Episode 1 (A magical meeting) Scene 1

It's Late August. You are finally getting into the dorms on campus for orientation day. For once the mists in Littlebrook are being pierced by the midday sun.

Oh wait that's the gorgeous girl, waving her arms in a circular motion above her head. Dyed blue hair, a bit over 5 and a half feet tall.

I refuse to go to college in this Silent hill crap. You hear the most beautiful voice let out.

You hear the RA, a pretty, short blonde clap at this.

"And this students, is Maya Wells. She won a grant from our local biotech company New Horizons. As some of you may have guessed from the fog going away, she's a sorceress.

Legally I have to say what comes next. But I really hope you would all know better." She pauses looks at her notes, then lifts her pretty head back up.

"If you bully her, you'll be eligible for a Darwin award. And the College is not responsible for what will happen to you." She replies deadpan

"But remember if you have any questions, please feel free to ask me" She returns to her bright wide smile.

But you. You have to get her attention.

How do you intend to go about it.

Leaning against the wall of the dorm is a tall, leggy blonde girl. She is wearing the scarlet uniform jacket from what looks like some real preppy private school. Her skirt is a plaid with colors that match the jacket. And she is wearing a set of black tights that accentuate her thighs and calves, as they run down and into her shoes, which is about the only thing she is wearing that looks semi comfortable.

But the jacket is unbuttoned, and reveals her shirt underneath, which she has untucked and tied off just under her breasts. The skirt is only an inch or so past what could really be considered indecent, and is well short of what any sane person could call decent. And the tights are torn in strategic locations to expose what looks like actual tattoos under the opaque material. She takes a long drag off her cigarette and then goes back to what she was doing.

Namely, looking at other students and then drawing the top card off a deck of cards. She would look at the card, then smile to herself, or frown. Occasionally a small laugh.

Then she sees the blue haired sorceress approaching. Taking another drag off the cigarette, Brooklyn Hall, shuffles her tarot cards again, but this time, she squats down so she can do a different kind of reading. She lays out three cards, and flips them over, muttering to herself as she does so.

"They... conflict? They cancel each other out, but leave things open for happiness and sorrow both. Disaster and celebration both, but all tinged with sadness. Interesting. I have to get to know her."

Picking up her tarot cards, she shuffles them back together.

Standing near the edge of the crowd is a pale, slightly chubby young woman with slightly odd features and piercing blue eyes. She is wearing a modest brown dress with embroidered squids on it. She clearly thinks it is too warm and is squinting at the unaccustomed brightness.

But... that girl! For her, I'd get used to sunglasses! Sawa Shicchi sighs inaudibly...

As the fog clears, you can see a woman of average height fussing over one of the students. Her age is hard to place, but she's got a kind look to her, and is dressed in a moderate outfit. "Daryl, you've got to tuck your shirt in!" she says. "And stand up straight, please. Plus, didn't your mother and I talk about dressing up nice for college? And where is the lunch that was packed?"

Daryl, seemingly used to this, sighs. "It's okay, Fran-I want to make my own way in college, you know? Not rely on you and my mom so much."

"Come on, you know we care about-"

"Fran. I'm fine. Go," Daryl says.

Fran, looking back to the RA and seeing her **** her eyebrow, lets go of Daryl's shirt. "Alright. If you insist... But don't be afraid to call me if you need any help, okay?" She steps back, and Daryl hurries off into the building. She turns to face the RA, and says "He's a good kid. Though he can be real stubborn at times-so, um, if he gets into an argument with a professor, don't hold it against him too much, okay? I don't want you to think badly of him just because he stands his ground in class-even if he's wrong about whatever he's arguing. Lord knows I spent a lot of time trying to argue with him-like a brick wall, really."

In the midst of the group of new students the RA was showing around was a small circle of friends that included one particular girl who stood out from the crowd. A lot of her physical features were, at least currently, fairly average, but it would be hard not to notice the silky-soft looking harem outfit she was wearing, with slightly baggy pants and a top that was little more than a bra. The amount of jewelry she was wearing, which included a pair of large earrings, bracelets, and several rings, all seemingly made of gold, certainly didn't do anything to make her less conspicuous, either. Sophia was well aware that a decent number of the people around them who didn't already know her were eying her half of the time, many probably wondering if she was just weird, or was actually, as would be the most likely reason for her to dress like that, a Genie. She didn't mind, though - it was kind of fun that people noticed her that quickly wherever she went.

She noticed when the fog started to clear almost immediately - she kind of hated it, and had been keeping some minor wind magic swirling around her all day to keep the moisture from it from affecting her clothes or hair too much, which at least had the side-effect of keeping her long ponytail blowing a bit to one side of her head. And when the RA pointed out who had gotten rid of it, she was a little awestruck at the other girl. Wow, she's gorgeous, magical, and she hates this fog too? Oh, I've got to get to know her.

First, though, she quickly shifted her hair to purple, and the color of her outfit to red - the better to get the attention of one of her friends, who had a thing for an old video game character who looked like that. "Hey, Tony?" she said, interrupting the conversation he and another of their friends, Danielle, had been having. "Can you remember to ask the RA if there's any special rules about magic use in the dorms for me? I think I'm going to go introduce myself to miss Fire Emblem protagonist over there." As the Genie girl flitted off, one of the other girls in the group could be heard say dryly, "Well, that didn't take long."

