[Baeleck]

Lycande beams back, a twinkle in her eyes. She then turns her attention more towards K9, and gives a sniff through her nose.

Heh. You're a funny one, aren't you?

Feniar looks over at Cathrine and eyes her a little suspiciously.

[Exachix]

Karaki blinks.

"No, not really."

*Nods to Lycande*

Do you mean you came to this tavern for food and drink? Cause that would be understandable. But I was refering to this place as a whole

Lycande nods back at the goblin, but she still says nothing. She has grown used to fighting others of his race nearly every day, and so is a little wary of him.

Catherine tilts her head as she considers the hawk, deciding it is most likely a familiar. She gives Feniar a nod.

Karaki smiles.

"I came here because my mum and dad came here."

[Baeleck]

The hawk tilts his head a bit and pauses for a moment, before giving a friendly smile. He ruffles is feathers randomly.

[Who]

Ah makes more sense I suppose. I find that some people haven't come here by choice.

[AmberVael]

Catherine sips her drink and then sighs, looking down at it.

[Exachix]

Karaki nodds and looks around, before sipping his drink.

[Baeleck]

Lycande finishes off her drink. Feniar notices Cathrine sigh, and so flies over to her.

Is there something wrong?

[Exachix]

Karaki notices Lycande finish, and smiles. "Do you want another drink?"

Catherine gives a small nod.
I've just had... a sort of falling out with some friends of mine.

I'm fine Karaki. I'm not that thirsty, thanks.

Feniar looks a little sympathetic, but then puffs out his chest.

I'm sorry to hear that... but I suppose that type of thing happens evey now and again.

Karaki smiles.

"Ok then."

Kio appears in the tavern and sits down at the bar. She looks around, trying to remember just how long it's been since she was in here last A double whiskey, please. she says to Cosmo

Catherine nods, but isn't very comforted.

[Nevrmore]

Adder enters the tavern, his hands tucked deep within his pockets. He looks around for Aesa.

[Baeleck]

Lycande smiles a bit to Karaki, and then glances over at the new arrival. Feniar tilts his head a bit more, and then gives a sigh. He isn't too good at making people feel better.

[Deadly]

Kio sips her drink and looks around, trying to spot anyone she recognises

[Exachix]

Karaki smiles back and looks around.

[AmberVael]

Aesa isn't in the tavern. Nor is one of her illusions.
Since the portal to her plane is nearby Trog's, however, he might have noticed that on his way here.

Catherine finishes her drink and pushes the tankard away.

[Nevrmore]

"This is the worst fjording timing in the world." Adder says, grimacing.

[Baeleck]

Lycande peers over at Feniar for a moment. She then looks nowhere in particular, her expression a little dreamy.

[Who]

*Takes out polish and begins polishing K9*

[Exachix]

Karaki looks at Lycande and sips the remnants of his drink, not wishing to disturb her.

[AmberVael]

Catherine looks down at herself, no longer sure how she should feel about her new form.

[Baeleck]

Feniar swoops over to Karaki and Lycande, right over the top of Kio and then Who. Lycande gives a small shake of her head and looks at him as he lands.

Yes?

[Nevrmore]

((Which reminds me, I wanted to ask how Catherine turned into a devil lady..))

Adder grits his teeth, feeling the need for some sweet relief. He goes to draw his sword, but remembers that the damned police bracelet won't allow him to. He begins grinding his canines into powder.

Karaki smiles to Feniar.

Kio looks up at the sudden movement above her and smiles, then returns to her drink

Feniar ruffles his feathers as he lands.

Oh, nothing, Lycande. Just thought I'd come back over here.

Oh, ok Fen.

She offers an arm and he hops onto it. She shifts over a bit closer to Karaki as he hops onto her shoulder. They then get caught in dead time.

Catherine sighs and puts her head in her hands.

Adder's eyes slowly set upon Catherine. He smiles a litt before walking over to her.

"Hello there." He says, trying to sound pleasant.

Karaki smiles as she does, and gets caught in Dead time too.

Catherine glances up at Adder. She mentally grimaces.
Well I'll sure have fun attracting this type... She thinks.

