Episode I
The Traitors Gambit
It is a dark time in the galaxy. The evil Galactic Empire has spread from the Deep Core to the Outer Rim, and everywhere the Empire's tyranny can be felt.
Fleeing from the oppression of the Emperor's minions, agents of Senator Bail Organa have run to a remote space station above Brentaal. Known to be a vocal opponent of the Empire, Organa may be the last hope of freedom in the galaxy.
In hopes of stopping these dissidents before they can reach the Senator, the empire has alerted its forces on Sel Zonn Station, where the struggle for liberty rages on, and the first sparks of rebellion have begun to burn...

Seemingly motionless among the sea of starships and satellites above the twinkling world of Brentaal, Sel Zonn Station grows larger in your view every second. A central pylon forms the bulk of the station's mass, and three landing platforms leading to docking bays extend from the central section, equidistant from one another and jutting out into space. The dorsal side of the station features a disc-shaped secondary structure, on top of which blinking lights indicate a landing platform reserved for wealthy patrons.

Stepping off your personnel transport ship, The Lucky Star, you are greeted by a stormtrooper as he checks your I.D. badge. He swiftly gives you the 'All Clear' and pushes you along to scan the next passenger coming off the ship. There is an information terminal in front of you in the middle of the Promenade. The establishments immediately around you that catch your eye are a cantina named Grundark's Cantina, a local casino named The Credit Chip, a corporate medical practice named Delgas Medical Supplies, and a droid shop named Mechanical Allies.

The Promenade is filled with the bustle of revelry and commerce. Spilling out of the gambling halls are the sounds of victory and the moans of defeat, while music from local bands issues from the cantinas. Only a handful of citizens mill about in the main areas of the Promenade, a few gazing out of the massive windows at the planet Brentaal hovering below. Buisnesspeople hawk their wares to the passerby, and a few Imperial stormtroopers make their way down the main avenue of the Promenade on their usual patrol at a leisurely pace.

Elias frowns slightly as he enters the busy space station.

*Why did I sign up for this again?* he wonders to himself, *I could have just kept on helping the little people back on Coruscant, why did I have to go and try to be the hero?*

If there's anything like a bench nearby, he settles into it.

*'Join the Rebellion,' they said, 'the Republic will live again!' Hah! Maybe it will, but I won't live to see it. Especially not if I'm actually trying to fight for it. Oh, sure, I've got a pea shooter, but I'm much better at patching up people who've been shot than I am at doing the shooting.*

He sighs heavily.

*I'm not even sure what they want us to do on this backwater station.*

Kedlo Nootka, the infamous duro scoundrel, hurries past the guy in front of him so he didn't have to have his id checked. *That was a close one, I almost got caught. A well, those good ol' stormtroopers have never seemed to notice me in the couple of weeks I have been wanted. Oh, better hurry to that cantina so I won't be found any time soon.* He thinks to himself while holding up the collar of his shirt to hide his gray-blue face and quickly walking to the cantina.
Sitting down at the bar, he orders a home planet favorite Jimba Tonic. After a couple shots, he looks around the bar for anyone that he might know.

The thin teenage boy hustles down the gangway, keeping close to the doctor in front of him. He doesn't even look at the sights, just keeps his head down and shrinks into the crowd afterwards. If anything, he seems thoroughly unimpressed, as he sits down beside Elias - keeping his distance, though.

'Well, old woman, do you think this is a good idea? I hope so...'

[Ascension]

Elias's pessimism fades a bit when he sees how glum Irian looks. He feels like it's his duty to try to cheer up the young man, even if it means feigning a positivity he really isn't feeling right now.

"Hey, put a smile on your face, kid! Sure, this is kind of a low spot, but think back on the good times in life... At least we were lucky enough to grow up on a nice core world. Imagine what life's like for people who actually have to live out here in the boondocks!"

I'm not 100% sure where Brentaal is, but remember... Couruscanti Noble. Anywhere is the boondocks in comparison with where Elias grew up.

[Liliedhe]

A wry smile curls around the boy's mouth. "Of course you are right, Sir..." Pushing his hair out of his face he looks up. "These are just too many new and exciting" - the sarcasm here probably could pierce the hull of a star destroyer - "sights for a little backstreet boy like me. I'll get used to it, sooner or later..." The hazel eyes stay grim, though.

[Ascension]

*Okay,* Elias thinks, *that's not the right tactic.*

"Hey, I think I saw one of the others go into the bar... want to join him? I'm sure your mumbo-jumbo is good enough to get you past the bouncer, right? It's either that or watch me haggle with the good people over at Delgas Medical Supplies. I'm sure someone's going to need medical supplies before this is all over..."

[Liliedhe]

"I'll pass on the bar. You'll need someone to carry your stuff, anyway." He shrugs, displeasure sharp on his features. "Don't mother me." For a second, he looks into the distance, then forces himself back to the present.

"By someone, I hope you don't mean 'me'." A little try to lighten the mood, but he remains wary.

[Ascension]

"Well, there goes your one chance at doing something entertaining. Don't say I didn't warn you. Let's go check out the pharmacist, then..."

Elias rises from the bench and crosses the Promenade to Delgas Medical.

[Liliedhe]

"Entertainment is overrated." Irian rises with an exaggerated sigh and follows the doctor to the supply shop.

[Graybacca]

For Ronon the former Republic/Imperial Clone trooper the Sel Zonn Station that orbits the world of Brentaal, was just another stop where he could look for some work, as Ronon looks around the Promenade, he spots the Noble with a young kid as his assistant, he also spotted the duros that had ducked the ID check as he entered the cantina. Ronon stands look out the window at the world of Brentaal as he figures out what he should do, he mutters to himself, Now what should i do.