As she flew over meet the sorceress, Sophia snapped her fingers and conjured up a comically oversized fan in one hand, which she feigned using to help blow the fog away with her wind magic. Which, inadvertently, wound up pushing back someone else from the group who had also been going to talk to the sorceress after the RA's remarks. "Nice work!" she said to the other girl with a smile. "I've been wanting to do that all day, but I can't get nearly enough wind going to get rid of all of it on my own. You're good."

Think I'm going to try to start things off with a bang. Hypercharged! Allure and Skill.

Unfortunately for Sawa the crowd manages to block her off from the blue haired woman, eventually some other girl seems to take Sawa's rapid looking around as a sign she needs help.

With that, she makes one last rotation before her arms settle down.

"That really wouldn't be my place to deal with. As long as he doesn't get into a fight with a student, or start trashing his dorm I could lose my job if I intervene too much." The pretty blonde replies, before pulling you close.

"Please tell me, he isn't dumb enough to argue with a sorceress." She whispers in your ear, fear trembling in her voice. "From what I've been told Maya's particularly strong among them, Our recruiters heard whispers of her brutalizing people, and forcing women to date her. DON'T MESS WITH HER." She says digging into your robotic arm with her nails.

That's when a young man pops up.

"Hey, um Miss. Do you... is there any rules about magic rules in the dorms?" He asks, to which the RA's eyes flick to Maya before asking.

"Um. No, not really. I mean don't break stuff or hurt people, but besides that magic use is fine. We have a plant nymph senior that always turns her dorm into a freaking greenhouse."

She puts her cards away as she starts walking with Maya.

"Sides. It won't be the cancer that does me in, she says as she pulls out her pack of cigarettes.

"Water magic's not one of my talents - well, unless I'm granting a wish, anyway, in which case, you know," she says while flexing one arm, which momentarily turns heavily muscled like that of a bodybuilder, only to return to normal when she stopped flexing a second later. "But if it's anything like my wind magic, that doesn't sound easy. I mean, giving things a big or little push is one thing, but controlling the natural winds down to a small scale like that... well, I still have trouble steadying the winds around me when I'm flying sometimes, especially if I try to go much higher than a two-story building, and my dad's been helping me with that since I was twelve."

Um..... So this is embarrassing, but I don't have a lighter on me, and I never had the opportunity to learn fire magic before.... Maya looks at the ground sheepishly, tapping her foot

Oh, that really depends on the sorcerer. Some of them struggle with the detail sort of stuff. But just in case, let's go find those angels, huh?" she jokes.

It is at overhearing this, the RA nervously approaches and puts her knees on the ground holding up a small bic lighter like a gift to a goddess.

"Please, Maya. Please accept this humble offering." She starts, to which Maya looks at you, (and the other girls) very confused.

Brooklyn pulls out her cards. She gives them a shuffle, then asks the RA to cut the cards and flip the top one over.

Inverted Heirophant. This one is destined to serve, never to lead. Though it should be said that servitude has its own rewards, and we should never forget the greatest leader of all was himself a self declared servant to all.

Brooklyn pats the RA on the head like a puppy. "But, seriously. Next time, get yourself a Zippo, learn a few tricks. Impress someone."

"But with the winds it's different... I dunno, maybe it's something that doesn't translate between Genie magic and sorcerer magic. I've never met a sorcerer before to compare."

The RA turns to Maya for her impression, who shrugs in complete confusion.

"Yeah, I guess. Get a zippo, have fun? She remarks, to which the RA immediately jumps to her feet. "Right away!" She beams manically, starting to rush off.

Um....but uh... the tour...... Maya raises a finger.
Sophia just gives a blank, flabbergasted look at the RA's behavior. "Uh... being an RA is a job, right? I mean, I get getting excited about something and going all tunnel vision on it, I certainly do that sometimes, but... when you're at your job?"


At the second part as the RA runs off without answering the question, Maya just sighs.

Honestly, while her reaction is a bit....extreme. She admits. I did have to wonder how many of my "friends" in high school were just too terrified to tell me to go **** off. She swears casually.
"Really? That's what worries you? I mean, if they were scared, I'd think they'd just avoid you, not pretend to be friends. Morrigan was only half-paying attention the vampiress as the group walked around campus, her gaze sweeping around to look at everything as they explored. Not because she was taking in all the sights, but because she was waiting for something to go terribly, horribly wrong. Because it always did. Nobody ever believed it could be as bad as it got, when she told them. The school administrators had access to her medical and academic history, and they still didn't believe it wasn't a fluke. Well, Morrigan wasn't gonna get caught off-guard just because there was a super-cute girl.

And then she saw it.

A brief glimpse between dorms gave her an unobstructed view of the horizon; while the area around the college was a nice sunny day (courtesy of Maya), there was an enormous thunderstorm passing by just a dozen miles south of the college. Morrigan glance around, and winced when she saw the water tower next to the administration building. She nudged Maya, while reaching into her pack for an umbrella (resealing the pack after). "Hey, are you capable of making it rain? Asking for multiple reasons."

