentially problematic spots.

Same kinda' theory behind characters who wear lots of baggy clothes, versus tight clothes/less clothes versus no clothes (cough-Keiros-cough). In a lot of respects is harder to draw an anatomically acceptable human form than just draw a rough outline and slap a dress/tunic/cloak on it that covers up any mistakes you could have made.

I suppose that's true. There's a lot of dents and bumps on the head people sometimes forget about when drawing it. Then again, it also depends on what kind of hair style you’re giving him/her, or how detailed your art style is.

A little announcement. all of you with requests. They're going to be delayed cause I'm gonna be busy with a personal art project.

What is the project you ask? Well, I'm glad you asked.

Recently I sat down and asked myself, "How many female characters do I have?". The exact number is thirteen. Then I began to wonder which girls did you, the lurkers, like the most. Now I've done something like this before but it was small scale and half the girls I have now didn't exist back then.

So, I'm making another poll. This time in a separate thread with the poll mechanism this thread boasts. The girls will be featured with all new drawings...in swimsuits.

Only problem is...I haven't drawn any of 'em yet. So thirteen drawings plus a few chibi comic's of the guys giving commentary on the situation. So you will hopefully understand if I'm not gonna have as much as I would like for requests.

As for the explanation, well, it was a D&D session at gencon. We needed horses to pull a bunch of carts, but didn't want to spend the time to go back to town and possibly sell some of our gear to buy horses. So instead, we logged onto MSN and Lord Fizzlestomp, seen in front, our party cleric under the name of the Holy Lamp, used his incredibly high rolls to offer up a request to Destro Yursol, bringer of trout. Destro, in all his goodness, granted the request and bequeathed unto us flying trout of unusual proportions, that they might pull our wagons mightily. My character was Lord Fizzlestomp's travel companion, Fumbles. At some point in his training, he was told that the best defense is a strong offense. He took this to mean that the best defense, a good shield, would make an excellent offensive weapon. Thus he duel wielded spiked steel shields. Pictured here is the two of them riding boldly into battle upon the back of one of their mighty flying fish. ^_^

Alright. Take a bear-trap. Make it the size of an elephant, and have it fly around at high speed. Then give it an ionized flamethrower on one arm, and a Gatling Grenade launcher on the other. Times the result by eleventy. It will still be not as awesome as this picture! o_O

What color is Eli's hair, exactly? By the way you shade it, it looks like it's supposed to be some shade of brown, though I always imagined her with reddish hair.

Anyway, I'm gonna use the "Busy Weekend" excuse cause it was.

Plus, I've been busy drawing this guy cause he will not leave my head. He's a dragon who was reincarnated into a human form by another dragon after he lost a battle. Now faced with the mortality of a human when before he had millennium, he journeys the world in search of the dragon using the fragmented memories he had during his time a dragon in hopes of returning to his true form. He's the Big Guy at the height of 6' 5, wields a GIANT sword he only uses for dragons and is very much the stoic and quiet person (the fact that he was raised as a human until thirteen when he remembered his past and that point decided to severe all links with his human life, a move that surprisingly hurt him very much, motivates him not to make an real connections). When not using his sword to carve up dragons, he fights with his fists, fists that can punch holes through armor.

His name is Damien.

Character Redesign:

When i first thought up Cassidy, she was a Frankenstein's Monster-like zombie girl. Her hair was inspired by the bride of Frankenstein. Now that she's moved back to the land of the living, I figured it was time for a change and I went a little punk.

I was kind of hoping for some more of the bike, but I wasn't sure how that would end up since most of your stuff is primarily human(ish) rather then other types of objects. I also wasn't sure how the Ork would come out since they don't really lend themselves to your style. A bit more armor would probably have helped him, everything looks more orky with big spikes.
