Imperial Warlords
Act I: The Battle of Mustafar
http://cdn-static.denofgeek.com/sites/denofgeek/files/styles/insert_main_wide_image/public/wars-4.jpg

From the cockpit of the Prismatic Fiasco—an old YT-1300 freighter picketing from Mustafar's leading Trojan point—the planet looks like a beautiful ruby, shimmering with occasional volcanic eruptions and glinting with the stately traffic of ships from the main spaceport and the huge ball of scaffolding that is the military port.

That peace is shattered as the collision alarms start screaming as the huge, angular bulk of a Star Destroyer drops into view, barely 50 yards away from the ship. As the massive ship shoves past, the small freighter is caught by the wash from its ion engines and slammed into a violent spin, flipping end over end like a coin. The star destroyer continues on, straight like an arrow towards the military port, followed immediately by four black shuttles in sleek echelon.

Moff Vesa, from the observation control deck, feels no such panic. The control deck is quiet, with only the efficient whispers of the analysts and liaison officers in the gallery below as they start to develop the situation. She smirks a bit as she thinks of the contrast with the panic that must be enveloping the small formation of ships outside the military station ahead.

Jen Arard is standing just ahead and below Moff Vesa, in the control deck commander's station. The holo displays of squadron status and fleet systems start popping up around him as the various stations report, and he is pleased by the number of green status markers. In the center of his displays the urgent, beeping, green launch request from the 7th SPECNAV forces in bays 1 and 2 taunts him.

Rol Kru has less calm. He sits in the back of the cockpit of the lead insertion craft - a highly modified Theta shuttle, bristling with countermeasures, electronic warfare systems, and more than a few weapons. The two pilots ahead of him somehow seemed like they are crouched to start sprinting. His shuttle is flying in echelon, snugged up tight immediately behind the huge control tower of the Panthac, screened from sensors on the station or ground by the bulk of the star destroyer and the sensor noise of the massive ion engines.

Dekki fidgets around in the medical station near the main troop launching bay, watching as the various stormtrooper battalions stage into assembly areas and get their gear ready into the nearby lambdas.

And deep, down in the center of the ship, in the dark, heavily armored command deck, Admiral Halcoor waits. Moments after reentry the room is illuminated by the tactical map projected against the forward bulkhead. Icons and arrows start showing up as the command staff furiously works to assimilate the information. Lieutenant Commander Allesia Kano—the deck watch commander—reports: "Ma'am, reentry is successful and we are oriented directly towards the objective at full speed. We seem to have reverted near a picket craft, and the rear tractor and laser batteries are both requesting permission to engage."

Map is at the above link. Anyone know an easy place to post these images?

Orienting the map, from left to right, you'll see a small YT-1300, then the Panthac, then other YT-1300s above and below it. As you move further right, you'll see a formation of 3x CR90 corvettes and 6x medium transports, a small star yacht, then the station, then a Nebulon-B tethered to the station. After you pass Mustafar, you'll see the civilian station.

The space stations will move towards you at 1 square per turn due to orbital velocity.

Jen glances over the ready indicators, nodding in faint approval as he does so. "Commander, all squadrons confirm ready. SPECNAV confirms ready. Deploying fighter screen." Jen nods to the various staff officers to send the agreed upon deployment orders. There was no need to clog channels with encouragement and chatter at this point. Let the commander focus on getting the best initial salvo possible.

Going above and beyond on this one. Fighters, I assume can deploy without me spending my own actions, so taking 2 swift actions to activate Impel Ally 2 (granting an immediate Move or Standard action to Veesha, followed by using my standard action for Trust, granting her another Standard Action.

"Dorsal batteries to engage track zero-zoro-three-six," Veesha said, using the designator for the lone visible frigate. With no time to ponder the whereabouts of its two sisters, she continued rapid fire. "Port batteries engage track zero-zero-four-two, starboard batteries engage track zero-zero-four-zero. Ion cannon to engage track zero-zero-three-niner. Fire pattern delta 8." The guns already trained forward, the Panthac swiftly bloomed a scintillating display of reds, greens, and blues.

Hereee goes. *Crack knuckles*

Damage will be rolled in OOC and edited in.

The Nebulon-B will be targeted by one heavy and two regular turbolaser batteries. I'd also like BP to shoot this one.

[roll0] 345 damage, HP 375, SR 95, -1 CT
[roll1] 520 damage, FRIGATE IS KILL
[roll2] 130 damage, still dead.

The top-most corvette will be attacked by two heavy and one regular turbolaser batteries.
Ref 12 (flat-footed)
[roll3] 325 damage, HP 475, SR 95, -1 CT
[roll4] 460 damage, HP 15, SR 90, -2 CT

[roll6] 360 damage, HP 440, SR 95, -1 CT
[roll7] Missed!
[roll8] 255 damage, HP 185, SR 90, -2 CT

The ion cannons batteries will target the upper-left transport. Reflex 14, because the transports have better armor than the warships. Screwy, ain't it?

Dekki for his part remained within the familiarity of the main med bay. He did his best to drown out the knowledge that battle had happened, mumbling in his native tongue about the damn battle that was going to happen. A deep sigh emerged as the ship left hyperspace and then the brief rock as he knew battle had officially started. Hopefully the damage would be minimal, at least to their side, and he would remain bored until the whole chest pounding was done with and he could get to work mending everyone involved.

Moff Vesa

It had taken months to arrive at this point. Months of patience politicking, engineering and maneuvering to finally see the first stepping stone towards something greater suspended before her in space like a ripe, tropical fruit. Dotted about this orbs dimensions was the military presence of the rebel cell she knew would be here - and who's destruction she planned to capitalise upon as a message to those in this quadrant of the galaxy: a new power was here to protect you against the ocean of chaos beating against the shores of civilisation.

Pacing to the other side of the deck, hands behind her back, Vesa watched silently as fighters were deployed and her ships brought themselves up into formation. Already she could feel the panic of the rebellion forces ripple across the force - an anxiety the likes of which could only be tasted in the primal terror of animals sensing the arrival of a vicious predator.

Smiling and waiting, Vesa watched and opened her senses to the ebb and flow of the Force...

It was several quiet seconds from the Panthac's reversion into Mustafar space until it lit up with waves of fire towards the small fleet mustering outside of the civilian station. Waves of accurate fire lanced out, raking across the various ships around the station. Simultaneously, fighter groups started streaming out of the port and starboard bays.

The Nebulon-B docked for repairs was cut in half by a battery of shots directly across the central spine. A secondary battery blasted across the aft engine section, and a third the command section. As the ship buckled and crumpled, it rips large parts of the repair gantries of the station free. By the time the engine section exploded, it had already torn free, trailing fuel and electrical lines from the berthing point.

Other batteries summarily destroyed one of the corvettes escorting the transport group; a third set of batteries crippled another frigate. Ion bolts liberally peppered the transport formation, leaving one disabled and sparking as the others start to scatter. Almost as an afterthought, the chase battery fired a few bolts that destroyed the out-of-control transport behind the Panthac, and a tractor beam crew reached out and snagged another.

Under the waves of fire and untold devastation, and the advancing stream of fighters, a casual observer could easily miss the four Theta shuttles that rocketed into a steep dive towards the planet surface, diving straight into a huge volcanic ash cloud to avoid orbital detection.

The rebel reaction is slow, surprised. As the beams cut through them, the transports broke in multiple directions, scattering. Each of them immediately started pinging a distress beacon. The two remaining cruisers turned and advanced on the Panthac, possibly trying to buy time. Their fire is largely ineffective, glancing off the shields - one lucky bolt penetrates, and creates a burned spot on the port forward glacis. A pathetic fighter contingent - a couple X-wings and bombers - deploys from the station; but too little, too late. The only fast reaction is one of the picket ships, which immediately jumps to hyperspace.

Moff Vesa, Admiral Halcoor, Commander Arard

An imperial warship in combat remains quiet - the bridge crews whisper efficiently, to prevent the bridges becoming loud and confused. You watch as the situation maps update with rebel casualties and friendly dispositions. On the screens, the dying ships are slowly surrounding by an expanding cloud of tiny yellow icons as the crew begin evacuating and activating their rescue beacons.

The friendly icons remain steady. Knife squadron requests priorities of targets on a routine message; the SPECNAV beacon flickers and turns grey, as their shuttles revert to radio silence. The remaining fighter squadrons all report ready, and the legion landing craft and lambdas report that they are prepared to load on order.

Inquisitor KruThe SPECNAV pilots, unlike the regular imperials, are enthusiastic. The two in front of you whoop with glee as the slam their shuttles into a near vertical dive, accelerating at maximum thrust, to the planet surface. As you race towards the enormous ash cloud blotting out the sky, they pull back hard and level the shuttles as they dive in. The air in the ash cloud is incredibly rough, and you're buffeted like a kite. The shuttles switch course twice as move in, to confuse potential air defense.

As you dive, you hear one of the pilots address you on the intercom. "Sir, all is well. We will reach the groundside settlement in seven minutes."

Dekki

You have very little information from the main medical bay. You hear the thump of the firing, and the general hum as the ships generators start revving up, but little else. The mood among the assembled stormtroopers in the vast bay in front of you is almost bored - they are sitting in neat little lines behind their shuttles, or in small groups waiting to load into the landing craft.
1st Turn Map is here! - https://ibb.co/fG0mxF

Ignore the thingy on the lower left, that is my Roll20 Avatar. From left to right, first you have the Panthac, then the two 6x vehicle TIE Interceptor groups. Then you have the damaged CR90, the 6x X-Wing group, 4x B-Wing group, and undamaged CR90, and then the rapidly scattering freighters.

Finally, on the far right, you have the A-Wings around the civilian station.

Four symbols on the tactical display dimmed in a gruesome understatement of the firepower of an Imperial-II star destroyer. Somewhere upwards of 1500 lives ended in the blink of an eye. Veesha's only reaction was to assign new targets.

"Main battery finish off those corvettes. Secondary battery use dispersion pattern kappa to wear down the freighters's shields."

Rol could hear the background roar of the engines as his transport rocketed towards the planet. He had been a part of many raids in his service the empire but this felt different, well this is different he thinks to himself. Prelude to rebellion, who would have seen it coming.

With the Emperor dead and leadership in disarray Rol had turned to the force to guide his hand and it had led him to Moff Veesha's side. For good or ill he was where the force willed him to be.