Before she could answer, it happened, more or less as Morrigan had expected: the tower was struck by lightning once, twice, three times, each on a support beam on the wrong side. These bolts from the blue were particularly long-lasting, enough so that where normally the structure could maybe have survived such a terrible fate, now the support beams were blasted away enough for it to come crashing down. Thankfully nobody was caught underneath it, but the street was damaged and the metal dam burst, unleashing an absolute torrent of water down on those nearby. by the time it reached the tour group, the little wave was knee-high at best.

Morrigan opened her umbrella, ready to protect against anything splashing up. It worked the first time, when the water hit a curb and splashed directly towards her (and noone else), but then the knee-high water hit the building behind her and splashed back onto her (and again, noone else). She giggled a bit at the absurdity, before starting to wring out her hair. "...so yeah, about rain?" Morrigan was already preparing a solid argument that she should room with the sorceress, mostly focused around getting the college to make sure that stuff going this catastrophically wrong didn't drown some less capable person.

Sophia looked surprised at the question for a second, before tapping herself on the head with her fist and pointing to her dunce cap. "Oh, right, you weren't here when I said that to Maya. Yep! Totally am," she said, taking the dunce cap off in a dramatic bow before returning it to her head. "Sophia Sterling, Genie and musical theater major. Not at your service, but I hope we can be friends anyway," she said with a smile.

A short while later, as Abigail is giving their group the tour, Sophia's appearance has changed yet again. Her outfit has gone from Shantae red to Jasmine blue, and she's added a semi-transparent silk veil over the more traditional top. Her hair, while still just as long, has gone from platinum-blonde ponytail to black and braided. Her earrings have been traded for a heavy gold necklace with a crescent moon hanging from it. Perhaps the one thing she hasn't changed, probably much to most people's confusion, is the dunce cap, which she's still wearing. Or at least, hasn't changed much - she did add a silky blue streamer to the top, turning it into a weird dunce cap/medieval princess hat hybrid. Because why not?

She spent most of the tour torn between knowing she should listen to Abigail and wanting to talk to Maya. They seemed to get along pretty well, and the sorceress seemed like she'd be a lot of fun to hang out with - and as much as she liked her existing friends, what was college about if not meeting new people and trying new things? But the other girl seemed to be paying attention to the tour, and Sophia knew she should to, so she stayed quiet.

When Abigail offhanded mentions the admin office making room assignments, Sophia perks up quickly. She hadn't even thought about that, but now that she had, she was very curious to know who would be her roommate - and especially if it might happen to be Maya. "Um, Abigail? Where did you say the admin office was?" she asked innocently.

And after Abigail told her where to look, she was off like the wind - probably over the vampiress' objections, not that she actually heard them if they happened. And as she approached the office, she thought of one thing she could do that might help her be lucky enough to actually get assigned as Maya's roommate. She looked down at the sapphire ring she wore - her real "lamp," hiding in plain sight among the rest of her jewelry. It wasn't quite like when other people used the ring to make her grant their wishes, but she could get the thing to use its magic for her every once in a while. She kind of hated the side-effect of it, but if it worked... well, she had only one shot at this for the whole year, so maybe that was worth it. She touched the ring, and in a hushed tone, whispered, "Please let them have picked me to be Maya's roommate."

And then she barged into the admin room, not caring that she probably wasn't allowed in there, and immediately started asking whoever was around, "This is where room assignments are made right? Have you made mine yet? Can I see? I'm super curious who I'm rooming with!" Not noticing as she did that her ring slipped off her finger and vanished before hitting the ground...

Did not think I'd be using Magic Lamp nearly this early, and honestly it's probably a bad call strategically since I haven't used my second Hypercharged and Carry My Books? yet, but after Sophia hit it off with Maya last scene, with this one offering the bonus reward of being her roommate, it feels like entirely too natural place for her to pull this out.

Brooklyn skips the tour. She can figure everything out herself. Its not like she won't have time, or folks to help her if and when she needs it.

And she supposes. The nuns and the bishop may have been right. God's will might have something to do with it too, but then again, f*** him. He didn't really want to be around to make **** easier for one of his 'prophets' so why should she start caring now?

But when it comes to Maya, it is Brooklyn's will that they have to deal with.

She walks into the admin building, picks a door, and bangs through it.

Now, listen to me. Maya is incredibly special. I have seen it, she taps her eyes.

And I have seen it. She taps the space between and just above her eyes.

I have touched upon something in her, and I will not see more pain heaped upon her. So here is what we are going to do. You will assign me as her roommate, and I will make sure she is taken care of. And that, I think, will be best for everyone.

Fran sticks close to the vampiress, asking various questions. She makes sure she'll know where her charges are, just in case they need her help.

Yeah, I can make rain.... Maya says her eyes go wide, as they lift to the sky. Move! She shoves you effortlessly but with surprising grace as three bricks from the building come down, they would have impacted Morrigan, but instead impact Maya. One cracks against her shoulder, another the ankle, and the last directly on the top of her head Where most people would have been crippled or killed, you're pretty sure the falling bricks failed to bruise or draw ANY blood.

And a sapphire blue ring falls into Morrigan's lap. Unnoticed.