((Hey, just because he cut big extensions through his mouth and has two probably self-inflicted wounds running across his face doesn't mean he's a bad gu-oh wait...))

Adder sits, uninvited as he usually does, at Catherine's table across from her.

"Why so forlorn?"

((Hey man, everyone stereotypes, whether they admit it or not))

Its nothing really. The last few days just haven't been too pleasant- but I'm sure it will get better.

[Nevrmore]

"I agree, the last few days have been a life in hell for me, too."

[AmberVael]

Catherine snickers at his words, wondering if he realized just how literal they were for her.

[Nevrmore]

"So, tell me...Do you think you could help me out?"

Kio finishes her drink and stands up, paying Cosmo before walking through the mirror to Inari's

[AmberVael]

Maybe. It depends on what kind of help you need.
Catherine sits up slowly, her tail twitching. She wasn't quite sure how she wanted to handle this.

[Nevrmore]

"Well, you see...I have a very special way of helping myself relieve stress...But thanks to this damn thing," Adder holds up the arm with the police bracelet attached, "I can't do it, and I feel like I'm going to explode, you know?"

[Timberwolf]

The Alexander girls awaken and order DFB's.

[AmberVael]

I'm afraid I don't understand. Mostly because I have no idea what the hell that bracelet is.

[Nevrmore]

"This thing alerts the police if I try to harm anyone, including myself, you see..."

[AmberVael]

Catherine wrinkles her nose at him.
Why would I want to do something like that?

[Nevrmore]

((If you can't drop a hint, drop a bomb.))

"You're a devil lady, right? Don't you like doing crap like this?"

[Timberwolf]

The Alexanders grimace to themselves at Adder's smooth chat up lines.

[AmberVael]

Catherine snarls and her hand flicks out as if she were going to grab him by the throat, but stops before she does. Her MAGE system, however, continues the motion.

[Nevrmore]

Adder smiles as he feels his esophagus constricting.

"Hey now, that's more like it." He says, grinning.

[AmberVael]

Catherine uses the system to press so tightly that breathing might not just be hard, but impossible.
Shut the hell up, you masochistic freak.

[Nevrmore]

Adder can only give her a twisted grin. Saliva begins draining out of his mouth and his eyes begin rolling backwards the longer she strangles him.

Catherine quite obviously doesn't intend to stop until he is dead.

[Timberwolf]

The girls look at each other.

"He's undoubtably twisted but we can't really have this."

They stand up and walk over to Catherine.

"'Scuse me miss...."

[AmberVael]

Catherine doesn't appear to hear Snowraven at all. She is quite focused on killing Adder.

[Timberwolf]

The girls look at each other again.

"Ah the hell with it."

Nightstar tries to punch Catherine right in the face

((She's had all her muscles replaced with some quite pokey stuff so she hits hard))

"Satisfying as it might be, can't you see you're helping him act out his fantasies ?"

Snowraven prepares to back her up.

[AmberVael]

A flurry of instinctive training flies through Catherine's mind as she gets punched right out of her chair, and she rolls up to her feet.
The force holding Adder suddenly vanishes, and there is an odd, almost mechanical hum. Nightstar can almost feel the air shift.

[Nevrmore]

Adder falls back into his chair, breathing heavily.

"That was great...I'm usually a cutting/whipping guy myself, but that definitely has its merits."

[Timberwolf]

Snowraven aims a pistol at Catherine and another at Adder

Nightstar pulls some shadows around her for protection.

"That's quite enough. You, the one with the cuts. Fun this may be for you but do you really want to die ? You with the magic, you should know better than to use it like that, when you're angry like that."

[AmberVael]

Catherine clenches her fist, and the illusion around her flickers. There is a strange, mechanical glove on her hand, and some rather odd, flexible arm and shoulder armor is on her left side. A small wire protrudes from the shoulder armor and ends in an device that hangs on her ear and extends a small red lens over her eye, rather like half of a pair of glasses.
I have to remove him.

[Obsidian Blade]

Sia walks in, staring at the fight. Deciding to stay as far away from it as possible, she sits warily in the corner.

[Nevrmore]

"Hey, don't level that thing at me. I can't even fight back." Adder says to Snowraven.