Rol could feel the excitement in the air as the soldiers of the 7th readied themselves for what was to come next. Excited, some elated even at the opportunity and even the most level headed of them was happy like a race horse at the gate ready to ride.

Rol opens the comlink to the 7th's commander and in a calm level voice checks in.

"Your troops are excited Commander Kano. Has it been a while since your last drop?"

"Your troops are excited Commander Kano. Has it been a while since your last drop?"

A laconic voice hits back on the private channel. "Yup. Too frigging long, m'lord. The SD was on outer rim duty when Endor kicked off. Nothing to do but board freighters and kick xenos around. Finally gonna make an example of some rebel traitor swine."

"You got the brief on our plan? We're gonna swoop in hard. This crew - Alpha - is going straight for the government building. Beta is taking the hotel. Gamma is going to block reinforcements from the police barracks. Delta is the reserve. Hit the buildings, grab the leaders, take the ones we want and run."

With one arm behind her back and another close to her front as she clasped a glass of brandy, Vesa cooly observed the unfolding one-sided engagement before her. It wasn't enough that she could spot the flaming debris of former starships and imagine that such vessels were once piloted by living breathing beings - she could feelit. As thousands died and joined the river of the Force, the Dark Jedi Master could enmesh her senses with the current and taste the transition from the material to the spirit.

Finishing off the last of her brandy, Vesa turned about on the heel of her armored boot.

"Ensure that my transport is ready," she commented quietly to the waiting ensign as she departed the bridge for the hanger bay.

Dekki made it a point to avoid any indication of how many people just died as the ship rocks gently from the shields taking the hit. Instead the doctor moved to his terminal and pulled up the appropriate screen, tapping a few buttons here and there as he did his best to restore some of the lost shields before any of the crew could be injured from the fight. At the same time he alerted the bays closest to the shield generators in case there was any backlash and the injured started to show up.

Indeed I have been breifed. Hard, fast and precise. I'm expected great things from your troops Kano. I have a feeling the 7th will have a number of opportunities in the coming months as we enlighten them once more who rules this galaxy.

But remember commander we are here to save these people from themselves. They have been led from the truth and it is our duty to remind them were thier loyalty should really lie. We are the stern hand of the empire calling back it's people.

I'd like there to be a little be of double talk going on during this exchange that doesn't really come across in PbP. Rol is putting subtle emphasis on certain words and phrases. Very very sublte.

I'm trying to lay the ground work for turning them over to our side overtly in the future and this is kinda the probing phase. I'm sure we'll have several chances later.

"Squadron leaders, continue to deploy. Knife Squadron: all wings engage the X-Wings near that station from extreme range. Hold for reinforcements." This was counter to normal doctrine, but for the time being, pilots and fighters were not an expendable resource, so extra caution was required.

Moving Knife 1 and 2 to the extreme outer end of Long Range (10 squares away as per the space range of Laser Cannons). Firing 2 Narrow Salvo's. Deploying another squadron of interceptors.

The steady drumbeat of fire from the Panthac continues as it accelerates towards the military station. With fewer targets, the heavy cannon batteries blast away the remaining defensive frigates with ease, and the light cannons fire across the bows of the retreating freighters, herding them into the path of the ion batteries. Half of the freighters, now, are floating in space, with sparks coruscating across their hulls.

As the interceptors start to mass into formation, they start firing into the incoming rebels at long range. The rebel fighters return in kind with lasers and proton torpedoes, before pulling into steep turns and starting to retreat. One of the interceptors from knife squadron is clipped by laser fire, which sends it spinning. The pilot ejects quickly, and as his ship crosses the bow of one of its colleagues, a proton torpedo blast consumes them both. The first friendly casualties of the battle for Mustafar.

Almost as an afterthought, the portside tractor turret pulls the disabled picket ship into formation behind the Panthac.

On the situation map, the tide is now decisively in favor of the Panthac - the enemy main ships are burning in space, surrounded by a few lifeboats and a cloud of emergency rescue beacons from the escaped crew's survival suits. The enemy fighters are retreating, the few remaining transports scattering. One of them drops its shields and engines and starts broadcasting a surrender alert. The military station is outgassing fuel and air from one of its crippled struts, but otherwise intact.

Admiral Halcoor - One of the watch lieutenants stands from his station in the gallery below and reports: "Ma'am, we've detected four craft matching the signature of the unidentified rebel fighters!" A tight cluster of four blue dots appears on your situation map. "They are in a cluster of fighters that just departed the base and used a SLAM system to fly towards the civilian station!"

Commander Arard - You hear the reports from the watch floor as the knife squadron liaison reports the loss of Knife-3 and Knife-9. Before you have time to think about it, however, the watch officer turns and reports: "Sir, we have vid on the groundside station and radar. Looks like some are beginning to scatter - we've got moving target indicators running in all directions. I don't think they've spotted the raiding party, however, as some of civilian speeders are moving in their general direction."

Both Halcoor and Arard - A notice appears on your vid screen - a broadcast from the civilian station: "We are neutral and unarmed. We have no part in this conflict and will surrender peacefully. We request permission to send unarmed shuttles to help recover survivors." Just as the civil station calls in, you see another alert - the SPECNAV have reported onto terminal approach. The red dagger appears on the groundside map and splits - aiming straight for the designated targets. Almost immediately after the report, you see a target request pop onto the grid - a radar station in vicinity of the main speeder terminal at the east side of town.

Moff Vesa - You step off the turbolift and see your shuttle prepared in the forward shuttlebay. Your personal security detail stands at attention, and the master-at-arms, Imperial Sergeant Harix, is waiting by the turbolift to escort you to your ship and receive orders. He slams his heel down, salutes, and shouts: "Detail, present ARMS!"

Inquisitor Kru - Most of the approach, aside from your conversation with Captain Kano, is quiet. The SPECNAV are on radio silence during the approach, and something about that makes people irrationally quiet even in their own vehicle.

As the ash cloud starts to thin, you see in the plain below the impossibly huge spire of the space elevator extending into the sky. The theta pilots roll into another steep dive, into a crevasse at ground level and down. They calmly wind their way through the narrow path on the approach to the city. On the intercom in your bird, you hear one of the troopers in the back note to the pilots and commander - "We got a LOB* onto the air traffic control radar, but they wouldn't have seen us through the ash cloud." The pilot responds - "Roger, good hit. We'll jam it when we bump up."

After a few minutes in the gorge, the pilot reports - "moving into terminal approach now. Jammers on." The thetas pull sharply out of the gorge and you see the city below. Just as you identify your target - the large government building near the south-side base of the elevator - Captain Kano hits the radio: "SPECNAV report. Alpha up, target acquired." The other thetas report in, good to go. "Gotta fix on the radar station. Transmitting to higher."

Getting better at this.
https://ibb.co/jUQSz5

Everything as before. Note the new X-wing and K-wing by the civ station.

LOB = Line of bearing. A direction finding radio detector will give you a line of bearing from the detector to the transmitter. Two LOBs give you a "cut"; three or more LOBS give you a "fix", or an actual location of the transmitter (the more LOBs, the more accurate the fix and the lesser the margin of error).

The last of the enemy warships submitted to the star destroyer's firepower. But Veesha's attention was focused on the new fighters zooming across the tactical display, away from the Panthac.

But she kept her annoyance at her prizes escaping artfully masked. "Halcoor to all units, phase 1 complete. Initiate phase 2.

"Batteries Jenth and Krill, watch that yacht. Disable it as soon as it clears moorings. You will keep it under observation until I specifically countermand this order.

"Remaining ion cannons keep disabling the freighters. Turbolasers switch to fire pattern Rho and target the B-wings." Rho was her brainchild, perfected over the last several years of fighting the Rebellion's hit-and-fade tactics with a criminal lack of point defense weapons. Traditional wisdom held turbolasers were useless against fighters. And a single turbolaser was indeed far too slow in train and fire rate to engage snubfighters. But a battery together could fill an entire grid with brilliant energy. After all, unlike with a shielded capital ship, you only had to hit a fighter once.

With her orders issued, she had the call sent to her. "This is the star destroyer Panthac. Your surrender is accepted. But please don't send any unarmed ships into an active combat zone.

"Additionally, you will instruct your security forces to mobilize and place themselves at the disposal of Imperial officers."

"Admiral, we have a potential issue. Groundside rebel forces appear to be scattering, likely to concealed defensive positions. We have their current locations, but due to conditions on the ground we might not be able to manage that for long." Jen calls up the ground-side reports, flagging a few key features and directing them to Halcoor's datapad. "In addition, several civilian speeders are headed towards the SPECNAV landing zone. Reports indicate that they are likely unaware of our presence, but that isn't the main issue."

Arad pauses briefly and signals for fighter deployment to continue, allowing the admiral some time to consider the report herself. "My concern is that SPECNAV will have no direct knowledge of the vector of these civilians, or of their apparent non-military status. They are of course in a war zone, so some measure of collateral can be expected, but we should take steps to minimize possible... altercations. Our options appear to be either a request for all ground side civilians to remain still and hope that they are prepared to overlook past incidents, or we directly compromise operational security. We can of course allow events to proceed, but at best the situation will likely delay our SPECNAV teams, and at worst significantly endanger our operations in the system."

Deploying another squadron. All 4 currently will target the B-Wings and move to maintain long-range. (using the double squad rules you brought up)

Attack Group 1: [roll0] CRITS -2 (forgot the two destroyed fighters)
Attack Group 2: [roll1] -2 (forgot the two destroyed fighters)

Damage Group 1: [roll2]x2x2= 120 (80 damage after shields and DR, shields reduced to 25)
Damage Group 2: [roll3]x2 = 66 (26 damage after shields and DR, shields reduced to 25)

not sure if you want that to count as 1 B-Wing destroyed and another damaged, or 2 B-Wings damaged. It's 2 attacks, which technically means 2 random fighters, but I figure having both hit one target would keep your book keeping easier.

Dekki let out a sad sigh as the first casualties on their side was reported. He took a few seconds to gather the name of the pilot who died and the one who managed to eject, starting a new list so that those who died in battle could have their families notified. At the same time he sent a message, nothing more than a little notification in a somewhat out of the way place, that stated "If you could request it then having the civilians gather our injured will help when we head out." Finally the xeno turned to the gathered stormtroopers and stated somewhat sadly "We have nearly reached control over space. It's best we board and prepare for our part in the liberation." True to his word he rolled over to the first lambda and strapped himself in, telling the pilot to please take him and any stormtroopers that wanted to deal with civilians to the civilian space station once the battle was largely complete. The remaining, and likely majority, would deal with the military station with the stormsurgeons assigned to the squads.