Oh this is great, thank you thankyouthankyou!" she says rapidly. She conjures up a plate of cupcakes on the secretary's desk as a show of appreciation - though like everything else she creates without a wish being made, it'll disappear once she gets too far from it. But she's not really thinking about that, any more than she's thought about the fact that the secretary she's thanking probably wasn't the one who made the decision.

She flies off out of the room to get back to the group and tell Maya.

I'm going to assume that the conversation with Morrigan and Sawa thus far happened before Sophia got back, since that both makes sense given she was away when this happened, and makes Sophia's reaction here easier to handle.

Did the Hulk stop by and just knock over the water tower before leaving?" she asked, briefly turning her skin green like the Hulk's as she mentioned him.

That's must be so many miles away, how could lightning could travel that far? Unless a sorcerer was throwing it maybe, but what would - well, hang on," she says, and a small telescope appears appears in her hand, which she proceeds to point at the distant storm - and which extends several times as she does, even though it doesn't look like it was designed to. "Yeah, I'm not seeing anything that looks like it might be a sorcerer over there, just a big old storm. Oh, wait a second... no, nevermind, false alarm, just some dummy who thinks flying a drone in that mess is a good idea."

Sophia blinks and looks back and forth between the distant thunderstorm and the fallen water tower. "...seriously? But... how? That's must be so many miles away, how could lightning could travel that far? Unless a sorcerer was throwing it maybe, but what would - well, hang on," she says, and a small telescope appears appears in her hand, which she proceeds to point at the distant storm - and which extends several times as she does, even though it doesn't look like it was designed to. So I ran off to that admin office she mentioned and asked, and guess what?" Sophie is visibly excited at this point, and doesn't even wait for Maya to respond with a "what?" of her own. "It turns out it's you! We're going to be roommates!"

"And did you even stretch before you ran off like that? Never a good idea to do that much exertion without stretching properly first, you might've pulled something and just not know it yet because of adrenaline. Might be a good idea to go see the school nurse, just in case. And, ah, maybe think about asking if the school has a therapist you could talk to too, you seem really stressed out, and they can do wonders for that. Trust me, one of my friends back in High School would've had a heart attack during finals every year without his therapist to talk to, totally swears by them."

Brooklyn wanders around for a while, seeing the sights, acquainting herself with decent spots to just hang out for a smoke. And she is doing just that as the tour catches up o where she is. And she sees a young man talking to Maya. She knew what the cards had told her when she wandered off earlier, and now the time had come.

He was just reaching out to touch her shoulder, and that is when Brooklyn lets fly with the one thing she had to hand, one of the hymnals she stole when she was fleeing the church. She watches her follow through, and has the pleasure of seeing the book fly straight and true, striking him right in the face before his hand could reach Maya. In a moment of comedic effect, it knocks him over, and the book tips over and falls with a soft thud onto the ground next to him.

And then Brooklyn strolls up and retrieves her book, giving the boy a good look at the girl dressed in the Catholic school uniform who threw a book with such lethal accuracy.

Now. I get it. You want the gorgeous girl at your party. I get it. I want her at my parties too. She would be such wonderful company. And she is hot, too. But... she is also a sorceress. And I want to know that you aren't inviting her to your party just so that you have a scapegoat for if something goes terribly wrong. Because that would upset her. And when she is upset, I get angry. And when I get angry, i throw books. As you just found out.

So, tell me. Do we have a problem?

Sophia was about to rush over to Maya and the guy she was talking to in curious excitement at the prospect of a party, when all of the sudden - and thankfully out of sight of the others, who were focused on that situation - she vanished.

She reappeared, her legs now vanished into the stereotypical Genie whispy tail rising out her ring, to find herself... well, not that far off, actually, with one of the other girls who'd been around Maya. "Oh. Guess that was what did it after all, then," she said out loud to herself, before landing, returning her legs to normal, and addressing the surprised girl in front of her. "Oh, uh, hey, I've seen you around, but I don't think we've really been introduced? I'm Sophia." Becoming warier about anyone overhearing, she speaks much more softly for the rest of what she has to tell Morrigan. "And... well, don't let it get around, but that ring you've got? It's mine. My, well, 'lamp,'" she says, making air quotes as she does. "Not all of us Genies are bound to lamps, you see. I just like to say that mine is to make it harder for people to figure out. But don't get me wrong, you don't have three wishes coming in this case. It's... okay, so, I can actually use my ring to power up my magic - or, in this case, make myself luckier - if I really want to... but when I do, it falls off, and ends up with someone else, and then I have to, well, do as they ask for a little while. Don't ask how long, it's kind of inconsistent - never seems to be more than like, an hour tops, though. So, I can't do anything that takes so much magic that you'd need to be making a formal wish for it, but anything else I can do... well, for a little while at least, your wish is my command," she said, with a little bow and a wince.

While the others are talking, various noises are going on in the background - chains snapping, people screaming, cars honking, tires screeching. Morrigan enters stage left, precariously balancing on a loosed wrecking ball. She's so focused on not falling off that she doesn't see it about to bowl Maya over. It hits the sorceress and stops dead in its tracks, with momentum sending Morrigan flying into a puddle left over from the water tower destruction. She stands carefully while dusting herself off, little the worse for wear. "Did I hear something about a party?" she asks, before noticing some scrapes and digging into her backpack for some medical supplies. "I've never actually been to one."