[Timberwolf]

"Oh no you don't. So he propositioned you for something you don't like. So what ? By the way, if you're thinking that I won't shoot you down where you stand if you move before you've calmed down, you're sorely mistaken. My sister's the one with the bleeding heart when it comes to this sort of thing. Now stand down."

She looks at Adder. "Shut up, right now. The grown ups are talking."


Nightstars voice comes from the protective cloak of shadow.

"I'd listen to her if I were you. Seriously. There's been a lot of people who haven't who are very, very dead right now. Some of them she didn't even get paid for. Please, stay still, calm down. Heck, I'll buy everyone a drink if that's what it'll take to get everyone thinking clearly and that's not an offer that comes out every day."

[Nevrmore]

"Hey, I think I like that gun-toting chick." Adder says, showing naught a hint of fear from the devil-woman who is sorely intent on killing him.

[AmberVael]

Shut up!
Catherine points her ungloved hand at Adder and casts Silence at him.
She barely seems to register Snowraven and Nightstar's words.

[Timberwolf]

"I'm going to let that pass because I'd have done that if I wasn't holding a gun with each hand. Now, are we chilled yet or do we need to stand here a bit longer ?"

"If I need to girlie, I will kick you into next week. Now, puttng that kit away would be a very good idea."

[AmberVael]

Catherine finally looks at Snowraven and Nightstar, trying to decide how much of a threat they are.
And what they want. She really hasn't been much attention to them.

[Timberwolf]

"Now you're paying attention, for the 3rd and last time, stand down."

[Nevrmore]

Adder mouths "You little bitch" at Catherine upon realizing he has been robbed of his voice.

[AmberVael]

Very luckily for Adder, Catherine isn't looking at him.
Why are you stopping me?

[Timberwolf]

"Because we think you're not thinking clearly. If you're going to kill someone, do it for the right reasons. Not because he's a sexual lunatic who can't sort himself out. Anyway, all he's done is proposition you. All you need if that happens again is punch them one and they'll go away. Anyway, despite that tail, you look like a decent person. I don't think murder's your style. Fact remains, we're not going to let you kill him."

[Nevrmore]

[Timberwolf]

((I was speaking in general terms. Adders a special case. Perhaps tickling him would be better.))

He was a psychological threat to a MAGE user and endangered the lives of those in the building because of that. Removing him permanently will ensure it doesn't happen again.
Catherine sounds like she is quoting something but also seems a bit confused, like she is defending her actions but is not entirely sure why she did it.

[Nevrmore]

"It's not my fault being called a devil lady touches your nerves." Adder says, the Silence spell fading.

[AmberVael]

[Timberwolf]

Do you really think he was a danger to you or is that something else speaking ? Whatever was speaking there, be it something to do with that gagetry or the rulebook for it that you were quoting, I'll tell you now, is more like general guidelines and not to be rigidly applied to everything or you'll be burning down everything that annoys you."

"I'll tell you this, he was no threat to you, psychological or otherwise and never will be unless you let him."

Catherine moves to the far side of the bar.

Nathaniel comes out of dead time. "I'll never get used to that..." He yawns and stretches his arms.

Catherine glares over at the sisters and the mechanical hum ceases suddenly.

[Nevrmore]

"That made my day...Would have been better if that chick with the gun shot someone or something." Adder says, sitting down.

[Timberwolf]

"Right, is this over now ? I always feel an idiot pointing 2 guns at different people."

She looks at Adder.

"That can still be arranged. Keep quiet until we're sure this is all over."

[Dartonus]

Mevlos kicks the door open and stomps to the bar.

Sia watches from the corner.
There are a lot of Delgathi here. She sends through the amulet to the Co-Ordinater.

Nathaniel stands and exits the tavern.

You can aim your primative weaponry away from me. It won't do anything anyways.
Catherine is contemptous and a fair bit angry still.

[Timberwolf]

"Oh I don't know about that. You don't know what we load it up with. Anyway, If we're all calm now, we have some drinks that need attention."

Nightstar grins inside the shadow as her hands find the hilts of her swords.

Catherine crosses her arms on the bartop and puts her head on them, her anger fully expended.

[Nevrmore]

Adder, seeing that the fun is over, lights up a cigarette and begins puffing away at it, having no concern over the aggravation if causes others.