After finishing his comment to Kano Rol puts on his helmet as the command HUD comes online. His helmet much like the rest of his outfit was a stark black minimalist design, however, there was something dark and menacing about it.

As the pilot relays information Rol can feel the engines of the Theta rev and the rush of the impending operation hit Rol. He takes a breath, not so much calming himself but directing him, his passions were starting to rise and they would be useful but as with all forces they needed to be guided and directed as his master had taught. Veesha turned her gaze to her datapad. Panicked civilians, or panicked Rebels? They both ran just as hard.

She thought a moment, then reached her decision. "Divert TIEs to intercept. Let the Rebel fighters escape if you must, but I don't want any of those speeders to have a chance to go to ground." The snubfighters would jump to hyperspace and fly off to become someone else's problem. If a group of Rebels took to the hills, it could take months to root them out.

"Pilots should make visual contact and order the speeders to return to the city airfield. Non-compliant craft are to be splashed." The innocent never run, so the old wisdom held... "Prioritize the ones set to cross paths with our commandos."

Then she turned to the other problem. Pushing a button to forward the fire mission to her weapons officer, she asked, "Weps, target assessment. Can we knock this out within a couple secondary salvos?"

Weapons comes back in a few minutes. "Ma'am, we can destroy the target with a medium salvo, fire for effect six, with moderate risk of collateral damage. From this angle we will likely render the speeder port inoperable and cause significant damage to the speeder port facilities. Also, if any shots diverge there is a moderate risk of them splashing within the settlement. We will reach a low-risk firing solution in 12 minutes. The low risk solution will disable the radar and render the speeder port inoperable, but will only cause moderate damage to the facilities and will minimize the risk of impacts in the settlement."

Basically, if you shoot now you will destroy the radar and damage large parts of the speeder port, and have some risk of significant civilian casualties. If you shoot next turn, you will decrease the risk of civilian casualties to a natural 1.

There's no way to destroy the radar from orbit without cratering the runways/launch pads. A heavy turbolaser battery is not a precision instrument. However, people can fix those relatively quickly.

The Sentinel-class transport cruised out of the Panthac's hangers with an enviable grace has it fell in amidst the Theta-class squadron. The crafts flat but tough and heavily shielded frame seemed out-of-place compared to the more graceful ships that surrounded it, but as its sublight engines quickly demonstrated this upgraded vessel was much faster than she looked. Knifing through the debris and back-and-forth turbolaser exchange, the Dauntless brought itself about in the shadow of the Theta's and appeared to be preparing to board the rebel station close to where the troopers were to be injected.

Inside the transport itself, the armored form of the Moff rolled her shoulders as she felt every life snuffed out about her in the engagement around them. Unhooking the cylinder of her lightsaber, the Dark Jedi master twirled the shaft about her fingers several times as she pushed her senses further and further beyond the walls of the shuttle - her mindseye enveloping the surrounding terrain to see what her eyes could not so that she may find singular focus among the chaos of battle.

As the bucking and external detonations of turbolaser fire rescinded in volume and the ship started to decelerate, the Moff straightened herself out and neared the exit ramp. Much would be decided in the next thirty minutes, and she wanted to control the hand of fate as much as she could...

Jen Arard: You receive an urgent. highlighted, flashing request from the main launch bay controller. As the holo pops up, you see a flashing blue image of the young Ensign's head slammed against the holo transmitter by a heavily armored hand. In a slightly compressed voice, the ensign states: "Sir, the Moff's Master at Arms is requesting a priority launch position on behalf of his lady. Sledge Squadron is ahead in queue."

You can launch BP's shuttle and 3 lambdas, which will make up the boarding party, or you can launch the bombers and tell the Moff to wait, or some other combination thereof.

"Oh damn. Should have sourced the Sentinels to a secondary launch bay." Jen sends a Hold order to Sledge Squadron, taking the extra time to make sure their XO and tactical officer gets the latest groundside data. "Clear Moff Vesa for launch. Alert her pilot to the current situation in space, and send a marked urgent report to the fighter screen to track her position." Jen shuffles the launch order on his datapad, checks the new projections on airstrike readiness for Sledge and sends an updated timetable to Admiral Halcoor.

He flicks open the comline to SPECNAV planet side. "Gentlemen, be aware. Airsupport will be delayed by at least one minute. Repeat and confirm." Damn. Damn, damn, damn. It wasn't his place to criticize the Moff's actions of course. The chain of command was important, but she would need to be included in the planning phase of any future operations, if only to declare her intentions.

Delaying Sledge and launching the Moff and her retinue, if only for the juicy roleplay opportunities at a later date.

To an untrained eye, the fury of the space battle continues unabated - beams coruscate across the horizon and small, silent explosions punctuate the area. To the trained eye, it's all over but the crying. Another salvo of ion bolts leaves a rebel freighter inert in space, next to three others drifting similarly. A fifth freighter is standing in space broadcasting a surrender beacon, with its shields down and engines off. The sixth jumps away, a last survivor of a small fleet now ruined.

Bursts of laser fire from the Panthac and interceptors destroy the incoming rebel bombers, and the interceptors dogpile into a swirling fight with the remaining rebel fighters. Four more shuttles, three lambdas and a sentinel, fly out towards the crippled rebel military station, passing calmly through the one-sided melee of fighters around them. Through this fight, a short burst of turbolaser fire towards the surface seems almost an afterthought.

Halcoor and Arard - the situation map becomes busier and busier as the situation becomes more and more favorable. The last red icons disappear from the map as the blue interceptor squadrons converge on the remaining X-wings and the fleeing fighters disappear behind the civilian station. In their place, more and more lower priority icons take prominence - the list of hails and communication intercepts, the clouds of yellow survivor beacons, the kicked-ant-pile pandemonium of the airspace over the groundside settlement, and the increasing number of ships flying away from the civilian station.

I'm not gonna update the tactical map this turn, because there's not much interesting happening on it. Right now, there is so much information available to you guys about what's going on that I'll need you to post IC what you want to focus on.

Admiral Halcoor - Once you assign the naval gunfire support, it recedes to a different corner of your brain. It should be about two minutes for them to acquire the target and register the guns, then a good ten to twelve seconds of firing before you need to look up and see what happens. So you are surprised when you see the target request flash complete a full 45 seconds early. Weapons reports eagerly: "Ma'am, Grek splashed the target on the registration shots.* Radar facility and two small launchpads destroyed. Rest of the speeder port intact."

Commander Arard - Amidst the shouting coordination between the Dagger and Knife squadron liaisons as they try to make sure they don't kill each other in the melee, another watch officer stands. "Sir, launch control requests guidance where you want us to put this captured transport."

Dekki - You are in a bit of an information vacuum in the medical support shuttle, which gives you time to think. Since the destruction of the first enemy craft it's been about a half hour, which means that the people in emergency escape bubbles are going to start running out of air and suffering from exposure pretty soon.

Inquisitor Kru - The theta turns 180 degrees and lands with its back facing the government building. Before you get a full view, you hear the struts start bumping and thudding as the SPECNAV teams deploy, led by huge troopers in black space armor. You follow behind, flanked by Captain Kano.

You landed in a grassy mall - some alien grass meant to inspire comfort, no doubt - immediately in front of the Mustafar government building, an unremarkable three-story structure about the size of a primary school, made out of huge slabs of local granite rock. It lacks any of the majesty of a core world seat of government - rather, it smacks of the kind of building where people go to file claims and renew their speeder permits. As you step off the shuttle, your whole view blacks out for a moment as the pilots engage the cloaking device. When you step into the courtyard, the only sign of your shuttle is a slight ripple in the grass from the idling repulsors.

Teams fan out to the left and right of the building, with the space troopers and grenadiers firing gas grenades copiously into the second and third floors. Two more teams in front of you make directly for the front doors, with the space troopers in front battering through them at a full sprint. You see the telltale flashes of blaster fire behind as the commandos following eliminate the security guards. One team remains outside the front door with bags of zip cuffs and stun grenades, waiting for the flood.

This whole process is silent, except for the slams of the doors, the quick bursts of fire, and the thumps of the grenade launchers and tinkles of glass. In the meantime, you feel the ground shake as eight terrific explosions occur a kilometer away at the speeder port.

Moff Vesa - You make your way towards what the stormtrooper legion assessed was the command base of the three-cornered military station - one of the Baas stations connected to the ruptured gantry from the destroyed Nebulon-B. As you approach, your shuttle and the lambda accompanying it fire short bursts at the closing metal doors of the docking bay, freezing them in place. And then you land, gliding into darkened docking bay of the station.

Though the force field holding in the atmosphere is still in place, the docking bay is eerily quiet and bathed in strobing red light. You barely notice the transition as you step off the artificial gravity of your shuttle and into the gravity of the space station. Around you, your guards fan out in a normal defensive pattern and the stormtroopers from the lambda start moving ahead, clearing the bay.

The force in this place feels like the leftover of panic and fear, but you sense very little life. As you expand your senses, you detect a few cringing minds in one of the upper control rooms, and an exhausted crew working near the strut to another station. You push further, waiting to find something more...

And then you are startled. There is a single shining point, a mind burning with purpose, focus, destiny, and rage. It is moving around in the lower cargo hold of this station, almost 400 meters below you. This is the mind of someone with nothing to lose.

I will continue including these for stuff that I don't think is common knowledge.

NGFS - Naval Gunfire Support. Refers to land troops calling artillery support from a ship, instead of a land battery.

Registration shot - firing one round from an artillery weapon to see where it lands, before you correct and start firing for effect.

Splash - artillery speak for the boom when a round lands.

Having not yet turned on her saber, Vesa melted into the shadows in the space-black interior of the hanger despite the dimensions granted by her armor. However, inside her helmet the Moff's own eyes were able to peer through the murk at the line of soldiers that fanned out across the bay while nary a movement caught their attention. Peering about slowly, Vesa moved towards the hanger-bay doors with the complete expectation that they would suddenly be blown from their indentures or that they would part to reveal a platoon of soldiers waiting to disgorge an avalanche of rapid fire blaster bolts.

But the alert did not come from directly ahead.

Submerged, but no less faint, a point of attention screamed at the Moff's senses from deep into the station: a clarion call that rippled through metal, flesh and plasteel. For this was not a radio or shout, but rather a signal that transmitted across the current of the Force, desperate, frightened, hot with rage.