A few moments pass as the travelers settle into the Promenade. A black haired, slender woman wearing greasy cloths stumbles down the Promenade. Through she is trying to hide it, she has clearly been wounded somehow, and she looks disheveled.

Ronon notices: Two civilians loitering in the Promenade who dont seem to be part of the larger crowd. Each seems to be scanning the crowd closely as though looking for someone. Dressed in traveler's clothes and carrying poorly concealed hold-out blaster pistols, these civilians seem as though they are keeping a watchful eye on nearly everyone at the same time. They seem to be whispering to themselves, obviously speaking into hidden comlinks. The two men start moving toward the woman.

Something startles the woman and she begins to run toward Elias, clutching her midsection as though injured. She struggles to make her way across the floor in Elias' direction, though clearly having difficulty walking.
"Please help me," she calls out to Elias. "There are credits in it for you, just help me!"
Mere seconds later, two stormtroopers burst into the area from the south end of the Promenade. They raise their blasters, aiming them at the woman, and shout through their helmet speakers, "Step away from that woman, she is under arrest in the name of the Emperor."

After the stormtroopers shout their warning many of the civilians in the Promenade duck into the nearby cantina and others start running down the hall wanting nothing to do with the local security.

Here is the battle map. Roll for initiative. For those who cannot tell, Ronon is in the topleft (B2), Irian is the jedi bottom left (B9), Elias is the medic bottomleft (A9), and Kadlo is top center (E1). Maya is the female (D7). stormtroopers at J3 and J4. Imperial informants at H8 and I8

Spotting the two thugs with the poorly hidden hold-out blasters, Ronon as discreetly as he can readies his bowcaster but then he see the hurt woman and then he hears her call out, "Please help me," "There are credits in it for you, just help me!" with that he makes his up his mind that he will help her, then the the stormtroopers showed and that real made his mind up there the one who put out job, and forced him into the life he has now.

Elias turns as he hears someone calling. When he sees the woman's state his hand flies to his medkit. He does not back down in the face of the stormtroopers.

"I'm a doctor," he says in response to their command to back away, "You can't arrest a dead woman. Let me administer first aid."

Seeing many people rush into the cantina, Kedlo meanders on over to the entryway and looks out at all the commotion.

His body moved off onto the station with a power, as though he owned the ground he stepped on. His essence was one of power, of revenge, of destruction. With every step his body moved smoothly, seeming to glide as he stepped. He not only seemed powerful beneath his cloak and scared face, his power was matched by agility. He looked toward the two upsetting the woman, and then to the storm troopers. He took a few steps forward before asking the storm troopers a simple question. "Why?" His voice spoke cold and demanding.

When the commotion starts, Irian involuntarily shrinks back to the wall, before steeling himself. Don't be afraid...

His hand wanders to the stun baton at his belt...

The stormtroopers charge their weapons and slowly inch forward. The Imperial informants though are still chatting on their com links and slowly draw their blasters.Initiative [13] take your turns. And Kazasu, put yourself where you want on the battle map.

Ronon brings his bowcaster up and takes aim at the Imperial informant that is closets to Maya and fires.

In the doorway of the cantina, Kedlo pulls out his heavy blaster pistol. Taking aim at one of the Imp. Informant (H8), he takes a shot at him.

Elias runs over to the wounded woman.

"Just hold on, miss. Just hang on a moment and I'll see what I can do for you."

He fumbles for a medpac.

If you'll allow me to count being on the side pocket of a medical kit as being on a holster, utility belt, or bandolier, then Elias uses a move action to reach the woman and another to retrieve the medpac.

If you won't, then he uses one move action to reach her, a standard action to use Bolster Ally on her, and the medpac-fumbling is just for fluff.

In the first case he'll perform first aid next round (a full-round action), in the second case he'll need two move actions next round to get the medpac and then he can administer first aid in the third round.

Irian follows Elias over to the woman, attempting to cover them both, while he draws his Stun Baton and activates it.

"I'll cover you. Try to get out of here in one piece, Doc, will you?"

When it is his turn, Irian will run over to Elias and the woman.

Kage looks foward, pulling his right blaster from its holster. He then fires toward the Imp. Informant(H8). As he shoots, he feels... the indescribable. He feels the universe help him with his shot.


Kage uses a force point, increasing his attack by 1d6.

The sound of blaster fire erupts through the Promenade. Several shots zip past the Imperial Informants but none seem to hit their mark. The stormtroopers return fire at the armored suspect in the corner and one seems to hit his mark. The Imperial informants are less cautious and aim for the Duro in the doorway to the Cantina. One also hit his mark.
Ronon takes 10 damage. Kadlo takes 7 damage.
Post your next round. Elias pulled his med pack out and can now aid Maya if he wishes.

Keldo technically goes first, but I don't think anything he does will affect me giving Maya first aid. Here goes nothing...

"You'll feel a lot better in just a moment," Elias calmly assures the woman as he quickly dresses her wounds.

*Never mind the fact that with all this blaster fire flying around you'll probably just get hurt again,* he thinks.

Clutching his shoulder where he got hit, Kedlo aims once again at the Imp. Informant at H8.

Elias masterfully administers treatment to the woman she replies "Thank you kind sir." She pulls a blaster pistol and joins in the firefight shooting furiously at the nearest Imperial Informant. Hitting him square in the forehead. The informant (at H8) collapses with a dull thud.

The stormtroopers dont seem to mind and continue with their trigger-happy ways. "Its not too often we get some good target practice" one says. They fire at Ronon and another hits his mark.
The Imperial informant looks at his friend for a moment and continues firing at the Duro. The shot goes wide however and there is a scream from the cantina quickly following.

Ronon takes 14 damage. Though Maya has recovered enough to join the fight and she did take one out.