"I mean, for good reason, though," she adds, as her fingers brush the ring still hidden safely in her pack.

"D-Don't Hurt Me!"

Explanation is that things are so obviously going wrong around her that it scares the guy into thinking she might attend and make everything go wrong, and he tries to make that not happen. So the worse things get for her in this brief introduction, the scarier it is.

"I don't wanna be a burden, but...Maya looks like she wants to go, but she's probably going to drag me along if she goes. I want to go...but only if it's safe, only if it's not gonna suck for everyone else around me. Does that work as a wish?"

Brooklyn wanders around for a while, seeing the sights, acquainting herself with decent spots to just hang out for a smoke. And she is doing just that as the tour catches up o where she is. And she sees a young man talking to Maya. She knew what the cards had told her when she wandered off earlier, and now the time had come.

He was just reaching out to touch her shoulder, and that is when Brooklyn lets fly with the one thing she had to hand, one of the hymnals she stole when she was fleeing the church. She watches her follow through, and has the pleasure of seeing the book fly straight and true, striking him right in the face before his hand could reach Maya. In a moment of comedic effect, it knocks him over, and the book tips over and falls with a soft thud onto the ground next to him.

And then Brooklyn strolls up and retrieves her book, giving the boy a good look at the girl dressed in the Catholic school uniform who threw a book with such lethal accuracy.

Now. I get it. You want the gorgeous girl at your party. I get it. I want her at my parties too. She would be such wonderful company. And she is hot, too. But... she is also a sorceress. And I want to know that you aren't inviting her to your party just so that you have a scapegoat for if something goes terribly wrong. Because that would upset her. And when she is upset, I get angry. And when I get angry, i throw books. As you just found out.

While the others are talking, various noises are going on in the background - chains snapping, people screaming, cars honking, tires screeching. Morrigan enters stage left, precariously balancing on a loosed wrecking ball. She's so focused on not falling off that she doesn't see it about to bowl Maya over. It hits the sorceress and stops dead in its tracks, with momentum sending Morrigan flying into a puddle left over from the water tower destruction. She stands carefully while dusting herself off, little the worse for wear. "Did I hear something about a party?" she asks, before noticing some scrapes and digging into her backpack for some medical supplies. "I've never actually been to one."

"I mean, for good reason, though," she adds, as her fingers brush the ring still hidden safely in her pack.

"D-Don't Hurt Me!"

Explanation is that things are so obviously going wrong around her that it scares the guy into thinking she might attend and make everything go wrong, and he tries to make that not happen. So the worse things get for her in this brief introduction, the scarier it is.

I was taking a side-alley and couldn't really dodge out of tue way so I tried to jump for one of those service ladders but a bolt came loose and I got dropped right on top. Then I was too busy not falling off to notice what happened, in case falling off would put me in the pancake zone again. I guess it kept rolling for a bit. And then it hit Maya."

She still didn't know Morrigan very well, and if she let the other girl have her ring for one wish, she was on the hook for three, and she was definitely not going to trust someone she just met with that. "Did your family ever get a full-blown sorcerer to check it out? Or just like, celestial healers or something?" she asked instead.

And with that it's a quiet night in. Maya invites you four, and your roommates in for a quiet night watching anime. She does do this, before asking Sophia if it's okay in an overeager moment of impropriety.

Oh and of course, Maya and Sophia's room is literally right next to the RA office/room. They seem to expect the RA to keep an eye on Maya. Any swapping will have to be done unofficially, though you expect the RA not to raise a fuss over having Maya further away.

A spy thriller whose tagline is. "It's so classified, you don't even have the clearance to hear the title." And then finally we've got The Last Spell. Which is a shonen wizard show.

And that is when she gets hit in the face by a pamphlet. A pamphlet about the elder gods, and humans and the balance between worlds?

Brooklyn puts out her cigarette, heads inside and goes to knock on the door.

Sophia had gotten set up in their dorm room pretty quickly - she actually didn't need to pack all that much, being a Genie and able to just conjure a lot of things that she needed, so she'd mostly brought food, since any of that that she conjured just vanished when it reached someone's stomach. Because for some reason Genies couldn't actually feed anyone without it being a wish; go figure. Once that was stored in the fridge and cupboards she set about decorating her part of the room, conjuring up colorful veils around the bed, some wind chimes, a hanging wicker chair, and posters of a few popular Succubus and Incubus actors. She'd have to replace all of it each time she came and went, of course, but that was easy enough.

The posters actually gave her a thought though - Maya had invited the other girls that had been hanging around her today over for an anime night, which had disappointed Sophia a bit since she'd been hoping for a night alone to just chat up the other girl and learn about her. She could use a way to stand out once the others arrived, and she recalled Maya mentioning that her first crush had been a succu-blooded girl. That in mind, she shifted her appearance: making her hips and especially bust larger, and shrinking her waist (though only a bit, since she'd already had it relatively thin), and making her lips just a little fuller. Her hair she let loose from the ponytail it had been in and switched it's color to black, and she made her clothes hug her now distinctly hourglass figure just a bit more. If the Succubus look was something Maya liked in a girl, this ought to help keep her attention tonight.