Pausing as she noted this disturbance, the Moff looked around the floor slowly as if she could spot a manhole to slip into feet first.

"Engineering," the Moff spoke quietly through her comm.

"How close are you to a blue-print read out of this facility?" she asked as she picked up her pace and moved towards the hanger bay blast doors.

With her mind on opening those doors, she allowed the Force to guide her actions...

We have one pilot spaced, and an opportunity to capture a significant number of hostiles, assuming their emergency life support is still holding out."

Jen turns back to the watch officer, "Open the port shuttle bay. Keep some stormtroopers on site, and order the transport to remain shut for the time being. And make sure we have holocams on the shuttle and all exits at all times. If any cameras go out, or any doors to that transport open, space the hangar. Oh, and send a communication to the transport. Assure them POW status if they're military, or full legal protections if they are found to be civilians."

Moff Vesa - The main hangar bay seems to be full of recently abandoned system craft and their assorted maintenance paraphernalia, including a bunch of A-wings probably used for security duty. It is almost eerily quiet, given how quickly the rebels must have deserted.

"Engineering," the Moff spoke quietly through her comm.

"How close are you to a blue-print read out of this facility?" she asked as she picked up her pace and moved towards the hanger bay blast doors.

"M'lady, we've transmitted a blueprint of a standard Baas station to your computer. We don't know what kind of modifications the rebels have made to the internal holds, but the gross details should still apply."

Punching up the blueprint, you can quickly see that the focused signature is coming from the main cargo bay.

Admidst all the confusion Dekki is on his datapad reading through messages as random crew members he's grown close to, physicians assigned to the various sectors, and official messages stream in. He idly says to those stormtroopers that are strapping in as he reads "It may be the case that I will join you all at a later time. Chaos of battle and all that." He stays safely strapped in as he sends a message to the bridge with a priority below the battle that's winding down but above the random hails from the other side "Requesting the troops be sent after first two rounds of bombers or fighters, 502nd to be sent to the ground settlement and mines while 506th to be sent to the stations. Dekki will accompany first round of shuttles to the civilian station."
Then, as a separate message, he sent to Veesha at the same level "I will help insure the injured are properly directed. Until the shuttle is ready I will aid the crew as well." A third message goes out to the medbays alerting them to the expected influx of injured. Droids and assistants are told to get stretchers and emergency supplies to the bays that the lifeboats are launching from, physicians and up are told to report to surgery for the seriously injured. Dekki then unbuckled and says to the shuttle "Roughly two minutes until we start launching. I will return in another three to accompany the four lambdas being sent to the civilian station. Stay safe, be cautious, and I will see each of you once this is over with."

Formally requesting troop transports launch after bombers and fighters. Three lambdas for the military station, one for the civilian station, per launch. Dekki will join the second round toward the civilian station. One round of 4 lambdas to the ground settlement, one round of 4 lambdas to the mines, one round of 4 lambdas to the military station, and one round of 4 lambdas to the civilian station. Eventually getting the 401st planetside (preferably after the first round so that there's a secure landing zone for them).

Otherwise just getting the medbays ready to direct the injured from the escape pod bays that are being used. Dekki is heading there for the next three rounds to offer aid.

"Very well." Jen returns to his console, sending orders for the fighter groups to make way for pickups. "Lieutenant Nehsat, deploy life boats. Prioritize our downed pilot, but tell the captains to standby for larger areas of responsibility." Jen pulls up a map of the system and begins subdividing the clouds of rescue signals into more manageable chunks.

"Comms, send out an open communication: 'As the aftermath of the battle leaves both civilian and Rebel forces inadequately equipped to preforms search and rescue, the Panthac is deploying lifeboats to pick up any spaced survivors. Any pilots serving as a member of the Rebel Alliance will be accorded POW status, and will face no summary punishment. Again. All pilots serving as a member of the Rebel Alliance will be accorded POW status and will face no summary punishment. Be aware: firing upon designated lifeboats will not only require a resumption of hostilities, but will force an end to all rescue operations. Additionally, such an action would constitute a war crime, increasing the penalties levied upon any Rebel fighters held in custody.' Send me an alert if there are any responses."

Basically that. Send out life boats, first one to grab our pilot, then others in a more general pick up pattern. Have nay free fighter wings shadow them for defense.

- Various different hails from all of the transports, signalling distress or requesting to surrender. The comms team responded to each with a standard "turn off your engines, shields, and hyperdrive and await further instructions. We will destroy you if you fail to comply."
- Initial challenging hails from the military station, to the effect that this is rebel held space and the empire is not welcome here. The comms team ignored this rebel propaganda, and they stopped sending it shortly after launching fighters.
- Distress signals from the various casualties in orbit.
- An urgent request from the space elevator control station not to fire near the civilian station or ground station, as damage to the space elevator tether could be CATASTROPHIC. (with as many underlines and exclamation points as they could get)
- 17 mysterious coded signals from 4 different groundside stations, including 2 in the capital city. Both of the capital city transmissions seem to have gone dark.

Moff Vesa - The emergency hatch is simply a ladder built into the outside of the main turbolift tube. Talia moves quickly, followed by a few stormtroopers from the main squadron and a couple members of her security detail (the latter at a more respectful distance, they know better what she can do). It's a long, dark climb - 100 meters down through the service and living areas, 100 through the upper cargo area. The station remains dark and quiet, with red emergency lights strobing lonely on every 10 meters of the climb. It's a breath of fresh air when you pull open the hatch to the lower cargo area and see that the lights are on and the climate is controlled.

The lower cargo area is a vast open circular space, about 200 meters in radius, with 50 meter ceilings, around the central tube of the cargo lift. Huge 30 meter temporary bulkheads are built between them, dividing the room into almost eight pizza slices that don't quite meet in the middle. From your view at the top of the hatch you can see over the bulkheads. The rows are almost full - 20 meter high stacks of stores lie in even and orderly rows extending to the far wall. A couple load lifter droids are moving crates of stuff towards the turbolift tube. As you look over the area, you realize what supply post is holding.

This part of the rebel station is an ordnance dump, and a huge one. You see vast racks of proton torpedoes, concussion missiles, chaff and flak pods, grenades, mines, power packs. Enough weaponry to supply a star destroyer for a month or two of sustained combat, or, perhaps, resupply a rebel fleet after a major battle.

Inquisitor Kru - Things start to get busy for you. In front of you, panicked civilians start rushing out of the government buildings, coughing and vomiting from the riot control gas. The SPECNAV guys are waiting for them - one commando is standing there, acting like a cop and ushering people away; once the turn the corner, other commandos just shoot them with stunners. The reports come in quickly to you and Captain Kano - "Alpha on station and dealing with the runners. We'll send a team in to clear in five." "Beta moving in. Got teams clearing all three floors of the imperial hotel." "Gamma on station and blocking. Police haven't moved out yet, but we've got a lot of activity in the building." "Delta on overwatch. Alpha, you guys got some people moving on the roof. Want us to scare them off?"

Throughout this, your commo starts bleeping urgently, with everyone trying to get at you. The first, most urgent, is from the incoming stormtrooper company - "SPECNAV, this is Pelagius 6. ETA 12 mike, where do you want our LZ?*" Before you've even processed this, you get another series of bleeps notifying you of the rest of the incoming coded message traffic.

I'm only giving you a quick readout of the message traffic. If you want to read it all, you'll need to post that in your action IC, as that's pretty cognitively demanding.

The messages unlock to an ISB cipher used about 9 months ago, when Mustafar fell to the rebellion.

There are four messages from two assets in the capital city, codenamed PINCUSHION and BUTTONHOLE.

PINCUSHION sent three messages:
1. "PINCUSHION READY AND ACTIVE. CURRENTLY ON EAST SIDE ELEVATOR (ON GROUND). REQUEST GUIDANCE AND PRIORITY."

2. "4 KNOWN REBELS MOVING FOR CONHUGECO AMALGAMATED MINE IN NORTH SECTOR IN AIRSPEEDER"

3. "EAST SIDE ELEVATOR NOW ASCENDING. NO KNOWN REBELS ON THIS LOAD, BUT REFUGEES STARTING TO QUEUE UP AT WEST SIDE ELEVATOR STATION."

BUTTONHOLE sent one message:
1. "ASSET BUTTONHOLE REPORTS AS ACTIVE AND STATION CHIEF MUSTAFAR. NOTE MUSTAFAR POLICE DEPARTMENT CONTROLLED BY REBELS. THREE OTHER ASSETS HAVE BEEN CAPTURED BY REBELS."

Halcoor and Arard - Your lives, at this point, are almost calm. With the space battle decided, and the remaining two rebel fighters surrendering, you are waiting and observing as a number of other operations mature. Knife section cues in right on time. "Command, Knife 2-6. No visual on the fighters. There's an open docking bay, they might have landed. Nothing out here but some civilian craft - damn, one just jumped. Knife 2-6, over."

In the meantime, the antpile of ground speeder traffic around the capital city seems to calm down. There are five speeders making way overland to what looks like mine sites, but nothing else of note. All radio communication from the civil settlement is suppressed under the SPECNAV thetas, but there is a buzz from the rest of the planet of various stations trying to figure out what is going on.

Admiral Halcoor - As Knife 2-6 reports, one of the sensor sections chimes in. "No cronau radiation from that side of the civilian station - wait one - Nope, the fighters didn't jump away."

Your intel section chief, the dedicated and attentive Lieutenant Commander Vorinnis, reports back. "Ma'am, we're on the crypto. It's an advanced code, it will take us about four hours to decrypt."

While all of this is happening, you notice the stately dance of the disabled freighters as they are slowly and methodically moved to the safest boarding points. First in line is the surrendered freighter, and pretty soon a fresh junior trooper lieutenant reports "Cotterdam is up and boarding party 5 is ready."

Commander Arard & Dekki - The 9th support squadron reports a successful recovery of your spaced pilot, who is in pretty good shape, with only a broken leg and a nasty concussion to show for it. A few minutes later, you get a different message - "Sir, we've got four full boats with approximately 292 pax from the damaged frigate. They're swarming onto the boats. There's a bunch of rebels in here, and 28 critical casualties. Moving back now, where do you want them?"

The ship security detail officer stands almost immediately afterwards: "Sir, we've only got 200 holding cells on this boat. We can stage them under guard in the small shuttle bay."