Irian simply stays with the doctor and the woman, just keeping his head down and his baton ready.

[Kazasu]

Kage targets the clone trooper right in front of him, focusing on the shot,and firing his pistol in one fluid motion.

Well, Kedlo is supposed to go first, but seeing as how I'm the only one rolling well...

"They're tearing us apart!" Elias shouts, "Irian, do something!"

Elias turns to the Stormtrooper nearer the cantina. He reaches under his vest and draws a blaster from his shoulder holster.

"When you're figuring out what to charge me with, remember that my possession of this hunting blaster is perfectly legal. My parents might appreciate the distinction."

He flicks it over to lethal and fires. He feels an odd sort of confidence about the shot, almost like some external force assisting him... but he dismisses the thought as a mere flight of fancy.

The stormtroopers continue firing at Ronon but cant seem to find their mark. The Imperial informant fires at Irian but cant seem to aim in a panic. Maya takes careful aim at the nearest stormtrooper and hits him square in the chest. The stormtrooper (in J4) curls in on his wound and falls to the floor face first. A small string of smoke rises from the wound.

Kazasu, angry at himself for missing, concentrates on his next shot, focusing on his target. And then, he fires.

The remaining enemies collapse after being struck by Irian and Kage.
"We need to get out of here before reinforcements arrive" Maya says. "I know of a safe place we can go. Follow me." She motions and begins to hurriedly walk toward the turbolifts, still grasping at her wound.

Elias breathes a sigh of relief as the last of Maya's enemies falls.

*That was too close for comfort,* he thinks, *I really should have stayed back home on Coruscant...*

Although he recognizes the need to run, Maya's haste distresses him.

"Wait, what about the wounded? And the rest of my medical supplies?"

He turns to his young Jedi friend.

"Irian, could you go fetch my surgery kit and the spare medpacs from the ship? Hurry!"

He turns back to Maya.

"Go on if you must. You and the others. Irian and I will catch up. Don't worry about us. He can be quite... resourceful... and I'm the closest thing to a respectable citizen in this little band. I should be able to talk my way out of this as long as they didn't actually see me with the blaster in my hand."

As the man he struck collapses, Irian finds his hand jarred by the impact and clenches his teeth. I don't need this... But he has no time to dwell on such things - he deactivates the stun baton and runs over to Elias, just in time to be ordered on.

The feeling is... familiar and therefore painful. "I'm on it." He turns on his heel and runs towards the ship, to return with the supplies as quickly as possible.

Seeing the other two leave with the girl, Kedlo puts his gun away in his jacket holster, and walks out of the cantina without paying. Quickly realizing this he quickly runs after the girl trying to not be noticed by her. *Man, I would have liked to stay and gamble and drink some more. I hope this is worth it.* The duro thinks to himself

[Kazasu]

Kage, feeling the familiar power felt when ending a persons life, turned toward the medic. He then returns the gun to its holster with two spins around his finger. "Does your friend need some help?" He says kindly, doing a complete turn around from his earlier voice, this medic.. felt.. familiar, and kind.

[Ascension]

"I'm not sure," Elias replies with a slight grin, "Can you provide any assistance more subtle than blowing off people's heads?"

He turns to follow Irian.

"No, it would probably be best for you people with blasters... well, with bigger blasters... to escort Miss Maya out of here as quickly as possible. I'll watch out for the boy in case things turn ugly."

He follows Irian to the ship with a pleasant, innocent-looking expression and a confident stride. It was something his father had taught him long ago: Look like you belong somewhere and most guards won't even question your presence.

There, now I'm coming along. With my trained persuasion and deception. Happy yet, Liliedhe? :smallwink:

Kage lets out a sigh, "I have other talents you know. But I wish you best of luck, also, if you run into any trouble, try to get ahold of me, I'll be back faster than you can blink." He speaks, turns around, and catches up with the rest of his group.


I hope you end up alright, I just had Kage show a shred of kindness! No complaining if you get caught! :smalltongue:

Irian just shrugs as the doctor chooses to follow him anyway... But he acknowledges Kage's offer with a curt nod. Seems like he doesn't talk much. Or civil. Maybe.

Maya leads you to an empty guest quarters in the residential sector of Sel Zonn. She locks the door once everyone who followed enters the room. "I am Maya, I work for Alderaanian Security. I was sent here by Senator Bail Organa as an undercover agent to secure some valuable cargo being held here." she says. "I was to meet up with my contact, 'Switch', in docking bay V14. But a recent background check by local security flagged me and theyve been watching since I arrived here." she adds while gripping her side. Blood seems to be dripping from her cloths and the wound is believed to been reopened in all the rush. She continues, "I cannot complete my mission in my current state, I would ask you to finish it for me. Bail Organa will reward you well for this cargo." She hands off a datapad with a map to docking bay V14 and says "Contact me when you have aquired it, I must stay here and recover." With that she staggers to her bed and lays down.

[Ascension]

In what I'm sure was an amazing adventure, Irian and Elias retrieved the rest of his medical supplies and loaded them onto the repulsorlift stretcher from his medical kit. Unfortunately for the viewer, this scene, like most of the ending of KotOR II, was cut. So instead they magically show up at the briefing with the supplies and you're just supposed to accept the fact that they succeeded without actually seeing them do it.

Elias listens intently to the woman's story. As a doctor, he has a hard time leaving her in such a condition, but he realizes that the mission is important enough that the needs of the many must be considered over the needs of the one.

He turns to the others.

"Alright, just so we're on the same page of the book if-slash-when we get interrogated by Imperials, what's our cover story?"

[drum-n-bass]

Well, I don't plan on getting caught, Kedlo replies slyly.