As the other girls started to arrive, Sophia was rapidly tiring of the RA's presence - and to judge by her reaction, Maya was too. Looking for any excuse to get the girl out of the room, Sophia leaned out their room's door to glance down the halls, and spots another girl struggling to carry a sizable amount of luggage up the stairs to the next floor alone; definitely more than she should be trying to handle by herself. With a short wave of her hand, she caused a strong wind to gust down those stairs, and the girl lost her grip on the luggage, leading to it falling back down the steps with a loud BANG. Sophia winced, pretending to have just had her attention drawn by the sound, and said, "Oh, uh, Miss Shawels, I think there's someone else over there who needs your help a lot more than we do right. That's an awful lot of luggage someone just dropped in the stairwell." When the RA, predictably, starts to object, still terrified of doing anything less than pleasing Maya constantly, Sophia summons a brief gust to help usher her out the door and spin her to see the situation. "Seriously, look, there's no way someone like her can handle all that on her own, and it's kind of an RA's job to assist residents in need, right? Go, go go!" she shoos her away. After closing the door, she remarks to Maya, "I really hope that keeps her for a while. We have got to find someone to trade rooms with tomorrow."

Once everyone has arrived and Maya started listing off their options, Sophia didn't even need to wait to hear beyond the first before interrupting with her vote: "Ooo, haven't heard of that one, but harem anime are always fun! I'm totally up for that."

Almost instinctively, she tries to roll onto her back and protect her head, although she only ends up on her side. The over-stuffed bags burst, and the drinks within (some soda and juice, but mostly water cuz Morrigan is a hydro homie) end up spilling all over her...and all over the surge protector. There's some smoke and brief dimming of the lights before she jolts back up, pushing herself back to standing. Her hair's all frazzled now from the sudden soaking and subsequent electrocution, she looks quite a sight.

She sets the remains of the bags down sheepishly and pulls out some cleaning supplies and some spare clothes from her backpack. "I'll get this dealt with real quick. Can I use your restroom?"

Morrigan invited Crystal. Morrigan doesn't have a personal preference on what to watch.

The idea here is that Blustery Hearts and The Last Spell got splashed and/or shocked as a result of the sudden chaos. If skill loses, it's because at least one of the others (the winner) could be repaired enough to use.

While Sophia enjoys that Maya is at least showing some interest, she's a little disappointed that her new shape wasn't getting Maya's full attention as she'd hoped. Though now she was really curious what it would take to do that.

Such thoughts were momentarily forgotten when dealing with Miss Shawels, though. "I don't know, if the rest of the dorms are like this one, we'd need to mount a chain lock on the wall or something to make that work. These doors aren't exactly designed for padlocks," Sophia answers Maya about the lock.

And then Morrigan arrived, followed not long after by Miss Shawels, who apparently hadn't taken as long as Sophia hoped helping the other girl with her luggage. Sophia was going to offer Morrigan her help, but Maya was quick on the case, and her healing and water magic were certainly more useful than anything the Genie girl could do anyway. So she instead mostly winds up listening to Brooklyn try to reason with Ms. Shawels... with little more luck than she'd had earlier, sadly.

At this, Sophia does finally interject, saying, "Well, you could start with treating Maya like a normal person. Most people kinda like when you do that, and while I just met her today too, she doesn't seem to be an exception. Might make things a lot less stressful for you. And us..." she mutters that last.


"No no." Crystal butts in between you and Maya. "I just wanna know what it's like? To feel the power rushing at your fingertips."

Ms.Shawel pales, and it's clear Crystal is not helping.
Since Crystal has so far been largely ignored, Sophia decides to chime in to hopefully answer her enough to get her to at least stop scaring the RA. "I dunno if it's different for a sorcerer, but for me at least, it's nothing like that. You don't feel a rush of power, or anything in particular. After a little while getting used to it when you first develop it, magic is just another thing you can do, like walking or talking. Like, I feel the wind when I use my wind magic, obviously, but the magic itself doesn't have a particular feeling to it."

"Oh, I can cover us on snacks, don't you worry," Sophia says, and with a snap of her fingers she has a big movie theater-style container of popcorn in one hand and a plate of cookies in the other. "And best part? I can't actually feed anyone without someone making a wish, so it'll all vanish when it hits your stomach. So you get to eat as much as you want, it all tastes normal, but no calories or weight gain to worry about!"

At this, Sophia does finally interject, saying, "Well, you could start with treating Maya like a normal person. Most people kinda like when you do that, and while I just met her today too, she doesn't seem to be an exception. Might make things a lot less stressful for you. And us..." she mutters that last.


"But she's not a normal person." Ms.Shawel replies, to which Maya rubs her eyes.

Just cause I don't have fantastic powers, doesn't make me not normal! Maya lets out.


Since Crystal has so far been largely ignored, Sophia decides to chime in to hopefully answer her enough to get her to at least stop scaring the RA. "I dunno if it's different for a sorcerer, but for me at least, it's nothing like that. You don't feel a rush of power, or anything in particular. After a little while getting used to it when you first develop it, magic is just another thing you can do, like walking or talking. Like, I feel the wind when I use my wind magic, obviously, but the magic itself doesn't have a particular feeling to it."