*"gone dark" - slang for no longer transmitting

*Pelagius 6 - commander of Pelagius company
*ETA - Estimated time of arrival
*mike - radio talk for minute
*LZ - Landing Zone.

I would recommend a squadron of stormtroopers to help maintain the peace as we organize them and send them to the Starboard Aft Medbay once they've been screened and taken care of." True to his word he would immediately offer first aid to any that had been bloodied in the fighting, friend or foe, and instruct the physicians that had joined him to do the same. Once they were safely away from death's door he would then instruct the assistants and droids to take them to the medbays. There they could receive more long-term care as opposed to a stitch to stop bleeding, a shock to start a heart, or a shock to help fight off the shock of battle.
The injured are dropped off in a pair of bays, under protection of some stormtroopers.
Injuries are judged by the higher ranked doctors and Dekki, those who are critically injured will have one of us take 10 on Treat Injury to do First Aid and nail it to varying degrees.
Once everyone is at least stable they'll be filed into the medbay for that section of the ship to receive a more thorough examination and care.
Likely the process will be broken into sections so that every twenty or so people are in the medbay, twenty are in transit to, and twenty are in transit from (to wherever they're ultimately taken). Said medbay can also be where they're sorted so that the more important rebels get locked up, the ones that aren't as important linger in the bay, the civilians are given a guest room, whatever. Dekki's less concerned once everyone won't be dying on him.

"Tha plan sounds acceptable for now." Leopard sends deployment orders to the ship's stormtrooper reserve, indicating the guaranteed legal status of the rebel captives. "Flight deck, continue the scheduled launches." Jen reopens the channel to SPECNAV. "Matters in space are largely concluded. Air support will be arriving in... 4 minutes. ground troops will be incoming as well."

I believe the air support fighters will be launched in the next minute? At any rate I'm holding to the schedule I previously posted.

Fleet, be advised we have new intelligence that the eastern elevator is in use and ascending. No known rebel elements on ascending load however it appears that there is a crowd gathering at the western elevator prepping to ascend as well.

Pelagius 6: LZ is Western elevator access point. We have a crowd of refugee's gathering for ascent that need to be contained. Dissuade them from using the elevator. The eastern elevator is already ascending if you have the man power securing the eastern access point is priority as well though we have a pair of eyes on the situation there.

SpecNav Instructions
All Teams: All teams, new intelligence received. We have confirmation that the police force is rebel controlled. Intelligence suggests that 3 ISB assets are being held in custody location unknown. Team instructions to follow.

Alpha: Kano keep sorting and searching there has to be someone here that knows something that we can use. I need leaders and VIP's if they aren't here someone here knows, if no one here knows then they know someone that knows someone. Find them.

Beta: Roger Beta, report when sweep is clear. Recovery of VIP's and intelligence is priority.

Delta:Delta, confirmed see if you can make them rethink the roof. In addition I want you prepped to support Gamma in case the rebels have a couple tricks up their sleeves but ready to move if needed. New intelligence is being assessed and could require infiltration of the police station or redeployment outside of the city.

Gamma: Gamma, continue blocking. If you see targets of opportunity while they are prepping I want you to take them though. Any opportunities that you have to slow deployment or cause chaos for the rebels the better. Happy hunting.

Once Rol issues his orders he'll return his attention to the coded messages that he received. He had only had a moment to skim them howeve we needed more time to assess them properly. Fortune favored the prepared and more information had never been a bad thing in his experience.

Soo I know there is potientally a lot going on there so feel free to ask questions if it doesn't make sense or if I've made assumptions that are completely unfounded.

Gamma, we've received intelligence that there was ISB assets in custody by the police force. We're not sure of their location, they could be at the police station, they could be held else where. Could you clear the building without destroying the entire structure? We are sorely lacking in local knowledge it could be that those assets are with thier weight in gold. It would be unfortunate if something untold were to happen to them.

"Much appreciated command. Keep us updated if you receive anymore...strange hails""There's two more still broadcasting in the outlying areas. Details coming your way," Veesah said, gesturing to an aide.

First in line is the surrendered freighter, and pretty soon a fresh junior trooper lieutenant reports "Cotterdam is up and boarding party 5 is ready.""They have the sense to surrender, so ask them to open up before knocking.

"Fan out; someone is here," she uttered gently over her comms to those troopers that had come with her, as the Moff's own gaze started to sweep the area in search of the frantic, reckless soul she had sensed deliberating within an area full of enough ordnance to level a city...

You can't track the source of the disturbance exactly, but you see coils of detonator cord moving between the various areas. As you track the det cord around, you see it moving down a hallway and not coming out. If there's a mad bomber, he's probably down that hall.

"They have the sense to surrender, so ask them to open up before knocking."

Halcoor and Arard - 502nd liaison reports: "Ma'am. Boarding crew A is aboard the surrendered freighter. They report that that it is a hospital ship, crew of 30, enroute with the rest of the convoy to resupply the rebel fleet at Eriadu. We've moved a scanning and a guard crew aboard, and boarding crew A is moving to the next airlock. Detailed report to follow."

"Boarding crew B is starting work on the first disabled freighter secured off the port bow."

"Orion company reports that they've occupied all three corners of the military station. It appears to be a supply and ordnance depot, and recently abandoned."

Give me a knowledge (tactics) roll to assess the significance of a resupply mission to Eriadu, unless you've figured out what's up here yet.

"Two minutes until the next shuttle launch. Presumably another two-three minutes for them to approach and dock on the station."

Knife squadron reports that it has taken up perimeter around the civilian station, but it reports that there are at least two civilian shuttles that have launched. They have no way to stop the shuttles from hypering out.

Dagger (interceptor) and Hammer (bomber) squadrons have taken up station over the groundside settlement. They are chasing down civilian speeders and ordering them to land, focusing on air traffic near the city right now.

Pleiades company is boarded up on shuttles and launches for the civilian station.

Could you clear the building without destroying the entire structure?

"Not without significant casualties."

"Sir, refugees are scattering as soon as they see us. We're landing a platoon at each onload/offload point on each side, four total. Unless otherwise directed we're sending the shuttles back to the Panthac."

New intelligence is being assessed and could require infiltration of the police station or redeployment outside of the city.

"On it." You see Delta's theta fly over the roof and fire a short burst of laser cannon fire over their heads. Then, two space troopers jump out of the back and onto the roof and start shooting stun bolts. "Roof secure."

The remaining 13 messages are from two stations, CREAK and SCATTERGUN. Again, since you don't have the old station's assets, you don't know much about these stations or their placement and access.

CREAK's messages are transmitted from one of the larger mines, about 45 minutes north northwest of the capital city by airspeeder.
SCATTERGUN's messages are transmitted from the peak of one of the larger mountain ranges. You suspect it's a retrans site, not the actual location of SCATTERGUN.

The messages, are ordered chronologically, starting from the moment the Panthac entered Mustafar space (E):

E +3 minutes: CREAK: STATION CREAK REPORTS ACTIVE.
E +4 minutes: SCATTERGUN: SCATTERGUN ACTIVE. (about the time the nebulon-B is destroyed)
E +7 minutes: CREAK: REBELS HAVE SIGNIFICANT PRESENCE AT CONHUGECO AMALGAMATED MINE.
E +12 minutes: SCATTERGUN: STATION SCATTERGUN IS MUSTAFAR STATION COUNTERINTELLIGENCE.
E +14 minutes: SCATTERGUN: REQUEST DIRECT COMMUNICATION USING CHANNEL 417 TO DISCUSS REBEL INTELLIGENCE CAPABILITY.
E +16 minutes (about the time the corvettes destroyed): CREAK: REBELS EVACUATING CONHUGECO AMALGAMATED MINE.
E +16 minutes: CREAK: ADDITIONAL REBEL ASSETS ENROUTE TO SECURE VERY IMPORTANT PERSONNEL AT MINE.
E +20 minutes: (about the time SPECNAV enters the city) CREAK: STATION CREAK READY TO ASSIST WITH RECOVERY. REQUEST GUIDANCE.

Confident that she wouldn't soon be blasted into atoms, the Moff moved towards the exit of the bay and the connected hallway into which the bundle of cords folded and writhed as whatever held them continued his mad dash.

Gesturing with her left hand, Vesa picked up her pace to catch up with whoever's plan she ha djust foiled...

Vesa's flight down the hall was halted as the Force tingled at the back of her skull as a tiny whisper warning her of the immediate future. For half a second, time seemed to slow down for half a second as the dimly lit corridor before her erupted into a forest of red spears.

The saber in Vesa's right hand snarled to life in time to batter the first bolts that would have otherwise speared every corner of her body.

Squaring her shoulders as if she were about to walk head-first into an avalanche, Vesa brought her weapon about for protection as she moved forward and towards the source of her consternation...

ooc:

I should wait for the perception check results to see what is at the end of the corridor (if it's one dude with an auto-firing rifle, or a squad etc). But the general idea is that she's moving towards them.

Moff Vesa - The force speeds your hand and your lightsaber, and you almost subconsciously deflect the first of the bolts as you move around the corner. At the end of the hallway, about 30 yards away, you see a man crouched over a control box, frantically plugging a cable in as he sprays fire from a blaster carbine in your general direction with the other hand.

As you round the corner, he says "it's time S1R1! FOR THE REBELLION!!!!" His companion, a binary load lifter holding a pallet full of concussion missiles wrapped in det cord and trailing a wire to the control panel starts running towards you, surprisingly fast.

You are at one end of a hallway 4 squares wide and 24 squares long. From you, it's 12 squares to the droid, 20 squares to the rebel, and 21 squares to the control panel.

Your action.

The second the medbays are in full swing and the critically injured are cared for, Dekki gives a nod to the well oiled machine that was moving through the halls with the injured under guard. For a few seconds he pondered asking someone to interrogate the prisoners but decided that ultimately it would be unnecessary for him to say such. Contact me if there's any change and I will do my best to assist, otherwise it's time for me to head out. Good luck." He gave the human a salute and then rolled out.

Moff Vesa - Binary load lifters are not smart droids. This one lacks the sense to let go of its payload as it is lifted into the air and carried with it. The droid struggles, but helplessly, as it flails its legs a few inches off the ground.

The other guy, however, is not so flummoxed. He dives behind a bulkhead with his control panel, and a second later there is a tremendous explosion...

The droid blows up, somewhat harmlessley. Somewhat, because it's a hallway full of missiles. But, they're not properly wired for a chain reaction.