[Liliedhe]

Irian - looking a little harried and rather glum when they join up with the group - listens intently, too. His frown gets deeper and deeper.

"Bail Organa..."

His lips curl into an ironic smile full of distaste. "Ok, fine."

Hearing the Duros boast he gives a small chuckle. "Things never go as planned. Well, how about we are thieves looking for something worth our while? Or were you thinking of a little less illegal story why we would snoop around the confiscated stuff?"

[Ascension]

"Okay, interrogated was the wrong word. If we get interrogated, you're right, we've lost. But if someone just asks us why we're near docking bay V14, I want an answer other than random blaster fire. How about I'm the captain of a cargo freighter, and I have reason to believe that some goods meant to be loaded onto my ship got sent to the wrong docking bay? You could be some members of my crew I brought along to help me move the crates since my repulsorlift pallet here wouldn't be large enough to hold the full shipment."

Elias pulls back his vest to display his shoulder holster.

"And then, if they don't accept that story, then we resort to random blaster fire. Now, before we get moving, do any of you need some quick first aid?"

[Liliedhe]

"Sounds like a plan, doc."

The boy shrugs and moves out of the corner were he seemed to sulk. Crossing his arms in front of his chest, he stands at Elias's side, looking to the floor. It seems like he would like to be anywhere else but here - though he neither protests nor complains, just goes along. Like he was used to taking orders...

[drum-n-bass]

Yeah that sounds like a good plan Kedlo says thinking about it. Yeah I got hit in the shoulder back there could you fix it? he says showing doc the wound.

[Graybacca]

Ronon although wounded follows Maya to the room and the briefing, when he dose speak his voice in lased from the pain of his blaster wounds, I'm with the Duros on this one we don't get caught if they to take us, i say kyr'am nau dar'ijaat and for those of you that don't know what that means it means Death before dishonor. Turning toward the one that seems to be the doctor of the group he say, Hey Doc if you got a moment do you think you could take a look at these blaster burns of mine.

[Ascension]

"Death before dishonor, but medical treatment before death?" Elias quips.

He unfolds his medical kit, readies a couple of medpacs, and does his best to quickly dress the two wounded men's wounds. When he's done, he moves the three spare medpacs from the stretcher to the pouches on the side of his medical kit.

"When we receive our payment I'm going to have to see about replenishing my supply of medpacs..."

"Death before dishonor, nice sentiment. Also, what about Maya? Are you sure she'll be okay here by herself?" He speaks before looking at Irian. Something was familiar about him as well, but he couldn't feel what.

Feeling the other's eyes on him, Irian just turns away. His gaze strays to the woman on the bed, to the other people in the room and finally to Elias. By now, his face has become a mask.

"Well, Doc? Ready when you are..."

[Ascension]

"I suppose we should get moving then. Unless things go sour, try letting me do the talking."

Barring any last minute objections, Elias heads for the door, his stretcher with the supplies hovering along behind him.

[Liliedhe]

"Sure you want to take that?" Irian points to the stretcher. "That's hardly standard issue for a captain... And it will slow us down."

Stop pretending, fool. Live now.

[Ascension]

"I was going to call it a cargo pallet, but you're right, it doesn't exactly look like one... It would, however, aid us in moving whatever it is we're supposed to be picking up... I don't know. Your call."

[Liliedhe]

"Depends on the shape and the weight of the stuff we are supposed to get."

He looks at Maya, his question plain on his face. "How big and heavy is it? Can we carry it?"

Following the map on the datapad Maya gave you, it leads through a quarantined part of the station. It seems to have been quarantined for quite a long time in fact. Many lights have been burnt out in the hallways and carbon scoring mar the walls, ceiling and floor. Pools of coolant litter the hallway at regular intervals. After winding your way through a near-labyrinth of decrepit corridors you come to the bay doors to V14. Standing in front are a pair of Gammoreans wielding vibro-axes.

"Doesn't really look like standard issue station security...", he remarks under his breath. "What are we getting ourselves into here?" But he just follows the others and hopes the doc knows how to bluff them...

Elias began to get worried as soon as the group entered the closed sections of the station. He has grown much more worried upon finding himself confronted with Gammoreans. He does his best, though, to keep his face from showing his anxiety.

"Tell the Duros to hide," he whispers to Irian with more confidence than he actually feels, "He can sneak past once I distract the pigs."

"Well met, friends!" he shouts, walking towards the guards with a smile, "I'm so glad I finally found someone sentient down here! I'm afraid my crew and I have gotten rather lost... Could you just show us the way out of here? Is that the door out you're guarding? It's not very nice to guard an emergency exit, now is it?"

Kage stands among himself behind Elias on his right. He looks at the pigs, deciding it would be easier to just shoot them and get it over with, but not acting upon his idea.

The Gammoreans continue to only block the door. They do not seem hostile but they do seem to be expecting something. One grunts again in his own language.

"They're running an extortion racket!" Elias exclaims in mock horror.

Okay, I'll succumb to the temptation. Elias knows Gammorean now.

"Just pay them already, old man..." Irian shrugs, then suddenly freezes, a look of shock on his face. Something seems to happen in his head, before he more or less seems to become stone, turning away from Elias and the Gamorreans, without caring that he shows his back to potential enemies.

"You're overcharging, you know," Elias admonishes, but he hands over the credits anyway.

