Credit to Samduke for showing the WBL table in the DMG pg209 that goes up to 40th.

That however has an error:

So I fixed it, and found an interesting formula, which i extrapolated to level 155

Can I invest that all into a single item and have that be my character?

Seriously, once you get up into those levels, wealth of that sort should be almost pathetically irrelevant. Whoever heard of a god with a bank account?

I like it, but ... does paying the monsters to simply go away still net me xp?

;D

Well XP is about overcoming challenges not about killing monsters, even if you payed them you overcame that challenge so you would. Now I want make an epic level character who became epic just by paying monsters to piss off and has never fought in his life yet is the most powerful humanoid.

I don't have the ELH in front of me. Is this ripped from there or did you actually find the formula?

Somehow, 150 million gold seems small for someone with 110 levels.

Methinks he found/calculated the formula. I don't have the MIC in front of me, so I can't really check his work...

Ditto these.

Also, WBl for this level is 11,100,000 gp.

I extrapolated the table from the MiC.

Someone pointed out that the DMG has a table to 40th level, which has a decremental formula, which I updated mine with. So it's a rip, and then an extrapolation.

I changed it, now a level 110 gets: 10,987,788,224,936,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000

I think that is 10 Undecillion

The chart looks a lot more believable now than it did before.

Fantasy Fortune magazine is asking characters to submit their current net worth in order to be considered for inclusion in this year's top 100 richest Epic PCs...but I am having trouble figuring out the conversion for some of my assets. Does anyone know the best method to calculate the market value of three worlds, a demiplane, and a dozen pocket dimensions?

What was the formula?

I'm not great with math, but I'm fine with Excel.

Basically, I plugged in the amounts, and then found the difference between levels. Did that again, and found the increment only changed by a static number every 3 levels. In this instance 10k at levels 26, 29, ad 32.

This then doubled, AND the spread changed from 9 to 6. (levels 35, 37, and 39)

So following that sequence, the spread changed from 6 to 3 (with another double), and then it doubled in a spread of 1. (level 44)

From there I calculated how many factors I should multiply each level by, with formula based off a .33/3 for each level. =ROUNDDOWN((1-K26)/0.33,0) k26 being the .33 at first, and then .11, and so on. (basically ended up a multiplier of 3 for each level after level 49. So at each level from 49th onwards, the amount it increased by was multiplied by 3.

I'm sure thats as clear as mud.

No, that's very clear. And that also suggests that your initial claim about being not great with math but fine with Excel isn't accurate; you just are used to doing math using Excel.

Really, being good at math almost always means knowing what software to make do the math for you anyway.

Correct. Probably rounded up to 11 undecillion, since that's literally a gain of .1% over the actual value.

Makes me wonder how many Earth masses that pile of platinum pieces would be.

Edit: Well, I don't know about platinum, but at 50 gp = 454 grams, 11 undecillion gp = over 50,000 solar masses, meaning you've got a supermassive black hole. Impressive.

Well then seemingly at level 110 even a commoner is relevant in combat because I'm pretty sure its hard to beat a supermassive blackhole in raw destructive power without pun pun like crap.

That's only a black hole if the radius is small enough. With 50,000 solar masses that's a Schwarzschild radius of around 10,000 km, so as long as you keep it reasonably spread out to start with you are fine.

Edit: Also, in practice most of one's wealth would probably be in non-platinum coins, like hyperexpensive but very small magic items.

If you actually equip a 40th level character per the chart in the book, you still don't actually have enough gold to just go get one of everything from the ELH.

Which is fine, 'cause the vast majority of the ELH items are pretty lame, severely overpriced for what they do, or both. You do however have more than enough money to go buy one of virtually every non-Epic item, which will probably work out stronger in the end (even with the extra surcharges for cramming things into combined slots or custom slotless items.) The only Epic things you really need, IMO, is a suitably high base bonused weapon if you're a hitting-things type, a +whateveryoucanafford item for your main stat and Con (Epic Spellcasting does this soooo much better if it's in play, mind) and several rods of Excellent Magic to sub for XP costs for Epic Spells. I suppose an Epic Cloak of Resistance at whatever level is left over would also be a good idea, but really you just want to be immune to everything that matters at that point rather than risk rolling saves at all.