Now, who you think is getting along better and are generally happier being here, us or you?"

But I've never heard anyone say any type has a specific way it feels when you do it, per se - aside from things like the whole nature connection with Nymphs where it being a feeling is part of the whole point, I guess," she ends with a shrug.

I mean, since I can kind of change my body at will it doesn't make much of a difference for me personally, but all of my friends love it."

Well, besides that I prefer being a girl to a guy, anyway, that's the one thing that stuck from before I got my shape-shifting magic."

She took a moment to smooth her dress and straighten her veil to be perfect before announcing herself formally. "Greetings! I am Floris Naretzah, pleased to be meeting all of you." And she made ready to curtsy deeply when the doors opened.

It's just none of us want to stay bound forever anyway. But that's not even the point in this case; as far as our magic goes, from what Dad's told me our magic keeps developing up until we hit like, fifty, or until we're freed, whichever happens first. We just can't use most of it for anything but wishes until we're freed, and we lose a lot of the really strong stuff when that happens."

"Basically, it's complicated, but most of the time, older Genie means stronger magic, bound Genie means stronger magic, and freed Genie means weaker magic that never gets stronger but we can use more of it for ourselves," she finished.

Her attention was then drawn by Maya... opening the door for someone they'd never seen before. And inviting her in. Uh, okay, they might need to have a talk about that later, but so far at least, this girl seemed harmless.

She snaps her fingers and a plate of Halloween-themed sugar cookies and candy corn appears in her hands.

Sophia blinked in surprise, a blush briefly appearing on her face. "Oh, uh, thank you," she said with a smile. She wasn't normally so easy to flatter, but something about how unexpected and direct the compliment had been got to her.


"I suppose..... I wonder how genieism interacts with vamprism...." Crystal muses outloud. "Like I know human children vamp, continue to age until their prime.....Would your magic continue to increase?"
"I... have no idea," Sophia replies. "Can Genies even becomes vampires? I've never heard of one... but we're pretty rare to begin with, so I guess that doesn't mean much, does it?" She shrugs in uncertainty.

Floris looked at the offered hand. So many people doing this the other way around today, she thought, taking Morrigan's hand and kissing it on the knuckle. "Floris Naretzah. Morrigan, hm? That's a lovely name; lovely goddess."

I don't know what you are talking about, she holds up the Death card and looks at it. Still the same old grim reaper that it had when she first picked up these cards, all those years ago...

Even the Empress is looking fairly shabby these days... Maybe it is time for a new deck after all....

But would they be the same? Would my gift still work with new cards?

She shuffles the cards back into the oh so familiar deck, and she feels the rough edges of the cards. How they fray, how they still fit together perfectly.... She could never replace these... Could she?

She tips her chin up toward the newcomer in greeting. Brooklyn. Hi. Majesty. Or whatever. Royalty of some kind, right? Empress doesn't come up for a lot of people, not when I get that feeling...

Floris shook her head gently but a bit too quickly for what she was going for. "Royalty? No, no. There is no one alive or dead beholden to me, and I am beholden to no one alive." She looked into Brooklyn's eyes happily. "None of us really serve anything, except death. When the aberration of life is done we all return to the earth, royal or not. Your eyes are mesmerizing, Brooklyn!"

So that's why you're going for the 'Queen of the Undead' vibe then?

"I don't know what you mean," Floris said. "But thank you, I'll take that as a compliment." She looked for a place to sit down again. "Not a lot of space, is there? Would anyone be willing to split a seat with me?"

Brooklyn walks over to the window, opens it and then sits down on the sill. You can’t see what’s happening, but you can guess, and moments later your guess is confirmed when you hear that unique sound of someone opening a Zippo lighter.

"Oh, what's that?" Floris asked, lifting her skirts to take the offered seats. "Are you exhaling a ghost?"

Do yourself a favor, your highness, Brooklyn says, without turning back around to look inside. And leave me the f**k alone? I'd remind you that I did try and leave.

Seeing Brooklyn open the window, take a seat, and hearing the lighter, Sophia remarks to her, "Oh, don't worry, that's no big," and with a wave of her hand a gentle breeze starts blowing near that window, just enough to ensure any smoke goes out instead of in.

Seeing Miss Shawels blocking the door though, she has to remark, "So, when Maya tells you she doesn't want your help you ignore her, but the second she's asking someone who's leaving a little early to stay you physically block the door so they can't go?"

Episode 1 (A magical meeting) Scene 5

It is within a half an hour that Maya pulls out a state of the art laptop, now with holodec technology.

Quickly connecting to the campus wi-fi, she sends out a call on her messaging service.

Hey Mom and Dad. Maya beams warmly. Sorry it took so long, me and my new friends got a little distracted watching anime. Oooooo should you be up Madelyn~ She grins facing the holodec, talking to a young raven haired middle school looking girl. Isn't it past your bedtime~ She teases.

"Shut up!" The gal stomps her foot on the holodec projection. "Isn't it past your bed time!" She retorts lamely. I'm an adult now, I don't have a bedtime. She teases, before turning her gaze to her parents. "I'm assuming Morgan's in bed?"

"Yeah, but we'll tell her you called. How are you doing? Howse's your first day of college?" Her mother pipes up.

"And how are your new friends? Everyone adjusting okay?"