The Gammoreans step aside and allow the party to enter the storage bay. The deep storage bay is as run-down as the hallways leading up to it, with entire metal plates missing from the floor and a huge, open exhaust shaft near the back of the room. Large crates litter the area, creating the appearance of a haphazard mess, and the air has a distinct smell of fumes and sweat that makes the entire area unpleasant. Flickering lights provide modest illumination, and a burst pipe along the ceiling leaks blue fluid down one wall.
Near the center of the room is an item that seems very out of place- a large, finely crafted desk made of Japor ivory wood, which means the desk is both priceless and rare. Sitting peacefully behind the desk is a protocol droid with shiny, ebony coverings that seem to soak up the light and offer only the slightest reflection. The droid's eyes flicker slightly, as though imitating a person blinking rapidly.
The Gammoreans close the door behind you.
When nearing the table in the center of the room you notice a smaller blue-and-red astromech droid standing next to the protocol droid. It beeps and burbles, seemingly lost in its own world. You also notice a Twi'lek thug standing quietly off to the side of the room not actively hiding but also not clearly visible.

Irian and Ronon: Perception You notice 3 human thugs hiding behind crates scattered around the room.

Really? Oh well i guess we will have to deal with them. the duro says after being zoned out for a bit. Putting his hand to his left side to quickly be able to pull out his blaster in case firing starts happening. Thinking to himself This doesn't look like some place a senator would keep cargo.

"Greetings, my mechanical friend," Elias says, stepping up to the desk to address the protocol droid.

"We're here to pick up something, but if this is a bad time, we could just make an appointment and come back later..."

"Oh dont mind them" the protocol droid responds to Ronon with a Coruscanti-imperial accent. Then he responds to everyone, "I welcome you to my domain. I am Switch and this is my friend R5-B8." the protocol droid motions to the astromech next to him. "Might I offer you a drink?" He has an extensive selection of beverages and many are of an exceptionally refined taste. He offers a drink of a very old vintage of wine and he continues "I am a dealer of information, but at that comes a cost. What questions might you need an answer to?" His voice is light and cheerful and he doesnt seem to have a care in the world.

[Ascension]

"You're just the man... err... droid we're here to see!" Elias replies happily, "We're here to pick up the senator's cargo."

"Perhaps I do, but the location of said cargo will cost you 1000 credits. Unless... you want to provide a service to lower this cost. Nothing too serious, its just I would love to have an informant of my own. Should you give me regular updates on your travels I would lower that cost by 200 credits for each of you who agrees." Switch states enthusiastically.

Im going to assume you take 10 on trying to befriend him.

"Allow me to confer with my associates," Elias says to the droid.

"I can't afford that unless at least four of us agree," he tells the party whenever he's far enough away it seems safe to have a whispered conversation, "and I won't be able to afford any more medpacs unless all of us agree."

"I don't like the idea of someone knowing everywhere we go, when we go. We already have enemies, if the information of our location leaks out, who knows what kind of bounty hunters we will be followed by. We, in all honesty, do not know this droid that well, and if he is willing to disclose the location of a shipment, how can we be sure he won't sell our own information? However.. we need the information, and he could make a very powerful friend." Kage speaks without looking at the droid. "If we can become good friends with him, I vote yes."

Irian, still distracted, is slow to warn the others, but luckily Ronon covers for him. When Elias takes everyone aside, he shakes his head.

"That's a bad idea. Well, on the other hand, if we can control what he learns, it might have merits."

Then, he starts to think in earnest. "But, what makes him think that we will do anything worth his while after this? We don't know that we will..." A crooked grin spreads over his thin face. "Well, I can give you the credits so I don't have to take the droid up on the offer - and maybe you can bargain something more? Only a beginner takes the first deal."

[Ascension]

"Alright, how about I offer 500 credits and my information?"

[Liliedhe]

"Try it..." Irian grins crookedly, but his hazel eyes remain empty. "And believe it."

"Alright, Switch, here's my offer," Elias says, turning back to the droid, "400 credits and myself as an informant. There's no need to get the others involved."

The gammorean guards squeal in agony, then a Chevin Gangster bursts through the door with a handful of thugs. The Chevin shouts in basic, "So you thought you could hide your deal with the offworlders from me, Droid? Im tired of not getting my cut! Turn him into a scap heap, boys!

Yes. you can as a move action grab another ally (if theyre willing) and as another move action move up to your (newly encumbered) base speed. Thus allowing you to move unconscious players if needed.

Kaldo's blaster fire whizzes past the Chevin and spews out into the hall, another scorch mark probably wont be noticed. In turn Ganga Lor pulls out his own blaster and aims for Kaldo. His shot hits Kaldo in the arm dealing 13 damage. The three Thugs behind Ganga shoot wildly into the mass of people. Two completely miss and one finds its mark hitting Kage, dealing 7 damage.

Ronon's itchy trigger hits another of the thugs. The thug drops coldly upon impact.


((I gave him the first one only because he was technically holding an action for the thugs to show hostile actions. but if he starts posting out of turn a lot he may end up missing more being that hes shooting at corpses...))

My original intention was to dive over the console and tackle Switch to the ground to get him out of the line of fire, but now that Irian's moved me behind cover I'm loath to put myself in danger again.

I assume I'm in H4 and I assume the pile of junk is small enough for Elias to fire over it. If it isn't, I'll change my action to something more stupidly daring.

Elias mutters a quick "Thank you" to Irian for getting him out of the open. He reaches under his vest and pulls out his sporting blaster.

Switch dives under his wooden desk and commands his thugs to return fire. The thugs reluctantly do as he orders but none of them seem to hit their mark.

Starting new round, Kage can jump in at any time when he finally gets here.

Ganga lor yells "Fools! I payed you to help me not shoot at me!" This prompts you to believe that Switch's thugs had been paid off and purposely missed Ganga Lor's men. Meanwhile the two thugs behind Ganga shoot wildly, one at Kage and one at Ronon before diving for cover behind the crates at B8 and C9. Though both shots miss by a mile.

P.S. you can shoot over and around all obsticals. The crates stand about 1 meter high, as does the junk pile. So ducking behind it will grant cover. (+5 reflex)

For the people behind the desk, remeber the thug at J1 isnt behind cover to you. And Ganga Lor is still not behind cover.