SO, 50% chance you get caught up in the chain reaction, and 50% chance he gets caught up. However, you don't get to see his roll.

a moment later you stand back up. You're not sure how long that moment was, but every part of your body feels like it got punched by a professional shockboxer simultaneously. But your armor holds, and your helmet saved your hearing. The whole hallway is full of smoke, briefly illuminated by flickers from small fires. As you press yourself to your feet, you hear a loud cracking sound, and you see the smoke start to whirl towards the end of the hallway.

Rol reads report after report coming in through his wrist terminal. He needed to relay this information to the fleet.

Command, we’ve id’d a strong rebel site of interest. CONHUGECO AMALGAMATED MINE in the northern sector. Intelligence suggests the site was used by rebels as possible command and supply center.

Rebels presence at mine listed as “significant” as of +7 minutes after Panthac entrance to Mustafar space.

The rebels are working to transfer systems and logistics to other mines in the area recommend targeting and investigation of local mines. We also have reports that native workers are coordinating with the rebels to bury supply caches. The cache locations are unknown currently.

Reliable intel also states that 4 Rebels are en route to the mine via air speeder in order to retrieve a VIP.

Requesting intercept of rebel airspeeders from the fleet and air support to hunt for rebels in the mine area.

I am gathering 2 teams and heading to the mine myself.

Rol then starts making transmissions

@Gamma: Team Gamma, Change of plans. Take out the police station. Assets are compromised. Let me see what you can do.

@Delta: Delta, We have new inteligence that rebel VIPs are located at CONHUGECO AMALGAMATED MINE in the northern sector. There are currently 4 rebels enroute to retrive them. You will leave immediately to intercept the VIPs and capture them for questioning. I'm transmitting the infomation that I have to you now. Alpha and I will join you once Pelagius relieves us.

@Pelagius 6: We have prisoners at my location that need to be taken into custody and processed for questioning later. I need a detachment sent immediately so that SpecNav can run another op. Send one of your platoons here and adjust your guard accordingly.

@Alpha: We have intel on a new location of interest. Delta is heading there now and we'll leave once Pelagius relieves us. I want Alpha ready to move once they touch down.

As Rol is waiting for everything he just shouted out to me done. He stroles over to the group of prisoners. He is menacing in his armor and he outwardly uses the force to compel a sense of dread into those around him.

He addresses the prisoners that they have gathered while Alpha swept the building.

Citizens of Mustafar. You have chosen rebellion against your empire. You have engaged in treason against the Empire of the galaxy. This can not be tolerated. Punishment will be swift and severe for those that aided in this plot however for those that come forward and aid us...loyalty ensures mercy.

You do not know me yet, but those of you that I will question will know me intimately. By my cruelty you will know me, by my anger you shall know me, but for those of you that come forward we could remain strangers and you will know none of those things.

Now I offer you this one chance. Does anyone have anything to say?

As he finishes saying the last word Rol points a clawed fist up into the sky and shoots force lighting from his hand arcing into the sky menacingly

Halcoor and Arard: 502nd liaison reports that the hospital ship has been let loose, with the boarding party still on board. They have detained the crew and let it drift - the tractor beam batteries are in the process of moving it to the far side of the Panthac to shield it from a potential explosion. The second boarding party cut through the exterior main airlock doors, fabricated a temporary barrier, and is cutting through the interior airlock now. They've let the ship loose - there are 8 spacetroopers on board with the boarding party doing their business. The third ship was left to drift.

Helm has plotted a course moving to 50km from the military station and pitching the Panthac over to point the main docking bays away from the station. The captured ships are shielded behind the Panthac as much as possible to prevent them from being caught up in the blast, but they're still keeping the flight lanes from the docking bay clear. Yo watch in amusement as the air traffic control sections whisper furiously to various ships, trying to keep this from turning into a total fiasco.

The Duke Okhrana post and 3 lambdaslaunches shortly after, making for the civilian station with your chief surgeon aboard.

Dekki: As the loud clunks indicating release reverberate through the ship and you feel the pressure of acceleration, you recognize that you are moving out of the familiarity of the Panthac's medical system. Once you reach cruising speed, you walk over to the main troop bay to hear the 502nd commander issuing instructions to his officers.

"We're locking down and searching this space station. Pleiades, I want one platoon guarding Main*, one platoon guarding the TAC*, and the rest of your platoons searching the station. I want three squads per platoon searching and one squad securing your docking bay. Should probably take 48 hours. Second echelon will be coming with scanning crews and other troops in a while. XO*, go with Pleiades command and figure out billeting arrangements for the occupation."

Inquisitor Kru: Delta acknowledges your orders to move out, and Captain Kano confirms - "yes, m'lord. We're almost done here."

As you move to address the prisoners, life adds its own dramatic timing. As you point to the sky to release your force lightning, there is a shimmer from the light force screen around the capital city, a brief flash, and then a tremendous series of booms as concentrated turbolaser fire rains from the heavens down onto the police station. Even from a kilometer away, the noise is tremendous, and the sky flashes with explosions. You hear the bemused report from Gamma slightly after. "Police station is taken out."

Needless to say, none of the cowed civilians can answer your questions during the bombardment. Alpha team members move through the crowd quickly, grabbing people and comparing their faces to the BOLO list. You hear various screams, sobs, and protests that "we had nothing to do with it! The rebels made us do it!"

Alpha has segregated another small group, hooded, cuffed, and stunned, in a pile about twenty yards from the main detainee holding area. There are about seven people in it. As Captain Kano walks through, he says "this is all we could find here. Beta's reporting seventeen targets captured from the hotels, and four killed in firefights. Beta's got two casualties, one critical."

In the middle of this report, you see Pelagius's lambdas appear over the main building and start to assemble in the mall. Alpha's theta disengages its cloaking field to prevent a collision. A single platoon disembarks from the Pelagius lambdas and reports: "Sir, we've got these prisoners, and can hold the building. Who do you want us to send back with the ships?"

Halcoor, Arard, Kru: Your intel officer sends a group of images of the CONHUGECO mine and a short assessment.

Basically, mining on Mustafar is really easy, because all of the minerals are already melted for you in the huge lava rivers. So a mine looks more like a wastewater treatment facility - big circular ponds being stirred to separate the heavier minerals from the molten slag, then separate rivers sending the concentrated metallic slag to foundries. At the end, there are huge silos where refined ingots are stored.

The CONHUGECO mine is particularly large, because it's on a tectonically stable area downstream of the unstable places where the magma ejects to the surface. It's one of the few mines with large permanent facilities.

There are barracks that look sufficient for about 2,000 native Mustafaran workers across the site, and then other facilities that look like offices and living quarters for maybe 150 humans. Grek assesses those as company headquarters. Nearby the site is a large, odd, probably imperial structure halfway submerged into a crevasse. It might even be Darth Vader's old villa. There are excavation vehicles nearby.

Commander Arard: Comms section reports another cryptic message on the same frequency as the others. In addition, your comms officer reports that they've made contact with the commander of Moff Vesa's security detail.

Moff Vesa:

Roll a knowledge (tactics) or knowledge (technology), whatever's better.

You scramble up the ladder, out of the cargo bay as fast as possible. You hear groans and creaks throughout the bay, but none of the loud cracks that could signal failure of the hull and lead to explosive decompression.* When you get to the top, Imperial Sergeant Harix is waiting for you, wearing his perpetual scowl. "M'lady. Det cord is handled. We shouldn't have a chain reaction. Also, the Panthac's trying to get a hold of you."

Main - shorthand for the main command post, the place where most of the 502nd headquarters would be located and the place where they'd put their regimental aid station.

TAC - "Tactical Assault Command Post." shorthand for the place where the commander's staff primaries are located. Usually closer to the front than the main, and usually mobile. Commander usually travels with the TAC.

BOLO - Be On the Look Out.

Staring in the direction from which she had just withdrawn, Talia nodded her head in recognition of the troopers words.

"If they had've blown this place this whole operation would have been for nothing. Good work to you and your men," she congratulated.

Receiving the message that the Panthac was attempting contact, Talia withdrew her personal holoprojector and held the disc-shaped device upon her palm and activated it.

Whoever was trying to contact her would soon receive an inflated, blue-white holographic image of the Moff's helmeted visage staring at them.

Jen breaths a quiet sigh of relief when the Moff appears on holo. "My Lady, I apologize for the intrusion. I assume by your presence that the explosion was contained?" The young commander waits long enough for a response, then continues. "We have troops enroute to the civilian station now, if you wish to accompany them." Arard leaves unmentioned the advise that leaving a Moff in an ammo dump that just suffered an internal explosion may he inadvisable.

The Moffs image flickered and distorted as she seemed to...remove her half-burned helmet. Shaking her head once, half of which was shaved, her bright eyes stared down at Jen with the slightest hint of a smirk lurking in the right corner of her mouth; it was a look that asked "what do you think?".

"In a manner of speaking," Talia spoke, unable to contain a bright, toothy grin as her firm, rich voice now came through the comms without the filter of a helmet.

Folding her thick arms over her armored abdonem, Talia smirked as she lsitened to Jen continue and seemed to perk an eyebrow at something she said.

"Really?" she stated rather than asked, "that's very good of you to give me the option to..."accompany" my own men." The Moff seemed almost entertained by Jen's suggestion, and it was difficult to discern from her grinning expression and mordant words whether she was telling her off or genuinely amused.

"Have a shuttle re-route. I'll meet them in the hanger bay and ask them for a ride," Talia winked and shut the comm off.

Pocketing her holo-transceiver, Talia rolled her shoulders as she turned about to address the handful of troopers already with her.

"You heard the commander; I've gotten new marching orders," the Moff's rictus remaining.

"Harix," she started, pointing a gloved finger in the sergeants direction, "there's one more straggler in there; I'll leave the area to you. Be careful, he's proven a slippery mynock. Keep on the look out for booby traps."

And with that, Talia moved off, twirling her saber between her long fingers and whistling to herself as she made her way to the hanger bay that she had originally touched down within.

Dekki nodded along and quietly cleared his throat once the orders were given. He spoke calmly, yet seemed intently aware of where he fell within the order of this operation, as he addressed the commander. "In addition to healing I do have some experience with swaying people to see the Empire's reasoning, if that would be helpful. I would honestly prefer to maintain a position within their medbays unless you or your soldiers require my assistance, though. I trust in your judgement of course, seeing as how we are out of my natural environment."