[Timberwolf]

The girls return to their drinks but keep half an eye on Adder and Catherine. They give in to something they haven't done in a while and order up a couple of Panatella cigars.

[Nevrmore]

Adder sighs, twirling his sheathed short-sword around in his hand. He wished he could unsheathe it.

[AmberVael]

Catherine desperately wants to go to the OmniShop and talk to the Gent, but after what happened yesterday she isn't sure that is a good idea.

[Timberwolf]

The girls order up refills and contentedly sit back in their bar stools.

[Nevrmore]

Adder finishes his cigarette, puts it out on the table, and walks out of the tavern, sliding his sword between his belt.

[AmberVael]

Catherine's expression has gone from unreasonable and insane to a bit depressed. She sighs and tilts her head, letting her red hair settle off on one side.

[Timberwolf]

The girls look at Catherine and then at each other. They decide to wait and see what happens.

[AmberVael]

Catherine doesn't do anything.

[Timberwolf]

The girls resolve to see if tears start before they do anything beyond sip at their drinks.

[AmberVael]

No tears. Definitely not any happiness though.

Deciding that Catherine is probably ok and not in need of any unpaid social work for now, the girls start discussing their ATV.

Silvia walks into the room, orders a drink, end begins to watch the goings on.

He glances around, shrugs, and starts eating a deli-sandwich.

Catherine remains where she is, head down on the bartop.

Sia turns back to the bar and continues to eat more muffins with enthusiasm.

The girls head over to Leonel.

"Hope your day was better than ours, we've had an upset devil mage thingy person flip out on us."

Sorry to hear that. Mine has been pretty uneventful.

"there was this bizarre masochist fella who upset her and she tried to kill him."

A sound suddenly fills the tavern.

The sound of the Laws of Probability being bludgeoned over the head with a stick.

Regiji pops into existence while the aforementioned laws are busy being brained.

"Would you mind some company Catherine?"

From what I've heard, sounds like normal tavern day.

Catherine smiles a little at Regiji.
I could use some.

"Yeah, I hate having to face people down but she didn't know what she was doing."

Arac, who hasn't been asleep or in deadtime, simply drinking for this entire period, looks around and wanders how oblivious the strong ales have made hi mto the world around for days. Sobering up on lighter ale's and the damned barkeep's advice, he finds his vision slightly less blurred and his understanding of the past day's events almost on par with those of the new arrivals.

Silvia starts to look anoyed at the last question and starts muttering the letter "d"

Leonel smiles at the sisters. Other than that, how are you two?

Catherine sighs and tosses back her hair.

[Timberwolf]

"By all means. A Dragons fire breath would be great."

Leonel nods and buys the girls their drinks, and himself a beer. He slides their drinks over to them as they arrive.

"I think," Regiji begins. "That all of the patronly attitudes stem from your condition when you first arrived. Confused, lost, and not a person with god-like power."

[AmberVael]

I'm still not anything compared to the people here.
Catherine doesn't seem to really care about that too much.

[Timberwolf]

"Thanks. This is welcome. So hows Rafael today ? Still coming up with ridiculously oversized weapons ?"

[Rebonack]

Regiji quirks an eyebrow.

"You certainly don't appear to be confused or lost though."

[Kyrian]

Don't know. Haven't actually talked to him, even though we've both been here at the same time twice now.

Catherine opens her mouth to protest, but decides maybe it wouldn't be a good idea.

"Huh, that's real friendly. So you don't know how he's getting on with Aesa. She's one unpredictable lady."

Knowing Rafe....he's getting on friendly with her...

[Rebonack]

The scout tilts his head to the side slightly.

"Go ahead. I'm not going to be upset about what you have to say."

[AmberVael]

Catherine shakes her head.
Its nothing.

[Timberwolf]

"Meh. So, are you still waiting for your fun to come to you or have you gone out looking ?"

[Rebonack]

Regiji shrugs and orders himself a mug of hot chocolate. This is partially because he can't get drunk and feels that the chocolate tastes better.

"Do you want a drink?"

[Kyrian]

Went out looking a bit. But the fun I'm looking for? Still waiting for that.