So sorry! I came back home to realize I had no power! I finally got power back just to be swamped by projects in each of my classes. The day of returning after the hurricane! Anyways, I am back, but i may be posting off and on for a bit.

Kage looks around the room, his eyes glaring as he feels the pain from the bolt. His mind recoils in anger as he draws both of his pistols, standing his ground, and firing his right pistol at the boss.

His heart beats furiously in his ears. Please... No more dead people... The smell is overwhelming still. Blood, fire, death. No. Not here.

The last thug collapses behind the crate. The docking bay goes silent and the pitter patter from the one that got away fades in the distance. Switch looks out from under his desk and sees Ronons bloody mass. He gets up and says "I thank you all for saving me. Ill call in a favor from the local doctor to get you all some time in a bacta tank and him some surgery at no charge." he points to Ronon.


XP awarded is 80 for the Gammorean encounter, 80 for the encounter with switch and 400 for the shootout. For a grand total af 560 xp each.

Loot: Each thug and Ganga Lor has a blaster pistol, Ganga Lor also has 300 credits.

Seeing his efforts fail, Irian just stays behind his crate, desperately fighting the resurfacing memories. No, no, no... When it is over and he emerges, he is even paler than usual, his hair matted with sweat. He stumbles a little.

"I'm not hurt."

The smell of fire is still in his nose, but the rest is under control. Still, it costs him a lot of effort to retrieve one of the blaster pistols from the thugs.

"We just need to know where that cargo is." His voice is harsh now.

"Well..." Elias says with a sigh, "So this is what being a criminal is like..."

It is only now that the full magnitude of what just occurred hits him.

"Ye gods! What have we done? Sure, it was self defense, but the plea probably wouldn't hold up in court... at least not against the kind of lawyers Ganga Lor's estate could fund! And any defense would have to additionally explain what we were doing in this... this... place, talking to a smuggler droid! We're doomed! We'll be sent to the Spice Mines of Kessel, poor Switch there'll be smashed into who knows what... It's all over! And that's not even mentioning how we killed those Stormtroopers!"

He falls to his knees, sobbing.

"Why? Why? I had a perfectly good little medical practice on Coruscant, I was helping plenty of people there... Why did I have to run off to go be the hero? Why? What was I thinking?"

With in a few minutes of the battles concussion you here Ronon groan as he regains awareness Ronon Grunts as he rolls himself over, he say more to himself, Ohhh, I've got to remember to watch my back

"Welcome to reality, Doc."

Irian's voice still seems harsh, but he steps closer to the young man and puts a hand on his shoulder. "I think there are some people who need you now... Break down later." His face shows quite a bit of concern and understanding now, but is still very pale.

"Right... right... calm..."

Elias sighs heavily, then stands.

"Well, since we're criminals now, good and proper, I suppose we should act the part."

He holds up his sporting blaster.

"My possession of this gun is perfectly legal. As a result of that, however, it's horribly traceable."

With an obvious grimace on his face he kneels by one of the men he killed.

"Unfortunately, this thug stole it from me."

He plants the sporting piece on the dead man's body and takes up the blaster of the slain.

"Now I hold in my hand an illegal gun, with which I will do illegal things, illegally... but at least all that illegality won't be easily traced back to my family. That's the important part. That's what I've got to keep telling myself every time I pull this tainted trigger."

Elias looks over and Ganga Lor's body.

"Well, as long as the world's gone mad and it's become acceptable to loot corpses, we might as well play the highwaymen and find out what the man of means considered pocket change."

He sifts through the dead alien's pockets and comes up with 300 credits.

"Oh, look, money for my next medpac. Thank you, dead ruffian."

Something tugs at Irian's mouth as the doctor goes through his little mantra.

At least you have a choice.

Then, when he is convinced Elias has it together again, he turns to the droid. "Well, the cargo? Our... employer really is on a timetable here." He stays with Elias, though.

Getting up from cowering behind the desk kedlo says with a smirk on his face Well, now that's over with we can getting going for our cargo.....ahhh he slumps over. I got hit one too many times.

After resting in place a few minutes Ronon struggles to sit up, once he's in an up right position Ronon Say, Hey doc i think i could use some help here, And could some one Grab two pistols from are so dearly departed friends here I'd like some souvenir of this fight, other then the scars.

"Lie back and get comfortable, friend," Elias advises, "This might get a little invasive."

He pulls over the hovering stretcher and begins to unpack his surgery kit. He glances up from his work to their droid benefactor.

"I'll go ahead and give him a quick patch job here. Your friend's bacta should take care of the rest. Thanks, Switch."

Once Ronon is safely anesthetized, Elias warns the others, "Those who get squeamish easily might wish to avert their eyes and/or photoreceptors. Just a reminder."

Taking 10 on Treat Injury to perform a 10 minute Heal Damage operation. For Ronon that should restore... 1 HP. But the surgery makes sense from a roleplaying perspective, right?

He feels a more than slight reluctance to comply to Ronon's demand, but, they are on the same side for the moment, so he grabs two blasters stows them away, before helping Kedlo over to Elias, so he can patch him up next.

The surgery goes well, in just ten minutes time Ronon has nearly eighty stitches and his wounds are cauterized. Switch in the meantime is dragging the bodies to the exhaust shaft in the back of the bay and tosses them in. This shaft seems to go all the way to the stations central reactor core. He then states "I believe this is all of Ganga Lor's cronies, I doubt we will hear anything more from this gang." With that he kicks the Chevin down the shaft.