Inquisitor Kru - you get a variety of impressions. Firsthand, you can exclude two of the seven as irrelevant - they are quaking local government bureaucrats stuck between a rock and special forces team. The other five, however, are rebel officials. You can extract a few pieces of relevant information - they are worried about the team sent managing the unburying and exploration of Darth Vader's stronghold, and they don't trust the CONHUGECO mine executives at all. The former team consists of some rebel officers and engineers and a robed leader who kept murmuring about the dark side. The latter, the executives, have slow-rolled and protested complying with rebel decrees freeing the Mustafarans from their de facto slavery.

Dekki - The commander acknowledges your offer, then looks aside as an aide grabs his arm and whispers something urgently. "That's great," he says, very simply and sarcastically. "Change course." He then turns to the headquarters company commander: "Prepare to receive the Moff. Get this deck squared away and get everyone turned out. Clear out a space for her in the command vehicle."

Then, he finally turns back to you, and addresses you with a combination of respect and contempt.* "Sir, looks like the Moff will be in charge with talking to the VIPs. Can you please message the station and have them prepare to receive us on their A-deck landing platform? Please ensure that they have their leadership present and ready to surrender."

Respect, because your formal rank as chief medical officer is Brigadier General. You're not sure if the contempt comes from being a medical officer, from being a xeno, or from both.

Then the ship changes course, and heads towards the military station.

Moff Vesa - Harix is too professional to harrumph, but by a slight twitch in his jaw you can tell he disagrees with your order. Probably convinced you'll get yourself killed by the space station crew. But, whatever. He complies, pointing to the stormtroopers that came with you and stating simply "follow me." Then he starts down the ladder, muttering various orders on the commlink.

When you get back to the flight deck, the stormtrooper platoon lieutenant reports "Station secure ma'am. The Okhrana will be landing in two minutes."

As the fat and ugly landing craft glides into the bay, the front hatch descends and you can see the ship's troops arrayed in parade file to either side of the walkway, with the commander of the 502nd standing to the right side of the entranceway at attention.

Halcoor and Arard - The boarding party from the second freighter reports that they're aboard, and that the ship is loaded to the brim with ordnance. The crew put up some resistance, four are dead and two critial, and the bridge is wrecked from the spacetroopers' torpedo launchers. The troopers think that the crew might have been willing to blow the ship before it got cut loose. In the meanwhile, the grapple batteries start moving the other three freighters back to the Panthac.

Arard - you also get a tight comm broadcast from Sergeant Harix: "Sir. I'm in command now at the military station. Moff is reporting to the 502nd without her guard - those men better be completely loyal. Request you to put eyes on the crack on the cargo bay wall to make sure our saboteur doesn't escape outside. Also need a repair crew here ASAP in order to seal the cargo bay and to stop all the fuel leaks. Acknowledge. Over."

Talia peered through the viewhole at the amber-like sphere of Mustafa and its crown of mining, production and civilian facilities that they had now seized. It wasn't the most glorious prize one could envision. Indeed, on the galactic scale this set of installations ranked as almost subpar. But as any good publicist knew, image was everything. Though tiny and, arguably, insignificant in the grand scheme of things, what Talia saw before her was the stepping stone to something greater; a symbol.

Drawing her gaze to the exit as the heavy-set shuttle came to a rest, Talia rolled her shoulders as she moved to stand with feet-at-shoulders width atop the peak of the descent ramp. Before that durasteel plank had even touched the ground, the Moff could see the line of troopers waiting for her arrival, and as she moved down the flight and made bootfall on the floor, her customised white armour, brandishing several burn-poch marks as it was, allowed her a degree of camouflage among the soldiers to her flanks.

Even without her helmet, Talia stood several inches above the nearest fellow, and as she moved down that passage with the fluid gait of a predatory cat, her blue eyes swept over the soldiers to her side as she brought up her right hand to offer a short salute of respect.

Admiral Halcoor - With a few quick punches and swipes, you bring up the groundside situation report. Turns out one of the TIE interceptors ordered the rebel aircar down fifteen minutes ago, but moved on to intercept some others when priority shifted to speeders heading towards the SPECNAV team. You don't have eyes on it at the moment, but you know where it landed and will pick up if it starts moving again.

Moff Vesa - as you step onto the landing craft, the ramp immediately starts up. The regimental commander is immediately to your right, in a rigid salute. As you return the gesture, he drops his, and starts talking quickly. "M'lady, we are proceeding to the civilian station immediately. My troops have orders to begin searching the station and securing known rebels and equipment. The xeno over there...", vague gesture to Dekki, "will ensure that the station leadership is assembled and prepared to formally surrender. I have a brief on the plan available, and have prepared space for you in the mobile command post section."

Like most mid-career executives standing in the face of someone who could make or break them, he is dripping with nervous energy while simultaneously trying to project confidence.

Unless you say otherwise, assume that you got an appropriately dolled-up version of the brief he gave to his officers a couple posts ago.

"We're locking down and searching this space station. Pleiades, I want one platoon guarding Main*, one platoon guarding the TAC*, and the rest of your platoons searching the station. I want three squads per platoon searching and one squad securing your docking bay. Squads should expect cooperation from all station security elements, and will disarm them and secure all weapons and prisoners at the main docking bays. We're looking for rebel leaders and equipment - you've all got the BOLO* lists for leaders, and the specs of the four new-type fighters. As Rol removes his hand from the last of the prisoners he breathes in focusing the force within him.

Take these two for processing Rol points to the two sniveling bureaucrats. He strides to them standing above them. You work for us now. You will aid your empire in anyway that you can and any way that we demand of you. Cooperate and you will find there are rewards to be had. Refuse, well I will say that I would not recommend that. Rol jestures for them to be taken to one of the shuttles.

Rol then closes his eyes and reaches out with his mind searching for his Moff. She would want to know about the robbed figure as soon as possible.

He turns to address the remaining 5 prisoners Rol ignites his lightsaber it's crimsion glow crackles and arcs off the blade.

He grabs the rebel officer that he got the most information from by the throat and holds the blade up to their face.

Dekki doesn't seem to mind the contempt, simply nodding at the new order. He rolled to the side where he'd be out of the way and sent the message to the civilian station over the standard channels. "Dekki, Chief Medical Officer of the ISD Panthac, requesting that all station leadership be assembled at the A-deck landing platform. We will be landing in 15* minutes and appreciate your cooperation in this transfer of leadership." From his spot he saluted the Moff when she boarded the shuttle and otherwise remained out of the way so that he wouldn't be in the way of all the humans.

Talia was going to respond to the regimental officer until the Inquisitors mental protrusions slithered into her mind with a warning: "Jedi".

Was it true? She had felt something earlier, and had been disappointed to uncover its "source" to be a crazy saboteur. But perhaps that was part of the Jedi's plan, to deflect her perceptions onto something that could have a seen her blasted into a million atoms instead.

Still, it wouldn't be like the Inquisitor to lie over such a matter; the sniffing out and apprehension of the Jedi were the entire reason for their existence.

Talia's telepathic response was simple: 'Where?'

-> Insert Kru's Response Here, which, presumably contains the Jedi's last-known destination <-

Looking like she was listening to the officer, but in truth more preoccupied with her own thoughts, Talia nodded once he had finished addressing her on the situation. If she possessed any prejudice towards Dekki in accordance with the officers gesture, she didn't show it.

"Very good; continue as planned. But I..." the Moff's words trailed off as she seemed to peer into space; her eyes sweeping around the interior of the landing bay in search of some unseen entity that only she could see.

"I need to rendezvous with Inquisitor Kru. I trust you with further operations, *insert rank here*; but I'll need one a squad and a transport to the ruins in the Northwest."

Moff Vesa: Colonel Barg salutes. "Yes, M'lady. Shuttle enroute." After a quick whisper to one of the troopers nearby, one of the lambdas in formation waiting for the Okhrana breaks off formation outside, glides into the docking bay, and drops its entrance ramp.

Commander Arard: You hear the problem before you see it - the sound of a fist smashing into a viewplate in one of the staff bays. An intense young ensign stands and walks up to you. Ensign - Balfur, his nameplate reads - stands in front of you, seething. "M'lord, she's done it again. The Moff has ordered the 502nd to break off one of its lambdas to take her down to site D - that mining complex - on the surface. We don't have any fighters to scramble to escort the shuttle except by uncovering the capital, the speeders, or the civilian station. We still can't account for those missing rebel fighters that went to the civilian station, and we have no idea what the air defense threat on the mine is. Even if we cancel all the personnel recovery flights and delay all the troop launches, a fighter launch from here won't reach her until she hits SHORAD* range from the ground." Shortly after, you get an urgent message from the Okhrana.

Dekki: As the Moff turns around, you see the commander standing in front of you, silent. After about four breaths, he shakes his head and states: "Get me a line to the CAG back on the Panthac. And get moving. Back to plan A - we're off to the station." And then he walks back into the command vehicle.

Commander Arard: The face of the 502nd commander appears on the vid plate. "Sir. Moff requisitioned one of my shuttles to go down to the surface. I'm down to the Okhrana and two lambdas, which means I can't cover all four main docking bays on the civilian station simultaneously. Plus, the Moff's going off on her own. Unless otherwise directed I will continue mission and leave one of the docking bays empty. We're moving out now."

SHORAD: Short range air defense. In this case, shoulder fired proton torpedoes and AA guns - the kind of stuff that can be easily concealed and moved, and that you can't readily identify or track from orbit.

Bottom line, the ensign is saying that you can't escort the Moff's shuttle unless you cancel one of your ongoing fighter missions and divert resources.

robnar
2017-11-13, 03:18 PM
Time synchronization: 13 minutes pass between this and the last post. In that time, you got to launch all of the rest of your shuttles. You have another follow up flight of stormtroopers enroute to the ground settlement, another enroute to the military station with engineer support, and another following on to the civilian station. Two other flights of lambdas are returning, one with prisoners from the ground settlement and another empty from the military settlement.

Inquisitor Kru- You take off with the SPECNAV team and proceed to the mine. It's a quick trip, maybe twenty minutes. On the way, another lambda pulls into formation, and the pilot reports "m'lord, the moff's shuttle is with us now with a platoon of stormies." As you approach the mine site, and the blue flickers of the environmental shield around it, you see Gamma's shuttle circling. The gamma commander comes up on the net next - "we've got teams around the perimeter and the bird on overwatch. You're covered on the way in. They've spotted us, and it looks like a couple of them are waiting to meet you at the landing site." You see a small group of unarmed humans and an Ithorian near one of the landing pads.