[Timberwolf]

"Hmmmm, well, it's good to see there's still patient people left on this planet."

[AmberVael]

Catherine shakes her head, the small horns shifting the hair around them.
The change really hasn't made her look too different. Its just the horns and tail, really. Whereas those are rather... big additions, they are just that- additions. The rest of her looks normal, if a little bit more seductive.

[Kyrian]

Leonel nods. I like to think of myself as a select few when it comes to patience.

[Rebonack]

Regiji sips his drink absently.

"Catherine I... You don't have to answer this is you don't want to but," he hesitates for a moment. "Why did you decide to undergo this change? Was it something you had been considering or..."

[Timberwolf]

"Well, hold on to that thought. Patience is always a useful skill."

She turns to holler an order for peanuts at Cosmo, displaying a huge tattoo of a dragon going up he back.

[Kyrian]

Leonel looks over his sunglasses and smiles as he notes the tattoo. Nice tat.

Lady Fierna offered it. I took her offer. It wasn't planned out ahead of time.
Catherine shrugs.

[Timberwolf]

"Thank you, I rather like it. Stung a bit getting it done though."

Backtracking considerably....Maph'tey's construct doesn't even reach the strands before several slide down to wrap around it and consequently slice it to pieces.

Xeni remains on the ground, it slowly dawning on him that this seems vaguely familiar.

[Rebonack]

"And... she's in charge of the fourth circle of hell, right?" Regiji asks, making sure he has this right.

Maph'tey quirks an eyebrow at the suddenly un-dead timed Xeni.

"Sooo... You look like you're remembering something."

"Thanks, i think it sets off the hair. Got it done on a planet called Luthien. Little souvenir of a job I did there."

Catherine nods.

[Kyrian]

A fun job? Leonel smiles and listens.

"And that's the layer where they punish people for sins of fornication and stuff?" he continues.

An old man with a pseudodragon, two Handy Haversacks, and a young half-elf walk into Trog's, looking around. The man sits at a table, and the pseudodragon flutters onto it. The girl cautiously sits across from the man, looking a bit overwhelmed.

"It's okay, these people are mostly friendly," he says to her, while watching out of the corner of his eye a couple of NPC's about ready to get into a bar fight.

[AmberVael]

Catherine slowly nods, not really liking where this is going.

[Timberwolf]

"Not really, an extremely messy and unpleasant one to perform but ultimately satisfying in it's conclusion." remembering Kali and Romano Liao running from her and Snowraven. "A pair of extremely unpleasant individuals got their comeuppance."

[Chaotic Bob]

Xeni frowns and watches the strands, noting that they are slowly descending again.
Just a nasty feeling.

[Obsidian Blade]

Sia listens to the different conversations from the bar and finishes her muffins. She looks around at the other patrons and traces the wood grain on the bar with her finger.

[Rebonack]

Regiji sighs, knowing that he's about to take the plunge. He doesn't want to drive Catherine away, but he wants her to think about, to honestly consider what she did and why she did it.

"Do you think it's possible she sedu-"

Due to the fact this is a serious moment and Regiji was mostly introduced into the Town as a source of humor the Probe suddenly darts into the tavern and begins to bounce erratically around Regiji's head.

"Hey Regiji! You'll never guess what I found!"

[Blood]

All three of them order waters from Cosmo, the man pulling out some silver coins and paying for the drinks. He looks around at everyone there, and says loudly and clearly,

"Does anyone here know anyone who can build a place to live?"

Catherine is amazed that she is glad to see the probe.
Even more amazed at what she is about to say.

Sia seems more interested in the silver coins the old man handed over then his words, but answers him. There's a shop up the street that sells everything, jelrid. The OniShop, or something like that.

The man looks over at Sia with a raised eyebrow. "'Everything'? What exactly does that mean? And who is Jelrid?"

Regiji sighs, shaking his fist at his player.

"I found a circus!!" the Probe responds breathlessly. "It's going to open tomorrow!!"

Sia shrugs. Like I said, they sell everything you can think of. I don't know very much about it, exept not to steal from there. The man who ran the place just knew when I tried to sneak out the door. And 'jelrid' means stranger.