"Way to bring order into chaos", Irian scoffs. While the doc was working, he sat down crosslegged against one of the crates, his open hands on his lap. His face has regained color and he looks like his usual, subdued self. If nobody else feels like pushing forward, he will get what rest he can. Breathing deeply, he tries to find the calm in the center of the storm, but as always, he fails and has to be contend with just waiting.

"And how exactly can we identify that cargo, if there everything goes through there?"

"Are we ready?" He walks over to Elias, stiff like an old man, hooking his thumbs behind his belt. "Let's just get this over with."

When you believe everything has been taken care of at docking bay V14 you decide to take up Switch's offer of medical treatment. You return to the promenade to see it has returned to its usual state. No one even aware you were the ones involved in the shoot out merely hours ago. Casually you enter Delgas Medical Supplies and are greeted by a human woman named Dr. Byra Fenn. "Greetings travelers, I am Dr. Fenn. You must be the ones sent here by Switch. He has done many good deeds for me in the past and I'd be glad to return the favor, so please step into the back room and take a nice long dip in the bacta water." She leads you to the back room and inside is a surgery table and two bacta tanks ready for use.

Well, the fight is over, we know where our stuff is, but we made a detour to a medcenter to get Ronon and Kadlo patched up. In a nutshell.

Irian deactivates his comlink again and looks up as the other man comes towards him. "I'm fine", he states very curtly. "If you need medical attention, I suggest you get it now, while we are here."

The party rests in the medical center until their wounds are fully healed. Elias purchases some supplies in the meantime. The next day comes around and the sounds of activity from the promenade wake you from your restful slumber. There is but one thing left to do, retrieve the cargo from Blue Deck.

The turbolift doors slide open and you step out onto Blue Deck, it is like entering a wholly different space station. The floors are polished and possess a metallic sheen, and the massive windows along the wall grant the most magnificent view of Brentaal IV available on the station. Maintenance and service droids flit about from one place to the next, keeping everything clean and ordered.
Moving about the halls of Blue Deck are large numbers of Humans, most of them wealthy by appearances. They pay little attention to the few aliens in the area, except to sneer as they pass.

Across the hallway a conversation can be overheard by two nobles. "Did you hear an entire squad of stomtroopers were sent to investigate some suspicious cargo over in the main docking bay?"

Ronon Percetion You notice a man in similar clothing as the imperial informants you met in the promenade the previous day. Upon further inspection you realize he was there but ran away when the stormtroopers arrived.

"'The Empire would never think to look under their noses,' they said... riiiiiiight. I'm sure that squad of Imperial Stormtroopers is just searching for illegal Wookiee porn and not seizing the important contraband cargo we're supposed to be picking up."

"Considering the Empire invented the 'under their noses' plot in the first place..." Irian sounds tired and weary. "Well, just as I told you first, it never goes smooth anyway and I would advise we use stealth, instead of storming."

I would suggest a few stay back in case they try to attack the main group that is looking for the cargo. there is a bay door to space between the control room and the turbolift. large enough for a shuttle craft or freighter. also there is also a force field that prevents atmosphere from venting should the bay doors open.

As my father always says, "There ain't been a horse that can't be rode, there ain't been a rider that can't be throwed." Sure a forcefield prevents the air from being vented... but forcefields can be shut down.

Do we have control over the ship we came here on? What are its statistics? Could we get permission to dock with this cargo bay, or would we have to blast our way in to assault it from space? I'm figuring not only would that entrance be more dramatic, we might be able to get support fire from any weaponry mounted on the ship to cover the party's insertion.

"Well, at least the lift's the only way unless we finagle a way to come in from space... Depending on how easy it is to get docking clearances, that might actually be easier..."

You take the turbolift down to the main hangar.

The massive hangar smells of exhaust fumes and spilled coolant and appears to have seen quite a bit of activity recently. Crates stand stacked up throughout the hangar, waiting for whatever shuttle is to transport them down to the surface. Three doors lead off the side of the room; The two closer together doors have been marked with an A and a B, and the third leads to the control room with a transparent window overlooking the hangar itself. All the doors to these rooms are closed.

The two stormtroopers guarding storage room A seem preoccupied taking orders from the imperial officer dictating what to do. The other two on the far side of the room seem to be shuffling through some cargo crates completely oblivious to the entering party.

Just then the door to storage room A opens and a repulsor sled carrying a person frozen in carbonite exits into the hangar bay. The two stormtroopers flanking the store room doors turn to watch the sled. The imperial officer turns toward the sled and begins to direct it where to go.

Irian finds the control to open the doors, luckily they were labeled and were easily spotted. The bay doors begin to open alerting the stormtroopers to the presence of intruders. The repulsor sled drops the carbonite block and it crashes to the ground creating a loud echo in the hangar bay. The Imperial officer is spotted calling for backup on his com link while leading his squad of troopers to conflict.

The four stormtrooper guards fire at the advancing Ronon. While Ronons bowcaster bolt just hits the officer in the leg.

The trooper on the repulsor sled stands to ready his mounted blaster cannon.

Irian informs Maya of their status, then he draws his new blaster and from cover in the doorway of the room, opens fire on the Stormtrooper readying the cannon. We can't afford to be hit by that.

"The mount! AH!" Kage yells as he draws both of his weapons and bends behind the nearby crate. He pushes on his comlink, trying to message Irian. "Shut down the turbolift after we get rid of him. We may have company." He says as calm as he could with the sudden excitement.

His other hand, meanwhile, is more concerned about killing his enemies than healing his friends. He fires at the nearest Stormtrooper.

Irian enters store room 'A', and notices the cargo is a man frozen in carbonate. There is a control panel on the side to activate its repulsors, though its missing an energy cell. It was using the tether from the repulsor sled before but you believe it can hover on its own should it have power.