Generally I wouldn't expect to get Rain Magnet on a roll where knowledge about weather is relevant (particularly since it gives a luck bonus instead of a skill bonus), but it doesn't seem too weird for Morrigan to know a good bit about weather patterns, and since this is a sorta-knowledge roll that's based on Luck...idk, up to you if it applies.

They're criminals, they're probably poor and don't have a better way of making money, so now he's given them medical fees and legal fees on top of whatever other issues they already had. He saved the bank from losing a little bit of money but the accounts were probably insured, and in exchange made a bad person's bad life even worse. Maybe a lot of them deserve it, cuz Gotham kinda sucks, but there's no way they're all soulless monsters, there's gonna be some desperate people in no-win situations whose lives are now somehow even worse than if they'd been caught by the cops. Plus he's had like...five kids? Six? And they all end up joining him in crimefighting, and they all end up dying or getting crippled or just leave once they realize how obsessed he is with this stuff."

Not necessarily for the classes so much, of course, since she was still saddled with required ones she was sure she wouldn't care much for, but new classes at a new school meant new people to meet, and she always loved that.

She was barely out of the dorms, heading out early to find her first class well before it started, when she ran into her first group of new people - being lead straight to her by one of her old friends that she'd arrived with, Sarah. A few of her friends liked to score social points by telling people about how they were friends with a Genie and about the things she could do with her magic, and Sarah, who had been a cheerleader in High School and was an aspiring actress, was probably the biggest one of those. Sophia didn't really mind - though she did like ribbing them about it occasionally. She had thought that maybe that would be less of a thing at college, especially with a Sorceress in their class, but hey, it was the first day after all, she shouldn't be surprised Sarah was trying the same old thing for now.

Sarah, beaming all the while, introduced her new roommate and classmates to Sophia. "Oh, I've been telling them all about-" she started to explain, before Sophia cut her off, "My wind magic and shape-shifting? Oh I know, you tell everyone about that," she said teasingly. "Sure, I can show them if you want. Check it out guys, Sarah particularly likes this form," she said with a wink. She then spun around, whipping up a small whirlwind around herself to cover her shape-shifting, just for dramatic effect. She'd switched to a more plain look when she went to bed last night, and switched her clothes to a more traditional harem outfit that morning, but knowing Sarah's particular taste in girls she now changed her body back to something more like the curvier, succubus-inspired shape she'd taken at the party, but with an even more generous chest size and the top trimmed to emphasize the cleavage as much as possible. She also grew a few inches taller, so that she was the tallest person in the immediate group, and added a few gold bracelets and a necklace to her look - a necklace which hung almost down into her cleavage and seemed to be pointing at it, just to fully dispense with subtlety. As she finished she let the wind around her dissipate and turned to give Sarah another wink, and was happy to see the girl blushing bright crimson. "What, you didn't think just because we're not in High School anymore I'd let you get away with keeping your little weakness a secret, did you?" she asked teasingly, drawing chuckles from the group - or at least those of the group who weren't too fixated on Sophia themselves.

And she was doing just that when Maya started heading for her class.

After feeding the group, Floris confidently strode to her next class, but it was actually not her next class, as she was just following Maya with no idea of separate classes. After perhaps twenty minutes she looked over her schedule, written out on long scroll paper, and gasped.

"Oh my! Are people separated here?!" She asked, interrupting the entire class on, who knows, charades? As she stood. "What an odd practice! I seem to need direction to something called a... com... puter lob? Lab?" She curtsied deeply to the professor and then to the class, giving an extra low curtsy to Maya. "My deepest apologies, everyone! Maya, I hope I haven't soured our friendship by appearing foolish! I find you a magnificent, radiant, kind person and I hope you see me the same way!" And gathering up her skirts, Floris departed.

Okay disregard EVERYTHING. She does feed everyone, and hopefully that will let me shoehorn in Yamato Nadeshiko for a +8, but I will be focusing on Maiden Garb, Butt In, and Morning Person for a +6 allure roll forget the skillllllz.

Morrigan huffed as the RA made a nuisance of herself once again. Maya wasn't getting even a bit of a break from the little sycophant's. Maya had been really helpful to her so far, Morrigan ought to do something to help her out...

...she grins as an idea comes to her. Morrigan starts shadowing the RA whenever she's got a spare moment, especially when Maya's around. Before too long, she has something entirely new to worry about: gusts of wind blowing her food away, inattentive students tripping her up, every car that goes by splashing her with water that still sat after the flooding the days before...

Morrigan was doing an okay job of avoiding the fallout herself - only due to a lifetime of practice - but fate can't be denied and she ended up tripping into an open trash can face-first. Still, it didn't really hurt, it was just unpleasant; she could suffer a little unpleasantness if it put a smile on Maya's face.

D-Don't Hurt Me, 2nd use, rolling Luck in place of Conflict.

"Only when I want to be," Sophia responds to Sarah, not batting an eye at the peck on the cheek. "It just so happens that I usually want to be when you're showing off for your new friends. Keeps things fun for everyone."

Seeing Jasmine look away, she says to her, "Oh, we're not a couple or anything, just old friends," she explained.

"Not friends with benefits, right?" Jasmine asks shyly.