[Blood]

"Interesting ... with the support of magic, one can store so much merchandise, to be able to sell absolutely anything ... but I wonder, do they sell houses?" He runs the word "jelrid" through his mind. "I am familiar with all local languages, and don't seem to know that word. Could you enlighten me on its source?"

Catherine finds herself even more surprised.
The probe found something interesting.

Sia leans against the bar. It's not local. It's a variant of Thieve's Cant, used in the city I come from.

"I see. Could you tell me-"

He is interrupted by the pseudodragon clearing its throat loudly, and then growling in a low tone.

"Right, the OniShop. Thank you, Bannel." He nods to the pseudodragon, then turns to Sia. "Thank you for your help." He gathers his things and ushers the half-elf out the door, Bannel perched once again on his shoulder.

"I really did!" it enthuses. "There was all sorts of stuff there!!" it then begins to describe everything it saw at the circus, which mostly includes things one would expect to find at such a place.

However, it also begins to mention high-tech military weapons and hardware.

"Wait... there was a armed drop-ship?"

"Yeah! They attacked the circus! It was exciting!"

Catherine frowns.

[Timberwolf]

The sister's ears prick up at the word "drop ship". There are some unpleasant people who would like a word with them who use drop ships.

Sia watches them go, then turns back to the bar, sending another message.
I don't think I should be the one this project is assigned too.
The response takes a few minutes in coming.
Are you questioning me, harshe? It would not be wise.
She winces and sighs. Never mind. I'll stay focused.

Sia slips out of the tavern.

The Probe begins to describe the situation when Regiji is suddenly engulfed in Dead Time.

The almost invisible strands near the rafters once more begin to assume positions around the various people of the tavern. Up until the point where Xeni bolts out the door anyway. At that point much of them vanish, except two which stay behind and begin to surround Maph'tey.

Catherine sighs and teleports back to Tinderhall's realm.

Leonel wakes up from Dead Time.

Aharon grins broadly, seemingly taking no notice of Evandar's strange voice. Turning to them both he asks: If you have been here long I would assume you know your way around and have gotten a feel for the place. I need paying work, so I can eat food like this everyday and maybe afford a place of my own. One that isn't also serving as a stable would be preferable. Aharon cracks up, laughing uproariously at his own joke.

The sisters wake up too.

"So have you got any interesting art Leonel ?"

Eye catching? Leonel raises an eyebrow and gives an amused smile as he takes a guess at her meaning.

"Well if you're going to get a purple dragon done, you might as well make it as big as possible. I'm not going to show you how far the tail goes though."

[Kyrian]

Heh...this waiting seems to prove that the end result will be completely worth it... Leonel grins.

[Timberwolf]

"She's absurdly proud of that dragon." Snowraven sniffs.

"Well, the amount of time it took, I think I'm entitled. Besides, you've only got a wussy shoulder piece."

[Kyrian]

"Oh no, not you, I meant Snowraven. She got hers done at the same time but she didn't want a dragon. She went for our old unit crest, it's on her shoulder."

Leonel laughs at the two, and smiles at Nightstar. Well, I for one like your tattoo, from what I've seen of it.

"Thanks, most people either love it or hate it. I'm quite glad my mothers not here to see it. I can't remember much of her but I don't think she would approve."

[Kyrian]

But isn't that the universal role of a mother? To dislike, disagree, and hate everything the child likes?

[Timberwolf]

The girls look distant for a moment

"We're not sure."

[Kyrian]

Sorry, I didn't mean to say something upsetting...

"It's not upsetting about that, she died when I was about 2 and SNowraven was 4. Our father was long gone, no one knows where. After that, well, I believe you're slightly familiar with our early lives ?"

Leonel nods, having a better memory than his player. I remember the story from the other night.

"Well, anyway, we've moved on now and we are who we are for better or worse. I take it your mother does not approve of yours ?"

[Therarde]

Therarde finishes his drink and heads outside.

[Kyrian]

From the little I remember of her, she never saw me as a warrior. She'd hate it.

[Timberwolf]

"Looks perfectly inoffensive to me. Anyway leonel, our player is having trouble focusing those eyes again. We'll catch you later."

[Kyrian]

You two take care. I eagerly await our next time together. He smiles.