He frantically scrambles through the pouch on his belt and pulls out an energy cell that he inserts into the slot. Come on. I'm sure you want outta here...

The repulsors humm as the power cell is inserted, the large block of carbonite raises to waist height and is effortless to push across the room.

The ship comes in through the barrier and lands in the bay. The sounds from the engines are deafening. The ramp opens from the bottom and out comes a beautiful blonde woman. She yells "Quick, get that cargo on board before more troopers arrive!" She then disappears back into the ship.

He starts to move the block of carbonite towards their ship, maybe steadying himself a little too much on the floating surface. He is blinking rapidly as if trying to clear his eyes.

Once the Battle is over Ronon Runs over to one of the downed trooper and and takes the troopers weapon and the trooper utility belt, Ronon then rush over to the body of the officer and searches for any thing he thinks could be of use.

Elias is still concerned, but he understands if Irian doesn't want to talk about it.

"If you'd like me to I could lend you a hand with dragging that fellow in just a second..." he offers as he goes back over to retrieve his own repulsor-lifted stretcher.

His gaze drifts over to the recently arrived ship.

"My, my... she is a beaut, isn't she?"

Reading the expression on Elias' face, Irian scoffs. What a wonderfully mundane thing in comparison to the fact that he feels like... like he voluntarily cut off a foot, maybe.

"Talking about the lady, I take. Feel free to present her with this charming bucket of flowers" - he points to the slab of carbonite - "While I collect my things."

With that, he leaves Elias standing and runs to get his blaster and disable the lift, before sprinting back to the ship, and their ticket off this frelling station. The draft of air on his right side feels weird, as is the sensation that he could have come so close to death again. Better to distract himself with mundane annoyance. Not.

Elias blushes deeply.

"No, no, I was talking about the ship! You use feminine pronouns for them, you know!"

Ronon finds a blaster pistol, a station security com link (encrypted), and an officers uniform on the Imperial Officer.

The captain comes down the docking ramp to greet Elias and to inspect the cargo before leaving. She then uses her com link to tell the pilot everything is secure.
"Now when everyone gets on board, we can make space tracks." smiling slightly to Elias.

Elias blushes even more deeply at the thought that the Captain might have heard Irian. He tries his best to calm his nerves enough to introduce himself to the woman.

"Um, ah, hello!" he says, "I'm Elias. Elias Brannock. And you would be...?"

She says, "I am Captain Sirona Okeefe. I was sent by Maya to pick you lot up, but now isnt the time for a chat. There will be reinforcements soon and Id prefer to be long gone by then."

Ronon Grabs the officers Blaster and the comlink and he quickly strips the uniform off the officer, he thinks Who knows it could be of use in the future Ronon then head to the ship, Once on board Ronon say, Thank you Captain for the lift away from this place, i have a feeling we just wore out are welcome.

[Ascension]

"...right, reinforcements."

Forgetting his embarrassment for a moment, Elias turns to call to the stragglers in the bay.

"We gotta go, people!"

[Liliedhe]

Irian is already running towards the ship, his pale face set.

"Ready when you are", he quips and sprints up the ramp.

[Kazasu]

Kage runs up the ramp, looking back at the hanger. "I believe we may be in need of greater artillery and defenses. Wouldn't you say?" He speaks toward Elias, his voice now inside the ship.

Kedlo moves up into the ship and starts looking around at all the different parts it has

"I'm all for bigger guns in this situation, but my father only taught me how to use a pistol... I suppose he never thought I'd need anything larger as a senator..." Elias says to Kage.

Once everyone has entered the ship, along with the cargo, Captain Okeefe says through her com "All right crash, get us out of here." With that, the ramp closes and the ship jets out of the hangar and into hyperspace.

"Were on our way directly to Alderaan. Feel free to use the medical bay should you need to. Guest quarters are down the hall and Crash n' I will be in the cockpit." after giving her version of the grand tour, she exits toward the front of the ship and out of sight.

*Those negotiations with Switch could've gone smoother... Dad was right, I do need to work on my public speaking skills...* Elias thinks.

Irian trudges off towards the guest quarters, but stops in the corridor, looking back to Elias. "I didn't know you cared." He blushes, the scars suddenly looking like reversed freckles on his cheeks and nose.

It feels awkward to say that, but... "Thank you. I... Well, just thanks." With that, he turns and moves down the corridor, as if to cut off any possible embarrassing conversation.

"Well, with your words, perhaps even a pistol may be overkill." Kage speaks as he turns toward the corridor. He decides to take a detour before going to the med bay as he catches up to Irian. "What you did back there, when you almost got blasted... How?"

Irian frowns. "I just tried to get out of the way." An impassive shrug. "Or what would you do?" The boy's face is still red, from his awkward thanks towards Elias. "It was too close anyway and I need a new shirt now. Which I can't afford." He pulls at the scorched threads, some of them coming off in his hand and drops them with disgust.

The skin underneath is whole, but up his side, slightly under his ribcage, the skin is unnaturally smooth and pink, almost raw - it might be scartissue.

[Kazasu]

Kage takes off his All Temperature Cloak and offers it toward Irian. "You could always take this." He speaks, imagining what he say in the hanger, it had looked as if.. he absorbed the bolts.. Didn't it? "So, you call absorbing energy a dodge?"


If that force power is the same Darth Vader uses against Han Solo on Cloud City, then it looks like he absorbs the fire... Doesn't it, and tell me if I am thinking of the right thing. :smallbiggrin:

Well, it's the same. But to me it just looks like there are a lot of sparks around Vader and he isn't affected.^^ It's still weird, I give you that.

"Absorbing?" He makes a declining gesture towards the cloak. "That's a weird idea. How should that be possible." Irian seems quite astonished. With a shrug, he continues. "I'll admit I was very lucky."