Moff Vesa - Your shuttle pulls in behind the sleeker SPECNAV theta and joins the approach. You see a similar tableau, including the welcoming committee, as you approach. The stormtrooper lieutenant deferentially mentions "we're on the approach, m'lady."

Dekki - As the Okhrana glides into the A-deck docking bay, you assemble near the stormtrooper commander. The main ramp starts dropping before the ship has even touched down, and stormtroopers are already moving out into the bay on either side. The group of you stride out towards the official party welcoming you. You see a group of humans and xenos in official looking robes, flanked on either side by two small platoon formations of dejected looking security guards.

The leader of the group, an elderly Duros, strides forward confidently. "Welcome to Iron Mountain station. We are willing to surrender to your authority in exchange for protection from rebel retribution and restoration of subsistence shipments. Our guards are unarmed and ordered to render any assistance requested, short of lethal force, to uniformed imperial personnel."

Admiral Halcoor & Commander Arard: By the time the Okhrana lands at the civilian station, most of the orbital traffic is done. The lambdas are moving steadily, conveying troops in order. The rescue squadron has policed up most of the still-living crews, and you've got about 800 survivors of the battle on board, in various cells and open storage bays.

In addition, you've captured four medium transports - a hospital ship, a maintenance ship, and two ordnance transports. You've put prize crews on each and transferred the crews to the Panthac. The 502nd liaison reports that the fifth, and last ship, is about to breached and boarded.

BOOM! As she reports this, an enormous noise and physical shock jolts the ship. The Panthac violently slews to the left, knocking over the 502nd liason and momentarily flickering the lights on the bridge. Your experience tells you an explosion.

Good, knowing the Moff she'll want to handle this personally.

Rol will bring Alpha and the other squads up to date about rebels storing cases in mines as well as any pertinent tactical information he gathered.

"Be careful as the rebels will have local knowledge and preparation on their side. Once we land Alpha your priority will be securing the area for the Moff. The stormies will do their best but you're better. Your professionals but I want eyes everywhere.

Our Lady and I will have a discussion with those on the landing pad. It could be nothing but these could also be force users like myself. Do not underestimate them."

Once Rol gives that brief instruction he let's commander kano take over. The teams were well trained professionals. They didn't need him nagging them about how to do their jobs. He's job as he saw it was to try and point them and let them do the best they knew how.

After that discussion Rol will clear his head for the coming encounter.

"All compartments, damage report!"

Admiral Halcoor - The bridge crew is well drilled. Within seconds, various displays start popping up on your screen. Within a few more seconds, the watch lieutenant starts confirming your initial impression: "Ma'am. Boarding team is lost. Structural damage across the forward port side engineering and turbolifts. Blast penetrated into one of the potable water bays and we are currently losing water. Two engineering teams in the area have not sent accountability reports yet; may be up to 50 more casualties. No combat effects aside from shield degradation."

Inquisitor Kru - The SPECNAV theta guides in low and drops the doors in mid flight. The space troopers, as usual, jump out first and fan out, followed by the rest of their fireteams. You drop out right behind them with the command team, and start surveying the 'welcome crew.' As you do, the theta takes off above you, circling above the crowd along with Alpha's shuttle. They look like workers, not rebels - no visible weapons. They also look white-collar - they are humans, unlike the teeming insect-like Mustafarans lollygagging about the site. In fact, most of the weapons you see are in tough-looking foremen in company uniforms spread about the site, whose attention seems mostly focused on the Mustafarans.

Moff Vesa - Your lambda lands at a more stately pace, and drops its ramp. The stormtroopers form up in squads to either side of you, but don't seem to be well drilled for this. You hear their lieutenant muttering frantically into his commlink as you step towards the crowd at the edge. As you reach the crowd, one of the humans bows and says "M'lady! We are extremely grateful to see, finally, a representative of the true authority in the galaxy!"

Dekki's datapad vibrates slightly and he pulls it out to look over the report. He visibly twitched at the causalities just caused but didn't say anything immediately, tapping away as he attempted to direct the medic crews toward the destinations they're already heading to as well as a request for updates on what happened. Then he seemed to remember where he was and turned it off, leaving it by his side, and said somewhat sheepishly "Sorry about that." He then motioned to the commander* and seemed to compose himself a bit more, adding "Commander, will you require my aid further or shall I inspect their own injured?" *It sounds like the Moff isn't here with us. With that assumption I'll default to the Commander of the 502nd.

If she is standing right there then of course she'll be in charge.

Talia moved down the descent ramp, un-ignited lightsaber in her right hand, with her green eyes sweeping across the gathered crowd befoer her. IT wasn't partiucularly sizeable, a few dozen at most, but by the joyous looks on their faces and eagerness to receive her, it was clear they were happy.

This wasn't the first time that Talia had been received by cheering crowds. After liberating her home sector and freeing her subjects, she had been one of the most celebrated freedom fighters of the kingdom. And when she shoved the survivors of their reptilian oppressors into camps to live out the remaining days of their short lives, she was held up as an example of both freedom and justice.

"M'lady! We are extremely grateful to see, finally, a representative of the true authority in the galaxy!"

Talia came to a halt before the crowd, easily within arms reach of a group of strangers - such was her confidence. The burn marks and scars on her armor spoke of surviving worse.

Offering a smile, Talia asked "is this everyone?" as she swept her gaze across the crowd one final time, her mind wondering to the presence of the Jedi who's presence Kru had detected.

You don't sense any Jedi.

Dekki - The station leader, the Duros, says - "we don't have any injured. I assume all of the survivors of your attack were on the ships you sent out. You ordered us not to pick any of them up."

The 502nd commander cuts him off, rudely - "You will speak when spoken to, xeno. The doctor addressed me." To you, he says: "Do what you want." Then, the commander turns back to the station leadership: "These are our terms. Your men will surrender all weapons to my crew and then separate into squads of four under the command of my officers. My headquarters will occupy the station command center. You will accompany me, and announce to the station your surrender to imperial forces and a general curfew to quarters for the next 24 hours. I will occupy the station under martial law until further notice. All personnel on this station are expected to comply instantly with any imperial request. Any resistance these demands will be met with immediate and deadly force."

The station leaders - in fact, everyone in earshot - register shock across their faces at the commander's terms. But, the rotary blaster cannons on the Okhrana's ramps seem to cut off too much dissent. The Duros leader stands, flabbergasted, for a moment...

Moff Vesa - The human spokesman, an enthusiastic looking, balding, plump man with a neatly pressed and immaculate set of working overalls, says "We've captured the four rebels in the camp brig. Those bastards won't be expropriating CONHUGECO any time soon. We'll turn them over to you immediately! We've got some great ideas for improving production and profitability!"

Talia smiles - the broad, bright smile of a winner and a leader. It was a grin she'd practised many times and had delivered just as many, for any good freedom fighter knew that image was everything.

"Good - and I look forward to hearing them," Talia responded, her right hand held out and clasping that of the administrator - his hand grasping her forearm and hers holding his. Wonderful PR.

When the revelry had died down to a level permissible, Talia turned her head towards Inquisitor Kru, her words coming quietly but distinct above the crowd for him to here: "where is he?"

It was obvious who she meant.

Dekki seems to twitch at the word xeno but remains stoic and waits until the commander stops talking. He gently clears his throat and shifts his position before he waves his hand in the general direction of the station leadership. His voice is collected as he speaks to them as a collective. "I encourage you all to accept the terms offered. I will do everything in my power to insure that the transfer is as painless as possible, of course. After all, there is no need to add injuries when they can be avoided."

Might as well throw in a Mind Trick for the fun of it.
Using Channel Vitality to gain a temporary force point, moving down a step on the condition track.
Using temporary Force Point with Improved Mind Trick and target a 12 square cone and making sure I get the Duro at the very least.
Use the Force Check vs Will Defense: [roll0]

The Mind Trick is to make the surrender terms sound entirely reasonable.
The next round will be followed by Channel Vitality and Equilibrium just to get rid of the condition track business.

Dekki - the station administrator blinks, and stammers... "well, then I think we must do that. We must accept your terms. May you use your new power wisely." Turning to the station security chief, he says "have your men disarm. We cannot fight here." There is an audible groan from among the ranks of the security force as the word gets passed down, and the lieutenants turn to their platoons and order "stack arms!"

The stormtrooper commander leaves with the official party, and the company commanders start working, dispersing the surrendered troops among their men. A few minutes later, you hear the ominous pronouncements over the station speakers as the station leaders describe the terms of martial law.

Moff Vesa - As the executive agrees, he starts to introduce you to the other corporate executives on the platform. In your peripheral vision, you see the foremen turn to their laborers and start berating them back into action. It seems that the rebels had tried to reform the labor codes for the Mustafaran workers, leading to widespread resentment among the management. The managers are ebullient that you might bring them back to business as usual, and report that some of the other mines will be as well.

As for the rebels, they are in the punishment block for delinquent workers. There are three technicians and some kind of archaeologist, the latter a Cerean scholar who dressed distinctively. The managers said they requisitioned heavy equipment, and have been removing artifacts from the site of Darth Vader's old sanctuary.

Rol approaches Vesa coming along side her. "Milady, if our reports are to be believed the Cerean could be my prey. With your permission I would go and interigate these rebels. They could have valueable intel regarding the resistence here as well. Reports have come in that the rebels have weapons caches in several mines which could include this one."

Rol makes a hand gesture to the SpecNav communitcating that they should start making their way towards the detention block.

can we say that Rol updated fleet with intel that he received? I can do a post about it but I'm frankly exhausted.

The admiral appeared to have issues well in hand with the explosion, though there would come a time when his action would likely be called for. In the mean time Jen takes a moment to send out SITREP requests to all currently deployed fighter squadrons and shuttle crews. Turning back to the waiting ensign, and completly ignoring the well ordered chaos of the bridge crew, Jen nods once. "Well Blafur, the situation seems in order for now. Open a channel with the commander of the Okharan and request an update. Please monitor and catalog any other requests from the Moff, then direct the list to me."

He waves the young ensign back to his console, then returns to his own, queuing up some orders as he does so. "Knife 1-1, report. New orders. Keep 2-6 and his wing in position at the civilian station. I want you to get eyes on the military outpost. Check for any life signs or emergency beacons around that hull crack. If any positives appear, report. Otherwise, return to the civilian station and resume your previous duties."

Rol turns to his Moff knowing full well whom she meant.
